The Once-InEVITAble Hillary Now Only Draws One Third of Democrats in Support

And Biden's at 25%, in a three-way race including the increasingly-likely Biden bid.

Why is Grandma Barker falling so precipitously? Maybe it's her unwinning personality, or maybe it's because she talks like a mobster.

Months into her email scandal, Hillary Clinton is still trying to get away with lines like, "There's no evidence of that." Oh, and answering questions with laughter.

No wonder she keeps falling in the polls -- behind a 74-year-old Brooklyn-born socialist in the first two primary states, where more folks are paying attention.

On CNN’s "The Situation Room" last week, she faced questions about the claim by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie that she should face criminal charges for using a private email account and server to conduct official State Department business, including emails with highly classified information.

Clinton burst into laughter.

She kept up the giggling when asked about the chance that hackers from Russia or China broke into her server to glean national-security secrets. And then gave the lawyerly answer, "There's no evidence of that."

"There's no evidence of that" sounds a lot like a guilty person who only disputes the State's ability to make a case stick, not the underlying charges.

Which is exactly what this is.

Below, from this past weekend, Hillary Clinton shows off that "humor and heart" she promised us more of.

28 I'm virtually certain it won't be Sanders. Too many (yes, even Democrats) are still not down with the Socialist label, and it's way too easy to say, "He's a socialist."

Also, I would think it would be easy enough for the Democrats simply to deny him the nomination given the fact he's not a registered Democrat.

Between Joey Choo-Choo and Ma Clinton? IDK. I would bet on Joey Choo-Choo. Clinton is just off-putting, whereas Biden actually has char-isn't-ma. He's much like Trump in that way, but with less accomplishment.

Not giving the Rs credit enough to WIN those areas, just saying. Her approval ratings, particularly among a key demographic the Democrats have been bleeding out with over 20 years, are abysmal.

OT (but there's an intermittent discussion of it here), the mayor of Irving said something very interesting (Weasel Zippers is where I found the link). About how Clock Boy's family has not consented to releasing records (14-yr old, all the confidentiality restrictions for minors apply) about the school incident. She pretty clearly implied that the full story would make the arrest fairly easy to understand.

My dark (and utterly vain) hope: dammit, somebody just leak the record. We're in 2015, 7 years after the jaw-dropping un-American (and felonious) Joe the Plumber incident. Rules and laws are for non-fascists and non-racists - well, some of the sane people need to start breaking the rules too.

Perfect scenario would be leaking of the records the day before Clock Boy's disgraceful visit to the degraded WH. Of course the "press" would work hard to suppress the info, but it would get out to many.

Obama "inspired" people. Hillary doesn't.

Fraud is only good if the game is close. A depressed left decreases that possibility. Hillary increases the likelihood of a depressed left. Ergo, I see Hillary leading an increased chance for the Republican nominee to win.

I feel compelled to point out that the current occupant of the White House is actually not a particularly likable character, either. Didn't seem to matter much.

Hillary, however, has a decades-long public track record of being, well, Hillary, unlike TFG, so is correspondingly harder for Das Mediawerken to paper over with smiley faces and rainbow unicorn farts.

I feel the same way, which is why I really hope she manages to pull off some kind of win in the primary.

Just think of the depressed hard left. The amount of fight they will push for Hillary is so much less than that they would give for Sanders or Warren. Just think of the very real differences in the ground game.

Posted by: David at September 23, 2015 03:14 PM (+do1l)

I understand the idea, but I don't have a lot of faith in the electorate anymore. The idea of seeing the most radical Donk win the nomination setting the stage for a GOP win of the center is a pretty dangerous strategy, as 2008 taught us. What if the radical wins?

Personally, I'm thinking that a zombie apockyclipse looks damned attractive right now.

196 So...how do you think Hillary will go out?

Will she go all mutually assured destruction and release a lot of info about Obama?

Will she have some health episode and she'll tearfully bow out, reminding us she's given her life -- literally, her life! -- to public service?

Will she claim that all this scandal nonsense is just too much of a distraction and she needs to spend more time with her granddaughter? (OK, couldn't type that without laughing - a graceful exit? LOL)
Posted by: Lizzy at September 23, 2015 03:21 PM (NOIQH)

She'll only go kicking and screaming. I could see her lasting to the convention having bought all of the super delegates and trying her damnest to sneak her way in, and if an when she doesn't win that way, she'll hose the party by keeping as many resources away from the DNC and the Democratic nominee as possible.

2008 was her chance. 2016 was given to her on a silver platter. If she couldn't be contemplative about why she lost in 2008 while knowing she would be able to try again in 2016, she's going to go full rage monster after her party rejecting her again.

Posted by: Lea at September 23, 2015 03:25 PM (lIU4e)

198 found it: weaselzippers, Sept 21:

President Barack Obama has agreed to endorse a presidential campaign by Vice President Joe Biden if he is allowed to pick Biden's running mate, author and journalist Ed Klein reports.

Biden, who has yet to announce whether he will seek the Democratic nomination, is reportedly weighing the offer, according to Klein.

Further, Obama wants Biden to choose a black running mate and commit to serving only one term, then throwing his own endorsement to his vice president, Klein writes on his Ed Klein Confidential blog. [http://tinyurl.com/qd23g85]

Obama reportedly favors former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, one of Obama's close allies.

"Obama has already given Biden carte blanche to use Air Force Two, the official vice presidential plane, to crisscross the country and launch an unofficial campaign," Klein wrote. "So far, Biden has visited several key primary and general election states and hammered GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, charging that Trump is offering a 'sick message' on immigration."

Biden's recent appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," where he tearfully talked about the death of his son, Beau, was even approved by Obama, according to Klein, who said it was intended as "an authentic alternative to the stiff and overly scripted Hillary Clinton."

Ding ding ding!

She's polling terribly in NEPA, which was only nominally red in 2012, awful in Pittsburgh, and only fair in the Collar. Regions Obama held off any balance to his monstrous lead in Philadelphia.
Those same voters exist in NW/C Wisconsin, central and eastern Michigan, all throughout Ohio, and western Virginia.

A Democrat can lose the white vote. But they can't have the bottom fall out for them. That happened across the board in the 2014 midterms, it was beginning to happen (but they stayed home, didn't vote for Romney) in 2012.

209 Take partisan blinders off and look at what OFA did for voter turnout, how they reached their voters, how they deliberately turned poorer white voters in the Rust Belt to Romney in January/Feb 2012, how they systematically checked off names in their database.

The Republicans were trying to drive an oxcart with square stone tires in comparison. Beyond anything else you really do have to hand it to their campaign- its why Messina was hired by UK's Conservative Party for the 2015 election. He delivered.

When Republicans get serious about campaigning again (and toss out the leeches that hop from cycle to cycle with loss after loss), they may see some success.

But they'll actually have to want it.
