How to "Invent" A Clock, Like Ahmad

Looks tough.

I can see now why the kid was so proud of his "invention."

At first I thought this kid was just a geek. Now I feel like I've been played.

Bill Maher is also telling people to get over their Ahmad Outrage.

I can't believe this, but Mark Cuban, Bill Maher, and even Chris Matthews make good points here.

And Jorge Ramos is told to, basically, fermez la boca.

George Pataki is just vaguely there. What a shock on that one.

Just remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

Muslim (check) kid in a NASA shirt (check!!) is arrested for a STEM (CHECKITY CHECKSTER) activity the Monday after 9/11 (check) in Texas (check machine explodes).

Yeah, no.

The most generous reading is that this was a stunt designed to grab some of that sweet, sweet victim swag, which definitely happened in spades.

There are, of course, far more nefarious readings.

Imagine you were the teacher, or the school administrator, who was standing there when he opened that box.

There was once a civilization that was the greatest in the world.

And this civilization was driven more than anything, by invention. Its architects designed buildings that defied gravity. Its mathematicians created the algebra and algorithms that would enable the building of computers, and the creation of encryption. Its doctors examined the human body, and found new cures for disease. Its astronomers looked into the heavens, named the stars, and paved the way for space travel and exploration.

You don't ever want to know the secret because knowing the secret destroys the magic.

Just watch the actors typing on a computer keyboard in a movie scene, but watch the fingers the way a hacker would while watching someone type in a user name - password combination.

107 At least it seems that maher isn't going off of an internal script when he talks.

Maher is pretty smart, he's just a massive narcissist and has a blind spot the size of Alaska when it comes to religion. He's even dumber about it than the silly evangelicals he mocks.

Evan Sayet pegged him perfectly (he used to write for Maher when he was doing Politically Incorrect). When he was in NYC doing PI, he left the studio, walked past lots of regular folks doing jobs to get home. So he got feedback from people who have a job and work hard, and who thought PC leftist stuff was just stupid.

Now he's in California, working on his own show, and he doesn't actually meet anyone who works for a living besides people who rely on his goodwill to survive on the set. So he gets his praise from leftist idiots.

So he went from sounding fairly reasonable to sounding idiotic, because that's where he gets his positive feedback and the attention his ego craves.

He doesn't believe a damn thing except that all religions are bad and wrong.

128 All this talk about Ahmad is making me recall stories of Palestinian 'workplace accidents' where bombs would detonate during class. Damn I love those types of stories.

Up here in Canada, I was walking into a store one day and saw a middle Eastern guy in a wheelchair missing an arm and a leg. Being the horrible racist Islamophobe that I am, I immediately questioned Canada's immigration policies and wondered how he lost the limbs.

I had a few ideas.

Posted by: Stateless Infidel at September 21, 2015 07:46 PM (AC0lD)

129 To NDH and all the other commenters that saw through the story, you were correct.

When I saw the story, I thought it was the usual Zero Tolerance BS, just like the kid with the gun shaped pop tart, the 6 year old sexual predator that (gasp) kissed a girl or the teen terrorist that showed up with an NRA shirt and was suspended.

I was happy that maybe, just maybe someone would point out zero tolerance is idiotic, and if it took a MSM media preferred minority type, that is OK. As long as ZT is destroyed, I really don't care why it is destroyed.

Unfortunately this (clearly) manufactured story is only about our "racism." Achmed's Daddy and his buddies did a really good job making up this story.

Clock-maker's daddy is a Muslim political activist. He has run for president of Sudan a couple of times. Of course, his family lives in the U.S., because who wants to live in a Muslim shithole like Sudan?

This is just an attempted shake-down like the so-called "flying imams" scam a few years back. Bunch of CAIR-trained muzzies deliberately get on a U.S. plane together while acting suspiciously (conspicuously reading from korans, praying out loud to allah, lots of furtive looks around, whispering and gesturing to one another, etc.). They were deliberately trying to raise the passengers' suspicions, hoping they'd be thrown off the plane. It worked, and they were removed from the plane. They then sued the airline for violating their civil rights, and got a big settlement. IOW, the airline paid them, probably hundreds of thousands of dollars, to go away and take the bad publicity with them.

Clock-maker's activist daddy is probably coordinating this current scam with CAIR lawyers, who likely planned the entire thing. The kid is just a pawn.

The Internet is full of people saying "that wouldn't have happened if it were a white kid" in a way that makes the scenario a hypothetical. If it had had fake explosives, with a fake detonator wired to the alarm buzzer, it would have been a slam dunk as a hoax bomb, and little Ahmed would be in the pokey. Hoax bomb is something designed to look like a bomb. There's no parts list defined in the statute.

Looks like a bomb; no innocent reason for bringing it to school; no innocent reason for disrupting class with it.

Legally, I don't think I can find fault with the police's procedure.

Politically, not worth taking him to court, so dropping charges after the fact is also to be expected.

Some form of suspension is warranted, and I haven't heard what's planned there; a day to a week works, but it doesn't matter due to asshole Muslim father.

The only place for overreaction I can see is the principal escalating it to a police investigation ... but even that is justified. A kid disrupting class with actual electronics designed to look like a hoax bomb ought to be looked at carefully.

In Texas we have resource officers in school. They deal with everything from people wandering the halls without a pass to fights to (heaven forbid) shooting back if someone tried to hurt the students.

Anyway, my point is that escalating it to a police investigation was literally a matter of paging the resource officer to come down to the office.

Too many school shootings/bomb plots since Columbine. Even if they knew it was fake they had to be concerned that if left unchecked, the kid might escalate his attention-seeking behavior.
IIRC, there were reports to police about bizarre behavior an threats by the guys who pulled off Columbine - may have even been a lawsuits about police not doing enough to prevent the attack.

Oh no! Sorry to hear that I've never had mine not cook through, but my guess would an issue with either the oven retaining heat or the chicken itself being unrealistic with it's cooking time.

If you want to try again I'd say put them in the oven dry for half the cooking time and then flip them over and see where they are. If they seem close to being done, then put on the sauce and cheese, and if not cook for a few more minutes and then check again. Not nearly as simple that way though! Sorry.

465 When I was 14, I built my own clock. It was a kit, but it had at least a dozen chips in it and transistor drivers for the fluorescent seven segment displays.

I was particularly proud of the 9 minute snooze button because we had a 10 minute requirement for identification in ham radio, so this was a friendly reminder that it was time to ID.

Fast forward to today. Kid opens alarm clock, takes guts out, puts wires on them and mounts it inside a suitcase. Not quite the same.

What Dawkins apparently said was that "_WE_ were all fooled," emphasis added.

Bullshit. Many people smelled a quite odiferous rat about Mini-Mo and his alleged "invention" from the very start.

The family background with CAIR. The suspiciously manufactured-looking appearance of his supposed genius firsthand design. The fact that the family wouldn't allow the release of the police interrogation transcripts while simultaneously claiming all kinds of RAYCISS ELEVENTY and OMG ISLAMOPHOBIA nonsense.

Dawkins, like Sam Harris and Bill Maher, is a libtard who is wrong about 99% of the time (I say this as an atheist).

But when he speaks about Islam, he generally has a sane, coherent take, like the other two.

He realizes it is at odds with feminism and free speech, that it encourages the worst impulses in people and elevates them to virtues. He's taken a lot of flack for acknowledging that.

It is direct, but also a long way away. My Corthell ancestors go back through the Towers to the 11th century Scots. Nobody knows where the Corthells come from--probably changed their names after they were run out of Germany or somewhere, to avoid an unpleasant end--but at least one of them had the good sense to marry into the Towers, who were positively respectable.

It's a lot of fun, but you must realize that if you go back far enough, eventually there are only so many people back there so you are bound to run into somebody who made some sort of history. I prefer to brag about the ones who turned out okay....

One clock kit I'd like to get is one that displays an analog clock face on the screen of an oscilloscope. I have a couple of antique scopes that would look real cool with that set up and running. And I freely admit I don't have the electronic chops to design such a circuit, but I sure could assemble a kit, leastwise as long as it didn't involve mounting surface-mount devices.

707 A couple details:

This device was actually dangerous. The transformer is flopping around loose in a metal case. And his teacher told the police he had plugged it in. And they contradict Ahmed's story in a couple other places, such as what happened in the interview, but guess what...

Because Ahmed is a student, here is a gag order on the police and school that Ahmed's family has refused to lift. This is plainly dishonest. You can't hire a PR firm and then complain about your privacy. You can't claim all this stuff happened (including "torture" according to the father. The MSM/DNC got completely snookered here, just like with mattress girl, Sabrina Erdely, Rathergate, Duke lacrosse etc. Which brings us to the interesting fact that...

Ahmed's father is not just a vocal, nationally known Islamophobia activist, he is a professional Islamist troll. A couple weeks before 9/11, he registered a shell company called Twin Towers Transportation. That's why they already had the PR firm lined up. If you're wondering whether the name could have been innocuous, remember this is the same guy who's been going on and on about how 9/11 made everything so hard for Muslims in the United States. This guy spends more time dwelling on 9/11 than Giuliani or bin Laden did, the name is not an accident.

Posted by: Infidel at September 21, 2015 10:45 PM (K0fOn)

733 Cutler has never finished a season with a passer rating over 90, or in the top 10 rated QBs, despite 10 years of trying to build an offense around him. At one point last year PFF rated him #33 in the league. Cutler would be a fine backup QB (he's never finished below 80 either so he's firmly mediocre) but he's too much of a turnover machine to start in the NFL. Clausen probably sucks too but he deserves a shot since he hasn't really played since his rookie year. They can always try Fales too, and if neither can play, hello top 5 draft pick.

Unfortunately, in today's NFL you really can't win without good (not mediocre) QB play. Look at Brady the other day, 465 yards! So if you don't have a good QB, you're better off with a really bad one because at least you can draft some hope.

787 "Yahoo is breathlessly reporting that Ahmed Sr. pulled all of his kids out of the school. I'm sure they will be missed"

Sudden high winds in that school district as all teachers there let out a sigh of relief.

792 On the bright side, maybe the whole family will be killed in one of the fatal Mecca stampedes that happen literally every year. (Usually at the devil-goat stoning ritual if I'm not mistaken.)

793 NORFOLK, Va. BAE Systems is laying off about 650 workers at its Norfolk shipyard.

According to media outlets, the company said Monday that the layoffs will be effective Nov. 20. The shipyard employs about 1,500 people.

The company said in a statement that the cuts are the result of a decrease in Navy repair work, consistent with the Navys decision to delay several modernization programs and the reduced number of Navy ships homeported in Norfolk.

The announcement comes a week after Huntington Ingalls Industriess Newport News Shipbuilding laid off 480 salaried workers.

No Money, No Ships, No Training, No Readiness

Thanks Fredo

795 He got free shit from Apple, a tour of Google, invited to tour MIT from a doctoral fellow, an invite to the White House, legal representation from CAIR, and 250,000 from GoFundMe, possibly more. Now meeting "diplomats" at the UN

Remember Saudi is the head of the human rights commission. This kid is the poster boy for "islamaphobia"

Asked what his plans for the future are, he told GMA, "That clock was part of my future."

Kid was either delusional or conniving.
NASA's Muslim outreach seem to be working, though.

799 When I was 14 I had an old pen which came apart till it had a kind of depressible spring tube in front. So when I pushed this depressible tube against my arm it looked like I was injecting drugs. This was 1969.

I sat in the front row, right under my teacher, and kept "injecting drugs" in front of him while he was teaching the class. Till he snapped, took me out front for 3 leather straps across my open hands - the standard punishment. That's what I wanted, to push him over the edge, but I didn't do it again. Teenagers are weird.

800 Listen my wife is brown and my kids a bit too, and Ramos and all his patronising kind, who want to use my kids as their political footballs, can take a flying fuck off the eiffel tower or any nearby cliff edge. Excuse my french.

801 I imagine he took the smart ass pos out of school. People are fu king pissed off to be set up and made out to be racist. Imagine he was at risk for a Texas sized ass kicking if he was caught alone. I knew this was a setup five seconds after hearing of it. How anyone could come to another conclusion escapes me. And geek is hardly a criteria for classifying someone as harmless. In case you haven't noticed its not the dockworker Muslim (are there any of those btw) doing fiendish things to take out innocent people. It's the geeks and nerds.

Is the peace sign the new middle finger?
