Newest Feminist Crisis: Sports Jerseys Are Not Made in Women's Sizes

This feminist wanted to buy an Eli Manning sports jersey -- and was aghast to find there were no women's sizes. Women usually bought children's sizes, she was told.

But it gets worse -- because Women of Size (WoS), that is, XL women, cannot fit into child's sizes. So they have to buy men's jerseys, which actually fit them fine. But they're marked as "Men's sizes" which therefore denies the female gender exists entirely. Or something.

I hope you'll all join me in staging a candlelight vigil tonight.

This madness must end.

By the way: It turns out you can buy women's sports jerseys. But most stores don't carry them (because most women don't buy them), so they sell them online.

But this is also a horror on par with the Holocaust, or whatever happened in Armenia.

1 Along these lines, needed to buy clothes for an overweight nephew...where the hell are the "husky" sizes for kids nowadays?

I saw rows and rows of skinny jeans, but aren't half of America's kids overweight?

I know I should claim Sears hates kids on twitter right?

But in the days of social media, for some reason, one screaming voice of insanity and childishness somehow changes policy and forces businesses to act. I just can't get it. You don't like this? Good for you. Next topic. But no, they freak out like there's a bee in the car, go on TV apologizing and change everything to coddle this one foaming jackwagon. It makes no sense.

I'm convinced that businesses are confused and frightened by social media and the internet and think its far, far, FAR more influential and important than it actually is. You know how to deal with this?

112 By the way: It turns out you can buy women's sports jerseys. But most stores don't carry them (because most women don't buy them), so they sell them online.

I was going to say, sports jerseys sure as hell come in women's sizes (and by that I mean fat girl sizes and I can say that as a fat girl).

In fact, I've bought myself sports jerseys in women's plus sizes off the rack at a sports store in Flyover Country.

Might it be that it's the whole you live in NYC and the store is being a bitch about not wanting to sell to fat people? Hmmm?

Because heaven forfend you cross the river and go into any mall in NJ and you could have found just what you wanted.

225 "Just remembered an interaction I had that I totally meant to share:

Oh? And what event caused you to remember this painful interaction? Did you see a story about the sexual enslavement of Yazidi women by ISIS? Perhaps you read about female captives being forced to watch their 9 year old daughters being raped by full-grown ISIS monsters and thought to yourself, "This is SO TOTALLY like that time I couldn't buy a curvy Manning jersey to fit my fat ass!"

So I went into Modell's to buy a women's Eli Manning jersey.

Your first mistake was buying an Eli Manning jersey. But we'll let that go.

The dude tells me they don't carry women's jerseys: "Most women just buy the child sizes." OKAY MODELL'S DUDE.

First, I find your use of "dude" to describe the sales clerk offensive. You are clearly using that term to demean him as some loser who isn't down for the women's plus size clothing struggle. Stop being a bitch.

Second, he's telling you what OTHER women do when they discover there aren't any women's jerseys available. It doesn't matter that you can't do that because you're tubby. He's explaining to you why the lack of women's jerseys is a moot point. In other words, OMG grow up and just buy a damn unisex jersey, you hysterical assclown.

Mind you, this is a two-floor store in the heart of NYC. There's plenty of space for women's sports gear not designed by Alyssa Milano.

Ooooh, SO much to unpack here.

1) The size and location of the store is irrelevant. What is relevant is what customers are buying. If they don't get enough women coming into the store asking for women's jerseys (by which you mean "jerseys that show I have a waist so that men will think I'm cute"), there's no reason for them to take up valuable floor space with them. Like you just said, they're a big store in a very busy part of the world: filling up their inventory with shit that doesn't sell isn't going to help them stay there.

2) I'm pretty sure they have women's cut t-shirts and other female-geared clothing and accessories that you could choose from. Are you THAT desperate for an Eli Manning jersey with curves?

3) Alyssa Milano's line of sportswear is officially endorsed and sold by the NFL itself (http://www.nflshop.com/Alyssa_Milano). Instead of bitching about the lack of selection, how about you holla at a sister who is making HUGE bank selling women-tailored clothes in a traditionally male-dominated market? Or no, I guess you can just indulge in typical pampered Western woman feminist melodramatic bullshit some more.

Plus women are SOL if they can't fit into children's jerseys b/c they're ADULT HUMANS

No, they're not "shit out of luck". They can buy the adult unisex jersey like anyone else. I'm a plus-size woman myself: I know I can't wear petite shit. If they don't have a plus size rack at the store I'm in, I leave to find somewhere that DOES have what I can wear. This isn't that hard, honey. Shop with your feet.

have to buy men's jerseys bc they're not really women.

A) They're not "men's" jerseys. Odds are they're sold, like most things, as "unisex." Why? Because a man wearing a woman's baby-doll tee looks weird and creepy, but a woman wearing a traditional t-shirt isn't. Anyone can wear one. Shut up.

B) "Because they're not really women?" Really? Are you fucking kidding me right now? How about you get your self-absorbed head out of your ass and admit to yourself that you're not angry because they don't have your size and shape of jersey, but because you don't fit into the child-size jerseys like petite women do. The only person calling you an unwoman is yourself, you fat cow.

C) Oh, actually, I lied in that last paragraph. See, I'm ALSO calling you an unwoman. Why? Because no real woman gives a shit about a sportswear store's lack of plus size, woman-tailored team jerseys. We're too busy having sex with our boyfriends and husbands who love our curves, even if they're obscured by a unisex tshirt.

Fuck off, bint.

Mommy dragged me along to some health fair thing at a local hospital and, hey, free stuff so I went.

Things were going fine until there was some super duper uber omg omgomgomgomg Komen fund raiser there who was annoying as hell. I was trying to ignore her but I finally had it when she said "And do you know what's the most dangerous killer for women?" and I snapped out "Heart disease." She got all wide eyed and then was all "Well, yes, but for cancer" and I snapped "Lung cancer." I thought she was going to cry.

Mommy was not best pleased with me but I'd had it.

And, yes, I am fully aware that Komen raises money for Komen. Next up was going to be me asking so what percentage of these donations is going to research again but Mommy had already smacked me.

Holdover from the Renaissance, I think. And it's actually the other way 'round - men's shirts are "backward." It was considered polite always to use your right hand to do things (including buttons/ties on shirts and such), but with the advent of dueling culture, men had a need to use their left hand to undo/loosen their shirts. So, the switch was made to make that easier.

At least, that is what I'm told by several friends with interest (in at least one case - an actual career) in that period of history.

I don't know if it only applied to middle class and (much) higher women but women needed help getting into their old-times' dresses and corsets so they had dressers to help them. And it was easier for a dresser to button the buttons when they were on the opposite side of easier for someone doing it for themselves. Something along those lines anyway.

366 Actually, this is just Playboy returning to their "roots".

That's what used to be in the early mags. Then it was just a hint of nudity. Took years before you even saw pubic hair.

Lots of breastessessss.

Like they say, you can get the full gyno examine type pictures with or without optional penetration so this will be classier and the broads more upscale.

384 GTS!!!!!

--------

The reason has its roots in both custom and fashion. In the last few centuries of modern dress, both men and women wore more clothes than they do today (which is probably just as well, as they also bathed a lot less than they do today).

Depending on the era, men might wear waistcoats, pantaloons, gaiters and wool jackets. But women's clothing was far more elaborate, and could consist of a dozen or more garments including petticoats, bloomers, gowns, corsets and bustles.

Thus, especially in middle- and upper-class society, men generally dressed themselves, whereas women did not. Instead, maids and servants might spend an hour or more dressing the lady of the house. Clothiers soon realized that reversing the buttons on women's clothes made the job faster and easier for all involved. Because men were not dressed by servants, there was no need to reverse the buttons on their garments, and thus a custom was born.

Seems these armies of SJWs swarming the Internets hunting for Truethink infractions is a deliberate ploy to enforce cultural conformity, which in turn brings about the political changes they're seeking. For example, the governor of my own home state, Mike Pence, is still cowering in the corner of his office, curled into a fetal position, deathly afraid of receiving one more poisonous tweet for encouraging the passage of the Religous Freedom Act in Indiana a few months ago. Of course, Mike is handicapped. He has no spine. Or balls. Or principles.

Or they're restricted the season and the places.

So guess what?

More deer == more deer ticks.

(they're little tiny boogers and as you may know, ticks are hard to notice. they know just where to go to hide)

Frankly (except for the children affected) those people deserve it.

Lately though with the way these scrunt feminists have been shoving their faces into everyone elses, demanding that we give in to their every demand while they piss all over us, I'm really thinking of making an exception to that lifelong held rule. You know how some people are pretty much just asking to be nut punched and than curb stomped because they got all in your face and had the nerve to think you wouldn't do anything, well its coming to that point lemme tell ya. Jesus said to turn the other cheek, he never said to keep turning the other cheek and allow yourself to be abused constantly and he also said to stand up and fight for what was right. Even Jesus got pissed off and threw out those money lenders from the Temple. He knew there was a time to get angry and fight.

547 Diversity is more than our demographics at the University of Houston -- it's our commitment to expression, varied viewpoints, and the belief that challenging the status quo produces the strongest innovation," UH System Chancellor Renu Khator said in a statement. "This debate comes at a pivotal moment in the election cycle. We're delighted to host a national conversation with real-life impact on our community and country, and welcome an evening of engaging discourse to our campus."

The exact time and location of the debate on UH's campus has yet to be determined, school officials said. NBC and Telemundo crews surveyed some campus venues during two site visits -- in August and last Tuesday, said P'nina Topham, a UH spokeswoman.
UH was approached earlier this year by NBC and Telemundo to submit a proposal to host the debate, Topham said. That proposal included descriptions of the school's facilities and services that could be provided to host the debate, she said.

555 Ladies maid did the dressing and took care of the clothes and the bedroom. Chamber maids and upstairs maids took care of the bedroom quarters and facilities.

Tweens took care of stuff that was neither upstairs nor downstairs (usually youngsters).

Downstairs or house maids took care of the withdrawing room, library, parlor, morning room and served meals. Laundry was also a specialty included ironing.

Cooks were in charge of the kitchen where you had scullery maids (cleaning) and servers.

The footmen took care of the horses, the tack, the carriage and the outside (except for the stuff the gardener did) and did the heavy work inside.

The butler was in charge of it all and was assisted by the Footmen.

And then they invented the refrigerator, the vacuum, the dishwasher, the clothes washer, the telephone, the automobile, the Trolley, and all those jobs went bye bye.

You know, as a young'un I used to wonder at how strange it was that Stalin - as bloody a dictator as ever walked the Earth - was one of America's allies in WWII. "How could that work?" I used to ponder. "Stalin was awful. He wasn't any better than the Nazis!" I mean, I know "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" is generally the rule of the land, but it was still tough for me to wrap my head around as a kid.

And now we've got Putin bullying his way to a new USSR, invading sovereign countries and making deals with totalitarian dictatorships, and all I can say is, "I hope the asshole bombs ISIS back to the Precambrian."

History becomes ever more clear as current events grow ever more murky.

I remember years ago growing up down near Newark, NJ that nearly every pizza joint carried 3 sizes, small, medium and large. You could ask for a personal or an extra large but that cost extra as they didn't have them laying around normally. These days I guess to cut back costs and time it seems they have gone to one size fits all pizzas. But again that just might be up here in my little corner of Jersey.

My point is he never really left the KGB. As the dictator of Russia, which he is no matter what he calls himself, all state apparatus are under his control and while the old KGB may be gone, there is still a pretty active state police operation.

People act as if WWII was a forgone conclusion from the beginning. Truth is, the Allies were outright losing the war until victories at Midway and Stalingrad, and it was still a very near-run thing until the first week following D-Day, when it was clear our forces had a foothold and wouldn't be swept into the sea.

We were in an existential fight and couldn't afford to be picky. Russia wasn't at war with us. The Germans and the Japanese were. It's that simple.

Starvation, death camps, outright just shootings, etc. What I mean by "war casualties" is that you can't count bombings and soldiers being shot if you want a number of sheer evil. Just the stuff done on the side because you're a rotten bastard. The numbers I pulled up were around 11 million just killings by Nazis, and probably an estimated 1 million from starvation and disease due to displacement and destruction.

There was a German documentary following him from his days stationed in East Germany until today, and they named-names, and their connection with Putin. They all used to work together, mainly from St. Petersburg, and he needed people he could trust.

Don't jerseys usually have short sleeves? (Or none at all?). And arm scyes and tapering aren't really needed for a potato shape woman with big arms. In fact in plus sizes the men's shaping is a big plus. Plus, the "women's" size jerseys are just relabeled kids jerseys. It's such a shapeless, boxy garment to begin with...

661 Eli has been the MVP and winning QB of 2 Super Bowls, beating Tom Brady and the great Bill Belichick.

He also has played every single game since Nov 2004, a total of 183 consecutive games, at the most brutal position in sports, in the most highly critical town in America.

But sure, call him a 'girly' girl, mock him for "sucking", and tell yourself that you are really glad that YOUR team does not have Eli manning and his 2 SB MVPs as your QB. Unless you are from NE or Green Bay, you're full of it.

Eli Manning is my Hall of Fame bound QB and his jersey will be under my tree on the 25th to replace the worn out red one I've been wearing for 11 glorious years.

Suck it.
