Quote of the Day I

I came home to find out that my boys received two trophies for nothing, participation trophies! While I am very proud of my boys for everything they do and will encourage them till the day I die, these trophies will be given back until they EARN a real trophy. I'm sorry I'm not sorry for believing that everything in life should be earned and I'm not about to raise two boys to be men by making them believe that they are entitled to something just because they tried their best...cause sometimes your best is not enough, and that should drive you to want to do better...not cry and whine until somebody gives you something to shut u up and keep you happy.

-- Pittsburgh Steeler James Harrison fighting back against the trophy industrial complex

Quote of the Day II

It is one of the conventions of the British parliamentary system that when the government of the day is considering any form of military action, it gives the leader of the opposition access to the highest-level security briefings, so he (or she) understands exactly what is at stake and cannot complain about being kept in the dark. Thus, for example, last month David Cameron invited Labour's acting leader, Harriet Harman, to a high-level security meeting about the threat posed by Isis extremists, against whom an RAF campaign was being considered.

Given Corbyn's recent difficulty in establishing clarity as to whether he prefers Isis to the American military, would Cameron be able to trust him as a secure recipient of security briefings? The same would go for anything involving Nato action, since Corbyn is much more antipathetic to that western defence alliance than he is to Putin.

-- Dominic Lawson on the insane Leftism of likely Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn

How One Man Has Essentially Bought the California Legislature

De Leon and Steyer have been super-glued together of late. As the Bakersfield Californian reported, "Steyer, a major donor to Democrats nationwide, is pouring money into the California Capitol, and de Leon is introducing bills that echo Steyer's environmental agenda." Steyer has appeared at hearings for de Leon's Senate Bill 350, which would mandate a 50 percent cut in gasoline consumption in the Golden State by 2030. The only way to achieve that goal would be to increase prices substantially. Hardest hit by Proposition 39 and the scorched-earth environmentalism of SB 350 would be de Leon's own constituents in East Los Angeles, one of the poorest areas in a state with the highest poverty rate in the nation. Working- and middle-class Californians with long commutes or who drive trucks for a living would suffer the consequences.

How the SJWs Are Burning Down The Hugo Awards To Prove How Tolerant And Welcoming They Are

RD Brewer had this in the sidebar a few days ago and it's worth a read if you have any interest in SF or just want to see how far SJWs are willing to go to avoid losing their grip on an institution.

According to fiery gaming and sci fi pundit @Daddy_Warpig, the opposition to the Sad & Rabid Puppies slates took the form of encouraging voters to choose "no award" for an award category unless a work with appropriate politics was available. Taking it a step farther, many SJW zealots proved their commitment to tolerance, openness and variety by vowing not to read a work found on a Puppies slate under any circumstances.

Like the Death Star's visit to Alderaan, the results of Hugo Awards voting were ugly and unprecedented. 5 major categories including best novella and best short story went with "no award." To put that in perspective, in the previous 60 years of Hugo Awards, a total of 5 "no awards" have been given previously.

Famous American Madams

Including Cora Crane, the common law wife of Stephen Crane of The Red Badge of Courage.

Not long after, Crane was in town, checking into a hotel and presumably meeting Cora. After leaving and heading for Cuba, his ship ran aground. Cora arranged for Crane to be brought back to her hotel. After nursing him back to health, she started to accompany him on his trips, calling herself Cora Crane even though she had never officially divorced the man with whom she'd previously run off to England. (The woman pictured with Crane above is believed to be Cora.)

When Crane died of tuberculosis, he left everything to her. With that, she built a massively successful 17-bedroom mansion in the heart of the red light district in Jacksonville, Florida. That was only her main establishment; she owned several other brothels.

See this is not simply academic. As the left becomes increasingly insane and detached from reality, at what point do sensible and responsible people decide that they cannot be given the reins of power or potentially destructive information? Can we really trust Bernie Sanders with the full presidential briefings?

How far left, how extreme the tilt will people with character, integrity, and some shred of responsibility toward their people and nation allow the left to go before they say "you know what, you're just not adult enough for this"?

53 No offence meant to Texas Rangers' fans because I was going to make this comment no matter how tonight's game turned out, but what a close-run match between two excellent teams. You couldn't have gotten a more evenly-matched game. The starters doing well and screwing up in equal measure; the mid relievers and late; and the closers both evenly matched in their results. And on the bright side for both teams, neither of us were the Yankees tonight!

And the TV feed we have here has the pitch locator screen thingee and the home plate ump did an excellent job of calling the game. There were only about 3 pitches per team that were miscalled by the ump and both the unimportant and important miscalls were also even for both teams. I hope the same ump is used alot in the post season.

This trend has been going on for years where companies are locking down their hardware to force you to go to them for upgrades and support.

Many laptops now come sealed and the memory and hard drives are soldered in and aren't user servicable.

Yeah doesn't seem like a very sound business model. People aren't printing and copying as much as they used to so Xerox is probably taking a bath. Plus now its a lot easier to get overseas products, so they aren't getting the sales they once did. SO yeah. I understand panicking about their bottom line. 75 I worked for a while on the F-35 program. My own feeling was that they are trying to do too much on one airframe. Keep in mind, however, that the government was the one that put out the specifications for the bid.
Also remember that the ME-262 would have been in service much sooner had not Hitler decided that it had to have a ground support role to replace the Stuka.
Keep that one point in mind. If it had been flying a year earlier, air superiority would have swung to the Luftwaffe.

It will be BORING, intentionally so. Yes, a MALE Moron wrote something in the Contemporary Romance category, but it was the most honest fit. 2. The narration drives it, but please do not think it condescending or sarcastic. It is intended to be earnestly naive or shallow. 3. Thanks again for helping a Moron between jobs out.

138 Richard Anderson's name was easy to remember for me because besides the show being a hit at the time... I was going every Monday night at the time for my confirmation classes, and the chief pastor at my church was named Richard Andersen.

(To this day I have fond memories of coming home from those classes and turning on Channel 2 for then-brand-new episodes of "WKRP in Cincinnati," "M*A*S*H" and an almost-completely-forgotten sitcom starring Wayne Rogers and Lynn Redgrave called "House Calls.")

And, Andersen was a pretty serious dude. He had written a book, "The Love Formula," and everything. Was never a smart idea to make pea soup jokes to his face.

I think part of the problem in California is that you have so many influential people, especially in he media/entertainment industry, that are so rich that they con't need to care about the cost of this crap. And since they control the message with the media, their destructive views become accepted.

Sadly, the moderate and lower income people don't understand that the costs don't have to be that high. Those high costs are a direct result of the dumb policies pushed by rich liberals who pretend to give a shit about the poor.

I don't think the F-35 is to the point they're firing active ordnance
from it quite yet. My guess is that for stealth missions it doesn't
have all that stuff hanging off the wings, just the internal bays for a
couple bombs. And the gun, of course.

Posted by: Christopher Taylor at August 25, 2015 11:37 PM (39g3+)

That ordnance on that F-35 is blue, AFAIK any blue striped ordnance is an inert "training" piece, I have a few field artillery shells at home (203mm, 155mm and 105mm)and they're ALL blue-coded. This really helped when a guy called the cops because he saw "three bombs" next to my desk about 10 years ago. Fortunately some local cops knew me and this didn't digress into a SWAT situation, and one of the cops was an ex-Army FIREFINDER operator so he was familiar with howitzer shells

Messerschmitt Me-262: Arrow to the Future. Smithsonian Institution Press. 1980.

June 7 1939 Messerschmitt submits technical proposal for the ME-262. This is before Germany invades Poland.

March 1, 1940 Contract for three flight test and one static test ME-262s awarded.

January 1941 ME-262 prototypes completed. But no engines available.

November 25, 1941 ME-262 V1 flies with one prop engine and two BMW003 engines. Both BMW engines fail.

March 2, 1943, ME-262 V1 flies under pure jet power.

August 17, 1943 ME-262 jigs destroyed in bombing raid on Regensburg.

December 1943 Albert Speer gives production priority to the ME-262.

December 1943 Erpobungskommando 262 starts training.

December 12 1943 Hitler calls for the ME-262 to be used as a jabo.

April 1944 sees first operational sorties by ME-262s.

June 8th, 1944 the notorious Fuhrerbehfel is issued limiting ME-262 production to bomber version only.

I know cops do that; basically there are so many traffic laws its not possible to follow them all so they use little violations to nail people they are worried about or need to check out.

Good eye. I commented faster than was prudent.

Anna..... I figure the conformal/recessed weapons "well" is passe', cause they want each hardpoint to be adaptable to so many different weapons.

That versatility is really a very good thing, except for stealth, drag, range and RCS.

Imagine a "stealthed" FB-111, stretch the fuselage just enough to really max out the internal payload on rotary racks.

Clean external airframe, serpentine air intakes and a few other tweaks. Some more internal tankage, updated engines and 'lectronics.

Would still be a world-beater today, I'd think?

207 Well the kicker about going conformal is something about range and drag.

Those types of stores incur less drag which means more range. And since they are tucked close to the CG of the airframe, does not limit maneuverability.

F-14s could dog-fight while still carrying the under nacelle fuel tanks or with TARPS/AIM-54/GBU carried on center stations.

I think General Dynamics did propose a super stretch F-111 with more fuel and a third engine.

224 March 5, 1943 was the first flight of the Gloster Meteor jet fighter.

January 8, 1944 was the first flight of the Lockheed XP-80.

The British used their Meteor jets primarily as an anti-V1 weapon. The German pilots of JV-44 were confident they could handle the ungainly British jet if they had fought it.

Three YP-80s actually made it to Europe when VE Day was declared.

One thing that chronology shows is that the Luftwaffe RLM never had a sense of urgency to develop the jet fighter. They were confident the war would be won with ME-109s.

Earlier this summer I had a county deputy in NC follow me for the entire time I was in the county. Didn't know it when he started following me because he was in a plain white Dodge Ram pickup truck. I was going 5-8 mph over the speed limit the whole time, and he finally hit the lights as I approached the VA state line.

He told me I had changed lanes X number of times without using my indicator, but he couldn't clock my speed because he was too close. Asked for my license, then asked if I had any warrants or outstanding tickets, when I said "no", he told me start using my signal.

I don't think he actually was doing that, I think he wanted all the cars coming the other direction from VA to the Outer Banks to see that the police were out patrolling that stretch of highway.

I bet that cop was doing the same thing plus seeing if you had any sweet stinky weed in there.

244 The only difference between an ME-262 Schwable and a Sturmvogel were the two wikingschiffs fitted to carry bombs. Both carried 4 Mk. 103 30mm cannons. And Messerschmitt adapted those wikingschiffs to carry extra fuel tanks.

And even before the Fuhrer 'allowed' 1 in 20 ME-262s to be fighters, Galland and others were diverting Sturmvogels to fighter units.

The coastal areas have seawater and muck so no real point.

There are wells inland but aquifers are few and far inbetween. Plus the regulations make it prohibitive.

The closest analogue I know of - to put in a small water wheel on a creek requires impact reports and 10k's of dollars in lawyer fees and permits.

The NorCal AG wells are old wells that are now having to be drilled deeper, if VD Hanson's missives are accurate.

If CA was not planning on spending $100 billion on a fast train to nowhere, I've thought the best idea would be to dot the coast with small, next-gen nuclear power generators combined with desalinization plants.

But no.

274 Anna..... just as an aside.

Back in the '60s n' '70s, a good chunk of my yoot was living under the pattern of Miramar, NAS, San Diego.

Back in the early '60s, they hadn't yet put the ban on supersonic flight over CONUS. And we kids LOVED the booms!

I got to see such a huge number of various aircraft fly in and out of there. My memory is a virtual Museum of Flight from those days. We used to ride the (pre BMX) stripped down, dirt-biked Schwinns up against the perimeter fence, and just watch in awe as F-8 Crusaders came in with their variable-incidence wings cranked up, and our favorites were the F-4 Phantoms coming in on carrier-simulation glidepaths....no flare at the landing, just WHAM onto the runway, then a whole factory's worth of black smoke as they afterburnered away and up for another 'round at the pattern.

The A-4 Skyhawks were nimble, but unremarkable in the pattern and approach. But, a section landing of four A-1d Skyraiders, all landing as one, without a carrier-break for separation? Free. Air. Show.

And many was the pilot that gave a wag of the wings to the half dozen kids on bikes, below.

I love the smell of freshly burnt JP-4. It smells not only of freedom, but of youth, dreams and adventure itself.

No one who has ever spent time up against that fence, can ever doubt that airplanes aren't something more that just aluminum, steel, plastic and wiring.

They fly with the soul of every hand that made them, serviced them, fixed them and piloted them.

And especially, with the hearts and dreams of the kids who watched them fly, and whose spirits soared with their every bank and turn.

I'm Jim, and I'm an airplane addict.

301 While listening to this glorious old New Order music, I halted on a theory: During the Cold War, Soviet agitprop music was faux-patriotic and optimistic and overly triumphalistic. Meanwhile, in the closing decades of the Cold War in the West, there was punk to unleash anger on hippies; the likes of Joy Division and New Order to release anger not at capitalism, but the darkness within; and straightedge hardcore to direct rebellion at excess. I myself went through all phases. The West was more culturally equipped then to deal with existential threats. Just a thought as I sip too much booze.

308 Yeah the global economy approaching the Schwarzchild radii of the financial drain is pretty scary.

And it will happen because re-arranging deck chairs does not save the sinking passenger liner.

I sat next to a very pretty girl in Midway airport who was a bit chubby, had her long hair dyed dead black, sported a nose ring, Doc Martens, and kept playing with a mirror and some dead blackish red lipstick. She kept holding the mirror up at arms length over her head to look at herself, so that everyone could see her armpit hair. Trump's been pretty consistent on certain issues for a looooong time. He's been the same on immigration since at least 1999. He's been the same on China for probably as long. He was against NAFTA from the get-go.

He's built REAL things, not just numbers on paper like Wall St. He wants a strong America so he can keep on building things.

As Rudy Giuliani told Greta the other night: no one ever has any idea how someone will govern until they are in the WH. But looking at Trump's record of achievement and opinion, he's very consistent.

If all he does is stop the Chamber's chokehold on the GOP and build that damn wall, he will have accomplished more for America than all the Congresscritters combined. But, he will do more than that.

362 Anna, that still proves my point. Even at that late date, had the ME-262 been put into production as an air superiority airframe, it could have certainly changed the battle at that point in time. The only other airframe being tested was the British Comet, if I'm not mistaken and it was a long way from production. The US was sadly lagging in jet aircraft.

Posted by: Old Blue at August 26, 2015 12:18 AM

I dunno, dude... There's a fair bit of historical assumptions about the 262. IIRC, from my research into the stuff, the Hitler bomber interference didn't impact production as much as proposed. The 262 was developed as a fighter bomber, as per requirements on all fighters, early on. Did it slow production? Not really. Not at the crucial time. When it really counted, producing a fighter specific version wouldn't have resulted in many more than what they got anyway, which wasn't many. The training/retraining of crews for one purpose, then another and back again etc, was a bigger fuck up than the designation was. From what I could discern from the data was that it couldn't impact the war in the air in a game changing manner, when it could have done so. Not enough. Later on, in late 44, when production was able to meet higher targets, and Hitler again demanded bomber specific production, the numbers would not have met the need to alter the outcome. They would have incurred some higher losses on the allies, but the allies would not have been forced to change a thing, really. Besides, the Lutwaffe was killing more of it's own pilots than the allies were, due to the whole training/transfer thing. It's an interesting what if? and the 262 COULD have changed everything, had it been made in sufficient numbers. But, Germany never even approached that output at it's best rate.

383 In a way, the 262 as a bomber made more sense than a fighter. The whole 262 as interceptor was a pipe dream... they couldn't produce enough, fast enough to acheive anything significant in time. At least as a bomber they had a specialist aircraft that could perform tactical missions without being shot down as a gaurantee. I'm not saying it was the right decision, it wasn't really, but it was as logical in the final washup as trying to produce a handful of interceptors to do not much really than be a pain in the ass.

He was at the 1988 Republican National Convention and told Larry King he was a Republican. He gave $$ to Dems, yes, but he says it's because he does so because it's the only way to be into real estate in NY (and he's the 1st to say that that is what's wrong with our political system). Plus, Reagan used to be a Dem who signed a pretty liberal pro-abortion bill as Gov of CA. But, I support converts. Converts mean they are willing to learn and are willing to admit when they are wrong. Trump used to be pro-choice (altho he's always said that he doesn't personally like the idea of abortion), but the whole point of the pro-life movement is to convert people and win their hearts and minds until one day we're the majority (which is already happening).

I'm just happy that when Trump changes his mind on something, it's usually toward the conservative side of things. Like Churchill said (paraphrase), "If you're aren't liberal in your 20s you're heartless, but if you're not conservative in your 40s, you're brainless." Now, I've been conservative my whole life, but I understand everyone's different.

Posted by: Old Blue at August 26, 2015 01:17 AM

True. But, German production increases were far more significant with established lines of types. With something like the 262, a new paradigm of technology suffering teething problems, we're talking about numbers in the handfuls. The Germans could never have switched production from 109's and FW190's to 262's quick enough and completely for the 262 to be able to deliver on it's actual promise. If they had managed a significant %age of fighter production, instead of 109's in 1943...THEN it could have changed the air war... at least for awhile. But that was never going to happen in 1942 to 1943, regardless of the designation/production thing. By the time things were possible, production wise, to pump out threating numbers, in late 1944, it wa far too late.

408 Another problem with Me-262 production was how many airframes were wasted testing things that could wait.

The 262 A-1a/U3 could be justified since nothing else the Luftwaffe had for photo-recon lived long enough.

For bomber, that is what the Arado 234 Blitz was for.

But things like using three Me-262s to test an electro-accoustical radar. The range was a mere 750m. That was a waste. With He-219s in service, so was the conversion of Me-262 B-1as trainers as NachtJagers was another diversion of scarce resources.

Though American bomber crews should be extremely thankful that X-4 missile tests never proceeded. Scary enough they were thinking of doubling the number of R4M rockets.

415 Aslan's Girl, the words "strong America" make me shudder. We've spent the last 150
years building a leviathan of a centralized state that can crush anyone
it really wants to crush. You want it to be stronger. I want it to be
dead. You think it will be used to destroy people you consider a threat
to you. It will be used to destroy you. You are the real threat.

The

state is not your friend. The DHS, FBI, police, ICE, and military are
not your friends. They're agents of violence who work in the
interests of those with power. Hint: that's not you and it never will
be. You get in the way. You are a troublemaker. You are the target and
that won't change.

Trump's public statements (and similar
statements made by Walker, Christie, and others) lead me to believe he
will increase the power of the state. I bitterly oppose that because I
see the danger in it. Please wake up and see what's coming before it's
too late.

SMFH, I find
that people who use the word "strong" in reference to

so with regard to executive branch agencies. And I've seen no evidence that Trump
cares for the free market or has any experience with it. He has plenty
of experience with cronyism, but that's an entirely different subject.
And I see absolutely no connection between Trump and men like
Rockefeller and Ford, who made money building products and services
people wanted. Trump has managed to bribe government
officials and seduce dupes into bogus development schemes that went
nowhere. They're not even close to the same thing.

Trump is no Rockefeller or Ford (only a handful of people reach that level) but you really know nothing about Trump's history if you think he hasn't built products that people wanted. Trump has used government, without any question, but you can't fault the builder for taking tax abatements that have been offered to them.

Trump was a prolific builder in Manhattan. He was one of the most highly skilled of all the builders, there. Trump helped pull Manhattan out of the dead as he really started his major constructions right at the end of the fiscal disaster there. Trump was able to efficiently skyscrapers in a city (which is no mean feat) and he helped bring back sections of town. Trump Tower was the first piece of residential real estate to sell for over $1000/sq ft.

I don't know where this myth that Trump hasn't done anything but screw people over comes from. The guy has had bad investments - for sure - but he was a very capable builder who made a lot of people a lot of money and he built things that people liked.

447 I'm suffering from a rare condition:

Munchausen Penumbra Syndrome.

MPS sufferers such as myself endure social disapproval and interpersonal suspicion for failing to care for a loved one who appears to be sick.

The problem is that only the MPS sufferer knows that the loved one isn't sick. So the main symptom of Munchausen Penumbra Syndrome is "appearing to be a heartless asshole," even though the appearance is false.

Here's my situation:

I have a close relative who is borderline mentally ill -- she can function as a "normal" person in society, but behind closed doors is seriously, seriously screwed up.

And the main way she responds to "stress" (usually imaginary or delusional stress) is to psychosomatically fabricate or exaggerate or unwittingly cause some kind of mysterious medical ailment. She does this, I've observed innumerable times over the decades, to garner the sympathy and attention of doctors.

So she very frequently "presents" at hospitals or doctors' offices with "medical emergencies" like "heart palpitations" or "skin eruptions" or "exhaustion" or "intestinal discomfort" or any number of similar symptoms which can be (and in her case inevitably are) self-induced, or wildly exaggerated, or both.

Hundreds of times doctors have sent her home with a bottle of anti-anxiety pills and a diagnosis with a Latin name that means "You-Are-Crazy-Itis," and she is usually quite pleased by this, thinking it means that her symptoms were taken seriously, never bothering to examine the meaning of the Latin term. She never quite seems to understand that they're just trying to get rid of her. One doctor even once prescribed placebo pills for her, indicating as such on the bottle, and she actually thought they were real medicine -- and they worked! Because her ailment, as always, was imaginary.

Now, this may all be a bit comical to read about, but as anyone who has had a loved one with this personality trait can attest, dealing with people who have Munchausen Syndrome (the official name for her psychological disorder) can be nightmarish, because it never ends. Over and over and over the crises erupt, only to evaporate when the doctor pretends to take her seriously.

Over the last year, various new-ish friends of this loved one, unaware of her mental illness and her "boy who cried wolf" history, have taken her claims of sudden sickness seriously. And then when they find out that I, a close loved one, basically do nothing to "solve" the "crisis," they think badly of me, and assume I must be a completely heartless asshole, for ignoring the medical emergency of a loved one.

I can't just explain to them bluntly that their friend is a borderline nut-case -- they wouldn't believe me anyway.

So my only course is to sit here and silently endure their disapproval and disgust, suffering with Munchausen Penumbra Syndrome silently.

Maybe I should start a support group called LOOMS: Loved Ones Of Munchausen Sufferers.

476 Primordial, Trump has repeatedly used the power of government connections to "get things done" when the private sector didn't suit him.

And here's his statement on the Kelo decision:

"But the fact is, if you have a person living in an area that's not even necessarily a good area, and government, whether it's local or whatever, government wants to build a tremendous economic development, where a lot of people are going to be put to work and make area that's not good into a good area, and move the person that's living there into a better place--now, I know it might not be their choice--but move the person to a better place and yet create thousands upon thousands of jobs and beautification and lots of other things, I think it happens to be good."

Government isn't the source of "economic development." That's not capitalism. That's fascism. And "I know it might not be their choice"? It's their own damn private property! I don't see how anyone can look at this guy and think he believes in private property and individual liberty. He doesn't. He believes in using the power of the state to his own ends. I don't.

But what I do believe in is sleep. And that's what I'm doing now. Good night and thanks for at least listening to my concerns.

I hear you ... and Kelo was one of the worst decisions, ever. I don't defend Trump on that - including the point that Kelo wasn't about government building anything but government giving private property over to others to build things.

From Trump's point of view, though, you have to keep in mind that he came from New York where Robert Moses had that power, himself. And he did do very important things for New York - but, again, it was all government building, not Moses snatching property for private builders.

Trump needs to re-examine his opinion on this (and I would bet that he does) and revisit the issue. I have little doubt that he would have something to say about the actual Kelo property (I think it's still a vacant lot) and what he now thinks about that particular case and the more general idea of giving governments the power to force transfers of private property from one individual to another (not for government infrastructure projects) just to be able to claim that tax collection might rise.

On this note (private to private) Rockefeller Center is an interesting case. When it was being built they tried to buy up all the properties but one owner refused to sell. So they built Rockefeller Center around him (and left a townhouse intact on the opposite corner, for aesthetics).

Several family members are addicts/alcoholics, and people can't understand why my sister and I didn't drop everything to go "take care of the situation" whenever it happened. Well, when you have been cleaning it up for years, you just get tired of doing it, and we have our own lives to live.

It's his second, actually. He ran in the primary for the Reform Party (Ross Perot's former supporters) in 2000, but then dropped out. The reason he gave for doing so was apparently party in-fighting.

Given that, I suspect that he's been thinking about this run for a while ( at least 16 years). But each year, there was an obvious Republican front-runner at the outset (and the Dems will never nominate the guy) every tome the election rolled around. 2016 has been the first wide-open Republican primary in a very long time, so he's gone ahead and thrown his hat in with a major party this time.

Much in the same way that the Oakland Raiders will never survive the first round of the playoffs before they are relegated to the triple-A bracket of the California Prison League.

This will result in a 53% reduction in stadium stabbings, but little improvement for their prospects of a championship.

Vox does not include THE VIDEO ... they, in the current version of their article, post a Twitter message with the video ... which conveniently does not load. Watch for an article update.

Vox writes that Ramos "asked a question" ... the video proves differently.

Vox writes that Trump had Ramos tossed out ... the video suggests that security simply did their job.

539 Yeah doesn't seem like a very sound business model. People aren't printing and copying as much as they used to so Xerox is probably taking a bath. Plus now its a lot easier to get overseas products, so they aren't getting the sales they once did. SO yeah. I understand panicking about their bottom line. This probably seemed all genius and high tech to pitch to the board, but its just not a smart move. All you're doing is driving people to move away from your product.

Seems to me there is an underserved market for a quality inkjet printer that is spec'ed to use "generic" ink. Build it mostly of metal, with nearly all wear parts user replaceable, especially the print head itself. A metal frame would ensure a rigid structure, and that alone would prevent a host of paper-feed problems.

I'd happily pay two or three hundred dollars for such a machine, if the manufacturer guaranteed to support it for at least 20 years, and if the generic ink cost under ten dollars to fill (all of it). The current business model is to damn near give away the printer, then rape you bloody for a new cartridge. And many of the fuckers are putting an expiry date on their cartridges, so they will quit working on such-and-such a day, even if they still conatain ample ink.

542 Sucks being on the left coast. It takes me 2 hours to read all the ONT comments, by then all of you have gone shut eye.

I gotta correct all the F-35 stuff. Yes, the blue paint is for inert bomb bodies, used for all the compatibility and WEPSEP tests. That is a developmental F-35A, you can tell from all the registration dots for doing the video time history data analysis of the weapon separations. I did that work on F-117A back in the day.

Those aren't JDAMs. Those are 6 GBU-12s, with 2 AMRAAMS, AND 2 AIM-9X's on the outer wing pylons.

It is shown in 'Truck Mode', as in bomb truck, for missions after we've pounded all the air defense systems into the dirt, and we don't have to go in stealthy any longer.

And yes, we have tested em live already. USMS has declared IOC (Initial Operational Capability) with F-35B. That means we've tested the entire 'go kill something' mission chain of events, with integration of the stealth, nav, mission systems, flight envelope, weapons testing, up to and including, precision guided 'booms' on target.

But I ended up going, 'cause back me up on this, fellas once you've seen one woman naked, you...pretty much wanna see the rest of 'em naked. 552 For some reason, I'm reminded of my first roommate in college.....a guy we'll call Dan Booter. First time I met him -- a short, stocky, athletic, tanned, blonde guy -- he walked into the room, allowed that everyone called him "Boots" and unpacked a volleyball and a Bible. I can't remember if a beach-towel was the third item or not.

Sensible people might unpack things to make their bed, or organize their desk, or set-up their shelves. Boots was ready for a perpetual day-at-the-beach. Plus superficial Christianity.

But it only got worse. He didn't even make it through orientation week before he scored with a freshman cutie -- which immediately became part of his nightly prayers.

So let's put this into context -- A is confident, athletic, goofs along without plans, pious but sinning, scores with girl in a matter of days. B is nearly two years younger (due to skipping a grade), quite a bit flabbier, socially awkward, scheming and wargaming my way through college to the point that I later graduated in 3-2/3 years with a degree that most students needed 5 years to get.

And A prays every night where B can hear: "Dear lord, forgive me for despoiling Sally Goodthighs. I allowed the inner demons of my lust to take advantage of her friendship. When she kissed me after I held her close, in fellowship, I could not help myself before I had rubbed myself shamelessly against her body. After kissing her tongue, I shamelessly moved on to tongue her nipples. Since she had let me remove her top to do so, I took it upon myself to continue shedding clothes....."

It read exactly like the "Dear Penthouse: I never thought anything like this would ever happen to me...." except that it started with "Dear Lord, forgive me for....." and ended with "I beg Thy forgiveness. Amen."

I'm still suffering. Fortunately, I managed to trade that Sadist for a different roommate shortly thereafter.
