A little corporate advertising synergy: Hillary gets promoted on NBC's Saturday Night Live, then gets advertised on NBC's Today Show this morning.

But that doesn't seem to be helping her very much in NBC polls.

142 Six years ago this month, I lost my beautiful mother. At 83, in spite of so many heart/other health issues that were no fault of hers whatsoever, her skin was beautiful.

She was petite and slender, still the size she was when she married my dad (she was also blessed with the metabolism of a hummingbird, damn it, and never passed up dessert).

She took care of her skin, drank a glass of water with lemon every morning, and enjoyed an occasional glass of wine, or a Manhattan.

She also was very fashionable. I miss the hell out of going shopping with her, and having lunch together, and laughing.

Most voters are interested in being part of an experience and a movement, not identifying with policies and arguments (sorry Jindal, etc). When you're an NCO, you do deal with a lot of guilt, especially when you have served with soldiers through 2-3 deployments, and have had friends die.

I take solace that I have former soldiers of mine, who are now NCOs, still in, that take care of their troops.

So I like to think that I instilled just a little bit of leadership in my joes.

Just like the NCOs instilled in me between 2003-2009.

As far as the suicides of your son's buddies, I still deal with wondering if I could have done more with the friends that ate a bullet, sometimes years after we've deployed. Between 2004 and the present, I have had 7 friends, some I went to basic with (again) in 2001.
Some I served with in Iraq, that were able to stay alive in that shithole, just to come home and eat a bullet.

Only reason I haven't ate one, is because I refuse to give those that want me gone the satisfaction.

Look up fruit fly traps. I had the little bastards too and made a trap with some cider vinegar in a jar covered with plastic wrap. Push the plastic wrap down into the glass and poke a hole in it so they can crawl in. They can't resist. Got rid of mine within a week.

256 Buzzion, while I do not normally argue with the dear departed, her skin looks like she is twenty years older than stated age. Unless she has been left, tied to spikes, and turned skin into leather. I know a lot of women her age who do not have that fragile looking skin.

Now maybe she is on steroids for something (although her doc says she is fit). It is the bazillions of wrinkles that no facelift has fixed. Her collagen has left the building.
