The alleged idea... Actually since ersatz semi auto AK47s from US sources cost far more than fully auto actual AKs available in Mexico there was zero chance that the purchasers of these weapons didn't know they were being provided by government informant's money. The Cartels sure weren't trying to buy them. They only took them because the feds were supplying them - effectively at zero cost.

If illegal aliens get to pick and choose which laws they'll obey and which ones they won't, why can't the rest of us do the same? If an illegal alien can choose to violate immigration laws, not pay income taxes, not register or pay taxes on his vehicle, etc., then why can't the rest of us do the same? All laws should be optional for everyone: you only have to comply with a law if you personally agree that the law is just, or if the law serves your personal convenience. Very good. Tightening up the narration a bit could help. But even if you don't, I encourage you to show it to teens. Some elements of this issue could go right over their heads (if they're informed of them at all) but you make it pretty cut and dried, linking Nazism and abortion quite logically and honestly.

Doing so has a built-in trap, though: thanks to human nature, it's not easy to convince average, behind-on-their-bills, struggling people (that is, not politicians living off the fat of the land) that Free Shit is a Dangerous Drug, and that the recipients are beholden to the givers.
When I was in hospital years ago, I was given a shot of morphine. Despite what I know about the dangers of drugs, addiction, and all that, it was freekin' wonderful. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
The drugs Democrats peddle are just as dangerous, and they feel damn near as good. What you gonna do against that?

This is tricky, scary, and weird.
Purposely holding off until the GOP bubbles up a candidate could be to their benefit.
Holding off to NOT show off their marxist/commie/socialist rundown of candidates could be to their benefit.
Holding off until the GOPe picks Jeb! would be smart for them, because that means there won't be any true debate, so no fear when the time comes.
On the other hand, Hillary's brand is badly damaged and who's left? So people may not be too familiar with any other candidates causing only the hardcore base to come out and vote.
(I didn't actually read the piece.)
I did see a silly? piece this morning saying the Democrats should choose Trump as their candidate over Hillary.

Not "welfare is bad for you," but "If Democrats want to get rid of poverty, why do so many of the policies make more of it?"
Not "Licensing / regulation is bad" but "Do you realize how hard it is to start a business?" Or even, "Shame that the only people who can afford to do business here are the big nationals. Wouldn't it be cool if local businesses could compete?"

i tell them it really doesn't, that the research on fetal stem cells seems to be limited or unhelpful but thats just turning up the cognitive dissonance. it needs a final skewer to make that work but i have yet to find one.

People need a hero and a villain.
Nothing is the fault of the poor. It's all a conspiracy by the people with money who took all good stuff for themselves while leaving nothing for the common folk.
To turn things around, you can't be subtle. You need to demonize the democrat party as the reason people are poor.
Poor families are poor because their children can't read. They can't read because democrats sold out to the teachers union in exchange for their votes.
Poor families are poor because fathers paid into Social Security their whole lives and then died after only collecting a year or two. If their family was able to inherit the whole amount, they could buy a house or start a business.
Democrats prevented that. They want the poor to be exactly that - poor.
There is no reason not to use exactly that type of approach. Democrats are evil and want to hurt the poor.
This is the message we need for 2016.
