Spencer Stone Stabbed While Defending Friend in Barfight
Calm down, dude! You're already a hero!
The attack reportedly happened early Thursday morning in Sacramento while Stone was protecting a friend. Stone was stabbed 4 times in the chest while standing on a street corner.He's come out of surgery and is in stable condition.

All I know is a lot of things don't make sense here. It doesn't seem to fit the "robbery" narrative (I think that one was advanced earlier today).
A random bar fight doesn't make a ton of sense, either; I've known a few bouncers and they always claimed they had a sense when something like that was going to happen, and would proactively call the cops. Certainly not impossible, but still seems "off" to me.
As you say, terrorist assassination attempt doesn't make sense (unless we're talking about stupid terrorists - which is a true possibility).
Nevertheless, I still think it's odd that both he and the guy from Oregon would be that closely linked (did we ever get a definitive answer on if he would have been at the school but for DwtS?) to violent crimes in this short a time-frame.

I don't think anyone is ruling it out but also thus far there's zero evidence of it. Dumb-ass bar fights and stabbings happen all the time and are statistically far, FAR more likely than targeted terrorist attacks. So Occam's razor and all that.

I've worked in a few bars and continue to actively support a few others. I agree that you can see a lot of stuff starting to bubble before it goes off. Back in the bad old days when I was in school the bouncers were on hair triggers at a lot of the bars where college age types hung out. Mary Ann's was infamous around BC for having guys from the football team as bouncers who loved to bounce. Big time.
But some stuff seems to just go off rapidly and randomly and in our new PC culture you better see some blood before stepping in or you will probably get sued for hurt feelings or some other crap.
It is incredibly coincidental but if this was a terror attack they really suck at this whole terror thing.

People have strange ideas about California. It's definitely a mixed experience, and will probably collapse completely, though over water or money first, who knows.
There are some awful counties to live in, and Sactown is a crowded mess. But I'm pretty sure Stone could have got a permit - then again, if he was drunk and carrying, he'd probably lose it, too.
