It's Going To Be Really Hard To Adequately Vet Syrian Refugees Say Racists...In The Obama Adminstration
Advocates for resettling tens of thousands of Syrians in the US say the process is robust, thorough and extensive. But in the end the reality is you can only check people's backgrounds against the information you have and when it comes to Syrians we don't have much.
Don't take the word of a crazy rightwinger who is clearly afraid of women and children, take the word of Team Obama.But one of the senior administration officials at Tuesday’s briefing acknowledged the limitations inherent in screening refugees from Syria, where it’s very difficult to determine something as basic as an applicant’s criminal history. “We do the best with what we have,” the official said. “We talk to people about what their criminal histories are, and we hear about that. That’s pretty much where we are.”Here's FBI Director James Comey testifying before Congress last month.
FBI Director James Comey, flanked by the nation’s top intelligence officials, admitted to the House Homeland Security Committee Wednesday that for some of the 10,000 Syrian refugees the administration has agreed to allow into the U.S., there will be no basis to vet them through the databases it uses to determine if they have ties to terrorism. “We can only query against that which we have collected, and so if someone has never made a ripple in the pond in Syria in a way that would get their identity or their interests reflected in our database, we can query our database til the cows come home, but … there’ll be nothing show up, because we have no record on that person,” said Comey.And here's DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson also from last month.
“We’ve gotten better at that over the last couple of years, but it is a time-consuming process and one of the challenges that we’ll have is that we’re not going to know a whole lot about the individual refugees that come forward.”The "gotten better" part is important because, let's just say there's a lot of room for improvement in the screening process.

Let's be honest, some of these refugees won't like the US, we'll decide someone saying something mean about them is an insult to their religion that must be avenged or will just get bored. A. Let in thousands of "refugees" from hostile, war-torn countries with vetting based on scant/non-existent info.
B. Vet the hell out of every dang American with increased DHS security at airports (and likely starting on trains, subways, etc.) as well as giving NSA/FBI/DHS all sorts of additional monitoring capabilities.
Because it makes more sense to focus finding the baddies amongst 300+ million than just holding off letting in the unvettable tens of thousand.

They would insist that the Saudis and other rich Sunni gulf states find a place for Sunni refugees and Iran and other Shia ME countries take the Shia refugees and they would have passionate speeches on why those good muslim people should not be ripped away from their culture and plunked into foreign places.
The fact that our "leaders" are saying we must take solo fighting age muslim men along with the 10% or whatever fraction of people that would actually be considered refugees by any sane standards is clear evidence that they are acting against their own citizens. It is so frustrating to see the (lack of) thought processes at work, in well meaning people.
They see one unconnected photo and they are conned into believing the false narrative. Not only that. They are conned into believing the non sequitur: there is one drowned boy. Therefore we must accept unlimited quantities of fighting aged young men who want to wage jihad here.
People who should know better are just so, so stupid. It makes me despair. They even mean well but they are stupid.

And those that are living in non-Muslim countries; compare how peaceful they were 10 years ago to now. See any difference?
As they become larger in number they become more violent, more demanding and have usually resorted to deadly violence and soon will resort to more.
This is the pattern and it still holds true.
Many diseases aren't really a disease until they reach a certain density then they become more and more toxic.
And although women and children for the most part don't take part in the violence, they do provide the safe haven for the fighters to withdraw to and recover and to provide new members for use as soldiers.
Anyone who thinks differently is only fooling themselves.

That's funny because in the past day, I've had interesting conversations with two people: one is a conservative doctor who supported the 2nd Amendment but never had any interest in owning a gun himelf. He told me he's going to get a concealed carry permit and a Glock.
The other is a left-wing, Kumbaya, isn't Pope Francis wonderful Catholic who told me she has always been in favor of gun control - but the Paris attack changed her mind.
Barky's been a great gun saleman. ISIS terrorists are even better.

Listening this morning to Breitbart radio and they were interviewing someone (sorry, didn't tune in early enough to catch name) who brought up how no one is talking about the real issue.
That Islam is incompatible with Western culture, ideology, religion and thought. Islam is a religion and culture that believes in dictatorial, absolute following of it's ideology. That non believers must be converted or should die. Sharia law is the absolute rule.
The two cannot coexist. One must be subordinate to the other and Islam is much more fanatical in it's adherence to it's beliefs.

Yeah, insomniac, I'd like to think so because he is smart in other ways. I have a theory that anyone who feels like a victim ----- blacks, gays, Hispanics, feminists ----- all have an alliance and come to the defense of other victims. Like here. It's a tribal instinct built on the hope that if support other victims, when they get victimized, they'll receive similar support. Or something. I don't know.

you can't sleep. It feels like mild torture. I love sleeping and
dreaming and sometimes I can't. It totally sucks. I make up for it
during the day with 20 min power naps. I can also do the lucid dreaming

It was a "local" story only if you check and see how many others were burned alive in their cars in the area afterwards. A few similar crimes. Some suggested gang initiation. Others said it is more common in Middle East. It was a horrible story, much cluster, and no one seemed to give a damn about that girl.
The Yemen thread was what really bothered me and why I bring it up now with all the refugee stuff. Many come here, hate our laws, hate our democracy and freedom, but use our laws to help their cause. They use our laws, which they despise, to also protect themselves.
Regardless of the story and horror for that girl burned alive, I had no idea that the gangs had spilled over from Memphis to quiet little towns in the Delta. It read like a Grisham novel.

although sidenote on alcohol for sleeping...it might help you get to sleep but it also might make that sleep sort of disturbed. It's definitely true for me. I drop right off and wake up in the middle of the night.

Yeah, 3-6 am is the worst part of my day. I hear all these noises and constantly think there's a rodent running loose so I just stay paralyzed in my bed afraid to move. The only fear I have in life is of rodents especially the larger variety. I think I would faint if I actually saw one in real life.

Violating grammar in order to make sure that your meaning is understood. Ha! I can't even say the actual words. I call them lice, louses, and not cats. If I say the word, I get a mental image and then get upset. Unfortunately, I live on a hillside out in the country and get all these field lice in my house. I pay someone to check the traps and remove the carcasses and reset the traps. I have to avert my eyes from the locations of all the traps so I don't see a dead louse. Pathetic, I know.

Seriously, age and exercise has a lot to do with your sleep habits. I can fall asleep pretty much anywhere, I just can not stay asleep because of pain.

I hear you; I often have trouble sleeping but it think it has more to do with some chronic conditions I have, or women who are older (older than 45, I mean ) often have trouble sleeping. If you're nowhere near 45, I apologize. What does help me is to get off any electronic devices for an hour before I go to bed (which I don't always do), have chamomile tea and take melatonin or Valerian or both in combination and no lots of deep breathing and meditating before I go to bed.
Lack of sleep makes everything worse. I am sorry you're having these problems.

I know a lot of bleeding hearts who are normally open border libs and the ones I've talked to over the last few days are adamantly against letting the Syrian refugees here.
They're not afraid of Pedro who mows their lawn. They can visualize their children and themselves getting mowed down in nightclubs and restaurants. Like Jerry Rivers, they change their tune pretty quickly when it threatens their comfortable lives.
If Obama and the D's push this and something happens there will be a massive backlash.
