Voter Asks Hillary Clinton if Juanita Broaderick Should Be Believed, If All Women Are to Be Believed About Rape

Well.

“You recently came out to say that all rape victims should be believed? But would you say that about Juanita Broaddrick, Kathleen Willey, and Paula Jones? Should we believe them as well?” the audience member asked.

“Well, I would say that everybody should be believed at first until they are disbelieved based on evidence,” Clinton said, drawing applause.

She then grins and nods, her witch's cackle half-suppressed.

Several problems with that answer:

1. At what point did Hillary believe these women?

2. What "evidence" has disproved their claims? I mean, apart from Hilary's and Syd Blumenthal's smears and whispering campaigns.

Video at the link.

Nobody had a problem with the idea of believing people's claims who are supported by evidence...

This will cause people who hear about it to know who Kathleen Willey and Juanita Broaderick are though and maybe learn of the accusations--so at least there's that.

Confront the press, with documentation.

Don't treat them like friends - don't trust them, record all your interactions with them.

Don't use them if you don't have to. An interview may seem cheaper than an ad, but it's probably not.

Expose their lies, document them, bring it up whenever they go after you.

They keep all the records as a form of registration. The goal is to confiscate anything that's not registered under the assumption that it was an illegal transfer, but that's a couple steps down the Control Freak Totalitarian Government road.

Much easier to control the law-abiding than the criminal, that's why your life gets destroyed if *you* end up in court for *anything*, but the street thug who mugs you gets two years of job training by other criminals before going back on the street.

103 Obama has signaled his intent to issue an Executive Order to expand background checks to close by the so-called private sale loophole by creating a definition of "gun dealer" which isn't expressly defined by the background check statute. This may or may not be a big deal depending on how "gun dealer" is defined. 50 sales a year? One or two? While Obama's authority to issue an EO on this is dubious, if you violate the EO you're at risk of being a felon.

I have feared that Obama will go further and add the No Fly List to the background check process with an Executive Order. He and his minions have certainly been hinting at this. Obama wants to box the Republicans: "Do you really want to allow terrorists to buy guns?" This will raise a sh*t storm as the No Fly List already tramples on civil liberties and due process.

In the real world, our "common sense" background check system is ineffectual at stopping bad people from getting guns. Its only benefit is that the FBI releases the number of background checks it runs each month which shows the pace of gun sales for the entire nation. They've been way up under Obama. Best gun salesman ever!

Flowers played the voicemail tape of Bill's messages to her at a press conference during the '92 campaign.

169 The thing is, as the previous article on "BS" profound sounding quotes (the technical, historical term for this is "sophistry" - deep sounding, emotionally compelling, but intellectually vapid crap), it works on people who are not very smart or educated. The bulk of the US population are not very discerning, nor have they been taught to think and analyze things intellectually.

171 Here's a fun quote from a WaPo story from 1999:

Lanny J. Davis, former White House special counsel, assailed the Broaddrick story before the broadcast, saying: "Is journalism about reporting facts or not? Where have we gone when an unsubstantiated allegation becomes a fact if others report it? It is not corroborated because her girlfriend saw her with a swollen lip. That doesn't make the charge of rape a fact."

Saying that "proving a negative" is impossible for the White House, Davis added: "How do we know she didn't lie to all her friends? We know that, voluntarily, without anyone influencing her, she swore out an affidavit that she now says she lied about.

172 Fairly easy to track guns as it is now. Two years ago I sold a Ruger LCP on consignment at a gun store. A couple of months later I got a call from Hertz at the Houston Airport. Evidently someone had left their gun in the rental vehicle. Got interesting when the registration matched my sales receipt but the Hertz folks had a purchase date prior to the date the pistol was ever sold. I called the gun shop that sold the pistol and they contacted Hertz. Evidently while the model was the same, the registration number Hertz had was wrong. Strange. I'm covered, got a receipt.

177 Speaking of the sidebar where the question is asked "What common sense gun laws would have stopped the mass shooting in San Bernardino."

The answer is simple, the one about not having guns. We're already halfway there when the targets don't have guns. If the shooters don't have guns they won't be shooters. They might be ax murders, but they won't be shooters, and it's easier to run away from an ax murder than a shooter. Very few people can outrun a bullet, but you only have to run faster than the next victim of the ax murder to escape, though you might want to keep a few, say three or four, next victims of the ax murder between you and him, just out of an abundance of caution.

Everybody knows that.

194 Link on Drudge re: Executive Order doesn't quite get it right. Many call it the "gun show loophole" but if you're "in the business of selling guns" you have to register as an FFL. When you're an FFL you have to run background checks whether you sell at your store or at a gun show.

The relevant statute doesn't expressly say how many guns you have to sell to be considered "in the business of selling guns." Lots of statutes don't have exact definitions.

Result is the "private sale loophole." Many folks make private sales at gun shows.

ANother link ink on Drudge is to Press Secretary Earnest saying we should make it harder for terrorists to get guns. This fits with my post above that I expect Obama to issue an Executive Order adding the No Fly List to the background check process.

Sure you can challenge these in court, after you've been charged with a felony.

Onus is on the seller, if not registered as an FFL, if an Obama EO says seller should be. Then the seller can be charged as a felon. A hypothetical buyer from this seller won't have standing on this issue.

If the issue is the buyer being on a No Fly List, you can fight that and years later may get an answer. Many lower courts will screw you along the way to SCOTUS
