ZOMG Donald Trump Said Something Outrageous Fourteen Years Ago! [Y-not]

Seven days after September 11th, Donald Trump was interviewed by Page Six, primarily concerning how (or if) NYC should rebuild the Twin Towers.

His remarks, which you should take the time to read for yourself, are being characterized as beyond the pale (eleventy!11!!!). His crime is saying that the Twin Towers were not 'great' buildings.

I think the criticism is silly.

The part that interests me is not his opinion about the quality of the Twin Towers as works of architecture. Rather, I'm stunned by how much more cogent he sounds in this interview than the Donald Trump of today. His word-choice is much more sophisticated and includes words like demise, soul-soaring, essence, and altered.

Obviously, not an endorsement of Trump. I still wish he'd throw himself into a volcano. But it irritates me when something patently dumb like this is used to try to attack a candidate, even one I dislike immensely.

@Jackmcoldcuts on Twitter remarked how Trump's love for NYC shines through in that interview and I agree. Why didn't he run for mayor?

Yeah, that was ludicrous. I think the claim was that police say it didn't happen... which is absurd. The police were too busy to be monitoring if there were crowds of people in NJ celebrating publicly.

That said, I don't think it happened.

That's the thing with Trump. There's no reason to say "people in New Jersey" cheered. It adds nothing of value to his point. It merely insults NJ and opens him up to fact-checking, during which his point gets lost.

He's very sloppy.

But, oddly, he does not sound so intellectually flabby in that September 2001 interview.

He's very sloppy.

It's filmed in Vancouver and has a lot of asian actors which I like. At first I was put off that they have good looking actors but make them not so good looking. Lots of sex but its of the grunting in the back seat kind. Realistic. LOL
