Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Anderson Cooper: I Knew Bernie Sanders Would Shut Down the Email Question When I Called On HimHe says he now wishes he had gone to other people before Sanders, so that others could have discussed the issue before Sanders shut it down, as he knew Sanders would. Sure.In a chat with former New York Times television reporter Bill Carter on the SiriusXM show "The Bill Carter Interview," Cooper put this moment in his basket of regrets over his handling of the debate. "I wish I had brought in one other candidate before I went to Sanders on the email thing because I knew Sanders would try to shut it down," said the debate host. Perhaps that would have been a better way to go, though there was no guarantee. After all, Chafee commented that the e-mails drive at a credibility crisis in American politics. When Cooper asked Clinton whether she wanted to respond, she said, "No," to the delight of her supporters. The huge crowd reaction for Sanders' shut-down (both Hillary's and Sanders' supporters cheered it, and they were 99% of the crowd) guaranteed that no one else would make an issue of it. Politicians are naturally cowards and lickspittles, and the social pressure from a big crowd is a potent thing, even for people with guts. Because Sanders had already given Democrats permission to stop pretending they cared about Hillary's serial law-breaking, Hillary did not feel the need to respond to the hapless idiot Chafee, and got another campaign moment when she just said "No" when asked if she wanted to respond. But she was only in the position of being able to say "No" -- of being able to give no response -- because Cooper had already called on the guy he knew would shut the discussion down. The Haggard Queen now feels empowered to do her pretend Joker Laugh when asked about this. Jake Tapper asked about "FBI officials" looking into violations of the Espionage Act, prompting this bizarre and brazen reaction from Hillary.
Tapper questioned if she was concerned about the secruity on the server while it was not housed in the State Department but in a bathroom in Colorado. Clinton said that she was not concerned. When asked if the State Department gave her permission Clinton said no and that it was allowed. Clinton deflected and said that her predecessors had done the same thing and added that other high ranking members of the federal government used personal servers and personal emails.... Tapper asked Clinton if it ever occured to her if any of the emails she had received from Sid Blumenthal or others contained any sensitive information. Clinton brushed off the comment by saying Blumenthal was not a government employee. "It would be like you sending me something," Clinton said.Except that Blumenthal was passing her national secrets about CIA assets in Libya, which he had gotten from former head of the CIA's European theater clandestine division, Tyler Drumheller, who had in turn gotten the name from his still-serving contacts in the CIA. CNN will be re-airing this interview on Sunday. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Hillary's email question is not 'shutdown'. It is being ignored by the democrats, other than Obama, who holds Hillary's life in his hand.
If what is being reported by the media is true, Hillary is facing prison time should Obama give the order to prosecute. If what is being reported by the media is not true, then it is obvious we can no longer trust the media nor their sources, nor any government official including Obama. Nor can we trust the cowardly republicans who appear to be either clueless or simply cowards. Posted by: Hayfield Volkovski at October 16, 2015 06:31 PM (L5XHV) 17

Rather than talk about Hillary, help me out with a neighbor problem.
I have a neighbor. We share a fence. There is a large bush which grows right up against his side of the fence. He never tends it. For years -- years and years -- Whenever I have done gardening in that area, I have simply trimmed the branches from the bush that stick into my yard. He has never cared, never commented in it, and probably never even noticed. We are on good terms. Never had a harsh word to each other. Never really had any conflicts. Then, yesterday, I decided it was time to trim the bush again, but it had grown even larger than usual this time. I don't know why I got a sudden urge to be extra-polite and courteous, but this time for some reason I decided to ask his permission ahead of time, since I am after all trimming a bush that grows on his property (though the part I am trimming mostly grows onto my property). I tried to call him on the phone, but his landline had been disconnected since the last time I tried calling him (about five years ago), so instead I went over to his house and knocked on the door. He answered. I said, "Hey, you know that bush along the fence? i was wondering if I could trim--" "NO!!!" he yelled at me. Taken aback, I continued, "Just wanted your permission to snip a couple of the branches--" "THIS CONVERSATION IS OVER!" he bellowed and literally slammed the door in my face. I was stunned, frankly. I walked away, but could not figure out why he got so angry. Not only have we not exchanged harsh words about anything recently, I can't remember having spoken to him is over a year, and that was a friendly chat. So: WTF? Now I stare at that bush and it will just grow bigger and bigger until it blots out the sun on my property. And although I probably am within my legal rights to trim the parts that sway over my side of the fence, doing so would probably elicit a wild over-reaction on his part. Question: What should I do? Whether Cooper is telling the truth about Bernie or just guessing doesn't matter. Even if any other candidate had been called on first, Bernie could and would likely have done his "Angry Old Fart" routine and gotten the same response. I suspect it was staged. NO other candidate would have knowingly volunteered to give a seg to Bernie (it would end their run immediately) ... ... so I suspect Cooper "knew" to call on Bernie first. The Roundup option is just not feasible in a real-world setting. He would know without a doubt that I was the one that killed the bush. And that would just make him angrier.
I'm not talking about revenge fantasies here, like "Roundup" or "Kill him," but what to do, for real. I have to live next to him, permanently, so I don't want to make a permanent enemy. I want to smooth things over. But I feel tat any attempt at communication -- ANY attempt of any kind -- will be interpreted as aggressive harassment. "The huge crowd reaction for Sanders' shut-down (both Hillary's and
Sanders' supporters cheered it, and they were 99% of the crowd) guaranteed that no one else would make an issue of it." The parallel event of still larger importance is that when the e-mail scandal was asserted to be a non-issue, most of the people IN THE PRESS ROOM immediately leapt to their feet loudly cheering and applauding. Not the debate audience filled with known and obvious Democratic loyalists. No, this was the supposedly "objective, neutral, nonpartisan" press corps. Mask, slippage thereof, some assembly required. The question is this: Would you rather be loved or feared by your next-door neighbors? The answer is: Feared. Neighbors are strangers. And no matter how nice and friendly they are, they'll always be strangers. It is better that they fear you or else they might get, you know, ideas. Ideas such as slamming the door in your face when all you want is to trim some stupid bush. Posted by: Soothsayer, with arms akimbo at October 16, 2015 07:10 PM (Fv3UZ) 111
Phone line disconnected, immediate outrage, ... it sounds like he did not realize that it was you.
Posted by: Arbalest He definitely knew it was me. I introduced myself. We've been neighbors for many many years. I left out a detail because it would have made my original post too long and complicated, but I will reveal it now, because it may explain my "having a meltdown" theory. A couple weeks ago I noticed that someone had put an ad on craigslist for a garage sale on our block. I at first did not notice who had placed the ad. But it was one of the craziest garage sale ads ever, because it was abusive toward possible customers. The ad said something like this: "Garage sale. Misc. stuff, old bicycle, household goods, etc. Don't bother to come if you're going to try and haggle with me. Just pay the damn price. No bargaining. If people are going to waste my time with quibbling over prices, I'm just gonna donate this crap to Goodwill and take a tax write-off. Hagglers not welcome." It was only at the end that I noticed it was HIS address. Needless to say, I steered clear of that garage sale -- never even went by his house or anything on that day. But that gave me a clue that he was in a long-term foul mood about something, and that his outburst at me was about his inner demons, not something I had done myself. That's the common law in Canada too. You own everything inside your property line up in the air or beneath the ground. And everyone from all of those groups (and probably some groups not even included in the list) are perfectly OK with that. This is why the country will not survive this era. The country will continue to evolve and decline, things will get worse for practically everyone, and for quite a long time, people will lie to themselves that it's OK what is happening and that the end state will be worth the... crap. Zombie, I'm not a lawyer, but it's basic English common law -- you own everything on your property line from hell to heaven. So just trim it on your side of the fence and don't say anything. If he bitches, feign ignorance. Say you thought he meant you couldnt trim the other side of his bush for him, you'd been trimming your side for years and had no idea he wouldn't like that. Plus, you know, it's on your property and you have every right to trim it. I'm not a doctor either, but it sounds like he may have some kind of mental issue, which means he probably won't even remember the whole bush trimming thing anyways or notice if you trim your side. also, take it as a lesson -- never ask. I certainly share that frustration. And I am contemplating voting for either Trump, or Sanders, because either way it's a clean break with establishment-politics nonsense. But Trump will have an awfully hard time in the general election against Clinton if she's the nominee, because any attacks he might make will be countered with that infamous photo of Trump and both Clintons smiling and laughing together at a Trump gala. Posted by: Jane D'oh at October 16, 2015 07:47 PM (FsuaD) I did try that after you had posted about it several months ago in order to help alleviate my own anxiety issues. I was taking 800mg SAM-e (2 caps @400) with 6000 IU vitamin D (3 caps @2000) for a while and I thought it helped me out a bit. Also, I passed that on to my mother who found that it helped her, too. So, I appreciate you posting about it. Do you still feel that it helps? Have your doctors mentioned anything about it? One of my docs had no problems with the vitamin D intake (especially since I'm a cube monkey with next to no sunlight exposure) but none have commented on the SAM-e. I have a bush and a tree that grows across the fence onto my neighbor's property. It has never even occurred to me to be offended if they trim them on their side. I've always assumed that the property line is a vertical plane, much like the plane of the end zone in a football stadium. They can do whatever they like on their side.

Mrs. Clinton, can you assure us that the next time the SEC investigates a Bernie Madoff or the FBI tackles a kiddie porn ring, your administration will allow them to delete any wedding planning or yoga related files, print the remaking files, and then destroy all their computer equipment? If not, please explain how their situation differs from yours, preferably by giving a Nixonian "I am not a crook" impersonation.

It's funny how perfectly OK the Dems are with racial tokenism. 5 white people on stage, a Vanderbilt running the debate, and some Hispanics and blacks brought on to ask about their niche concerns. It's as if the massive waves of immigration won't turn the US into a vast suburb of Calcutta and Mexico City and Lagos in 20 years. It's as if Democrats imagine the future will look just like the present, with blue-eyed Vanderbilts in charge and the blacks and browns brought on for cameos for a little ethnic flavor.
