If it is an Air Force plane, it is 1500 hours. If it is a Navy aircraft, it is 6 bells. If it is an Army aircraft, the big hand is on the 12 and the little hand is on the 3. In all seriousness, "soldier" is a commonly-accepted term in civilian circles for persons in the military. It is, as Smart Military Blogger-types above have noted, not an accurate term when used that way with respect to the US Armed Forces. In that context, "Soldier" = member of the US Army, as opposed to other branches.

Funny story. So my buddies and I are out cruising looking for a good place to eat. We pull into a steak joint and are about to get out when this.. woman... who weighs about as much as all four of us combined waddles past toward the door. She's wearing leotards (what they used to call yoga pants) stretched so tight you can hear the cloth straining, and its showing all every pock mark of her mottled fat. As one we settled back in to the truck and drove away, no longer hungry. I mean, okay some people get really heavy. That happens, and while I am sure they could do more to lose weight, I'm not exactly the most disciplined man on earth either. But... at least cover it up a little. Please? I disagree about Teh Mooch. Fifty is NOT old! I'm the same age as her, and I am in much better shape than she is. In fact, most of my friends who are that age and older who run look far better than her! As far as I can tell, she only works out her arms--the lower half of her body is a big, old cottage cheese mess (just Google the pics of them at the Grand Canyon and look for the ones of her in her short shorts several years ago). She is a very odd pear shape with absolutely no boobs. I am sick and tired of her being foisted upon the American public as a style icon and fashionita. She is neither. I also think that she wears a lot of clothes that are truly unflattering to her shape because she likes them. Like her husband, she is extremely arrogant--in the Kim Il Sung/Kim Jung Ill mode where they think they know better and can do better than everyone else. I'm sure that staffers (she has over 25 of them) have tried to tactfully steer her away from some of her terrible fashion choices, but she just plows ahead because she knows better. (Although, given their penchant for surrounding themselves with sychophants, perhaps no one on her vast staff is willing to speak up, so perhaps there is that emperor's new clothes kind of thing going on.)

Refresh the page two minutes later and it's now shot up 100 and is only down 500 for the day. A minute later -- it's now down 612. It is rising and falling as much every few minutes as it normally does in a entire day.

Most MBA's I know would be writing covered calls against their position on something as widely held as SPY. You'd have REALLY cleaned up if you had sold some calls a couple of strikes above market value.
But... then again.... you have no idea what Im talking about do you. Posted by: fixerupper at August 24, 2015 03:38 PM (8XRCm) _____________ I did all that. And I realized it's no better than just long term dollar cost averaging. You'll figure it out eventually as well. What yuo're trying to do is time the market. And it doesn't work long term. You, and all the other Cramer wanna-be day traders think you can time the market better than everyone else. You can't. You never will be. But oh well, a fool and his money..... Ah, Chique Afrique, it's because there is absolutely no shame in America any more. Although, I must come clean and admit that when I wear running tights, I don't have a long top covering up my butt--I don't want to have any excess fabric flapping around when I run. It's about aerodynamics! I also wear yoga pants with a t-shirt too. I don't even think of it as lacking decorum but being comfortable. If my butt was too big and offensive, I would cover it up. Fair enough. I was with the 82d for three years, did a combat jump into Grenada and then spent 8 years with a NG Special Forces Group. She's not in athletic shape and she's no model but I still think her body looks ok. Granted, I don't think women need to be particularly slim to look good. Also, I'm a 36 year old who recently put on a decent amount of weight and looks at pics of her old much skinnier self with some humorous horror. I think I look healthier and happier with the weight (plus I finally have boobs!). And looking super fit is just not a priority for me. Of course, this may be strong self_-deception, LOL. Plus I don't think anyone would call me fat even now, which makes me wonder how skinny I actually was. But, it's Michelle of Let's Move All You Disgusting Fat Proles, so you do have a point. My husband always says to me (when I'm mad at him, of course, haha!) "Anger makes a face look ugly." I think Michelle Obama is angry--a lot. I think she is pissed off because she thinks she is entitled to nice thing because she "made sacrifices" to be the wife of Barak and the mother of two children. I think she grew up quite spoiled, probably a "daddy's girl". I think she gets mad because people love who they think her husband is, and she "knows the real truth about him". They were in huge debt before he made it big with his stupid book. They bought homes that they could not afford (I'm sure because she thought she deserved it), and I think that they spent money on expensive things as well. Remember, they had to get help from Tony Rezko to buy their house (and how they qualified for that loan was definitely underhanded). I think she is a profligate spender because she is unhappy--why she needs to go on nice vacations and buy expensive outfits. And she really does think that she deserves everything she gets.

The difference between the services can be summed up by what happens when a Marine, a Soldier, a Sailor and and Airman are told to "secure a building" as their objective.
With the Marines the Marine leads his platoon to bring sufficient firepower against the building, destroying it in order to effectively neutralize it as any threat to friendly forces. The Soldier will bring in a Company to establish a perimeter surrounding the building with Observation Posts set up at elevated, defend-able locations. The Sailor will, at the end of the work day, turn off all the lights and lock the doors. The Airman will secure a building by signing a five year lease with an option to buy. FWIW, there's a new Hindi anti-terrorism action movie opening this weekend, Phantom, with Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif. Trailer with subtitles at the link, shout-out to America about halfway through. (Re: complaints about the actors in the linked reviews, Khan is the Nawab of Patuadi in real life, and Kaif is half-British and grew up in Hong Kong, her English sounds American, so presumably her Hindi sounds non-native, critics are always complaining about it. I like them both, usually.) Indian movies about killing terrorists tend to be satisfyingly non-morally-conflicted, I've found.
