Sunday. Big plans today. Price checking pressure washers at Sam's Club, and coming home with a rotisserie chicken.

I know, I know. "Stop flaunting your fancy lifestyle in our faces, krak/t!"

What can I say?

I has it.

15 Off to prep veggies for Chinese later today; doing the prep before the heat sets in makes cooking later easier and less sweaty because, as we all know, sweat is not a seasoning.

Sliced boneless chicken thighs with cashews, asparagus, orange pepper, carrot, onion, cremini 'shrooms, garlic, ginger, hot dried chilis and a homemade sauce of fresh squeezed orange juice, orange zest, some bottled Koon Chun sauce called Chee Hou (Koon Chun makes the best bottled sauces, available in your local Asian/Chinese grocery; their Hoi-Sin is to die for, thick, like pudding), garlic chili sauce, lite soy and rice wine vinegar. Maybe some teriyaki or a splash of dark sesame oil or a little fish sauce, too. We'll see about those last bits once the basic sauce is made. My Chinese never comes out tasting the same, which is half the fun. The other half, of course, is eating it.

I think those who are predicting Trump to implode any day now are whistling past the graveyard. His biggest enemy is his own ego. For now, it is standing him in good stead against the MFM. But it's a weapon that can easily blow up in his face. He has to control it and that ability is iffy.

But, he's good for the process. I cheer his candidacy.

86 Pressure Washers from Sams. Got one from there in 2011. Black Max (Homelite) 2700PSI, Honda motor. Pressure washed entire cedar sided 2 story house and rather large deck top and underside. Pressure washed boat dock twice. Pressure washed pontoon boat probably 7 or 8 times. Worked very well up until yesterday when it lost pressure. The pump is shot. New pump: $170 - $219. New unit: $329.00

The motor is running great (first pull start this season) and the washer is still in great shape. Pumps crapping out is common on residential grade units. Since I can replace it myself easily, I will replace the pump once.

"I am not here as a serf or vassal. I am not begging my lords for mercy. I'm a born-free American woman, wife, mother and citizen. And I'm telling my government that you've forgotten your place. It's not your responsibility to look out for my well-being, and to monitor my speech. It's not your right to assert an agenda. I take inventory on what hurts, how much and how many systems are affected.

Lately the numbers haven't been looking good so I take my pleasures where I find them as I find them.

I try to treat everyone how I'd want to be treated.

And since I don't believe we're actually discussing strategy that will be implemented, a little insanity is not out of order. That said I can understand how those who are super serious might take offense at that glib attitude.

And to them I say phttt!

Most of the world's problems stem from people taking themselves too seriously.

If they evenly distribute everyone ethnically, there will be no black Congressional districts. There would likely be no blue states if you broke up concentrations of select people and evened them out across the country.

But you have to know that it will only be used selectively, in exactly the opposite way to evenness. It'll be used to break down CERTAIN group concentrations, but certainly not others.

108 Maureen Dowd: Starbucks' Howard Schultz Urged to Challenge Hillary

Howard Schultz, the chairman and CEO of Starbucks, is being urged to challenge Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Schultz, 62, is getting encouragement from supporters because they believe "the time is right for someone who's not a political lifer," New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd said on Saturday. "It may be a tempting proposition."

Raised in low-income housing in Brooklyn, Schultz later graduated from Northern Michigan University. He bought Starbucks in 1988 and built the company to where its operating income totaled $939 million in its most recent quarter, on $4.9 billion in sales.
...

Schultz also once owned the Seattle Supersonics.

"He has strong opinions, and even position papers, about what he calls the fraying American dream," writes Dowd, who has long criticized Clinton and former President Bill Clinton.

She referenced the book Schultz co-wrote last year, "For Love of Country: What Our Veterans Can Teach Us About Citizenship, Heroism, and Sacrifice."

110 What they will do is bully the locations with low number into building and rezoning for low income housing and promotion of same in the nearest location where the desired demographic is in abundance.

What this is is a blatant attempt to capture people's money.

People move to secure better facilities for less.

Better whatever doesn't matter.

This leaves the cities with less productive citizens while their costs increase. Thus we have Detroit and a few other prime examples.

That's all this is, a wealth transfer scheme. Since they can't steal the money from people directly or they manage to secure it from the cities's grasp, they're going to move the problematic citizens to the wealth.

This MAY cause people to move back to the cities because if you're going to live in squalor and pay through the nose for others then you might as well live closer to your job.

It's not going to happen easily and can be thwarted by refusing to take HUD money by the areas targetted.

Unlike many past civil rights laws and actions, this one strikes me as not even being well-intentioned. Some of Elbee Jay's legislation meant well (probably) and could have smoothed out an uneven playing field if it hadn't gotten into the hands of the Grievance Brigade.

This, from Choom Boy, is simply mean-spirited and racist. Just like his race-based databases (which no one talks about, so he has gotten away with slamming another nail into the nation's coffin), it is a blatant, racist, Stick It To The Man payoff to "his" people.

141 Cover Oregon Scandal Illustrates the Arrogance and Audacity of Failed Big Government

...

In Oregon, Governor John Kitzhaber and his administration were confident the state would lead the way, setting the example for many others, in how it would set up its state Obamacare exchange and administer the signs-up for the program. After spending more than $300 million setting up the state's health care exchange, not a single citizen of the state signed up for Obamacare via the website before it was closed down. The Cover Oregon failure was such a political liability, for a governor in a heated battle for reelection in 2014, that Kitzhaber appointed his chief political advisor and campaign consultant, Patricia McCaig, to lead and carry out the closing of the site to protect the governor's campaign for reelection.

In the process, they came up with the brilliant idea to deflect attention from their own glaring incompetent and rotten corruption and squandering of about $300 million in Cover Oregon by blaming the whole fiasco on Oracle, the information technology firm they brought to try to fix the doomed health care exchange website. They not only blamed Oracle for their failure to make Cover Oregon work, they filed a lawsuit against the company claiming they were responsible for the failure.

While the lawsuit against Oracle is wasting time and resources in the court system in Oregon, there are still many unanswered questions about how and why Cover Oregon failed to sign up a single citizen to Obamacare, and where all that money was spent. Taxpayers were taken for $300 million and no one appears to know where all that money went.

What pisses me off about this discussion of PP is that even if money wasn't fungible and being used for abortions, tax money is still going to support Dem campaigns so in essence, we are subsidizing leftist campaigns that support shit like abortion and a raft of other radical shit, against our will.

No way in hell this argument can be justified (except in Washington, where it will, and where it will garner the support of Repub politicians probably subsidized by PP, as well.)

"Black was a staunch supporter of the Conservative Party during the 1980s and publicly voiced her admiration of Margaret Thatcher, stating in 1993 that Thatcher "put the Great into Great Britain". In April 1992 she appeared on stage at a Conservative Party rally and made prominent calls for the party's re-election under the leadership of John Major. But in an interview in 2004 with The Guardian, Black claimed that she was "apolitical". The Liverpool Echo also quoted her as saying: "as for the politics thing, I'm not a Conservative."

Cedar is a pretty soft wood so, personally, I'd be reluctant to pressure wash it.

We have a deck made of Trex composite that ought not be pressure washed, according to sources, for fear of damaging the harder outer layer and exposing the softer material underneath. I use Corte-Clean composite deck cleaner to clean it instead. Mix it up with water, spray it on, let it set for about twenty minutes, with light scrubbing, then rinse off. It might serve your purpose.

193 Morning, Glories!

We got the last of the heavy furniture out of my late cousin's apartment, yesterday (a day late, but it's a weekend so we had slack). She had about three generations of stuff crammed in her little place.

We were working 'til Midnight with a couple of muscular yout' and me. When I say heavy furniture, I mean "should have arranged for professional movers" heavy. Big electric recliner, electric hospital bed, appliances that we had to wreck things (a tiny bit) to get out of there.

Today, I am sore as I haven't been in a long while, certainly since my weeks-long illness last fall. Used muscles I haven't used in a while. Like this one.. ow! and this one.. ow!

Feels kind-of good actually. To know I can still do such things and not be totally hospitalized in the morning.

Plus, I don't think I considered politics or the world's situation the whole time. Which is good, because I couldn't drink 'til we were done. Hahaha. Urk.

197 I think Obamas comment in Africa on a third term was two things. One is to bait conspiracy theorists, so in turn he and his sycophants in the media can mock them. Two in the event that his agitating for civil unrest blooms into a race war around election time he can ignore or suspend the 22nd amendment. Nobody in government that will oppose him, not in any significant numbers anyways, that could be an effective political movement to oust him. Yes, I long for the days that a comment like this would be considered "crazy talk".

The city near me has rifle ranges in the schools, and target shooting is very popular. Now growing up in a small rural school this was natural. But here I guess it's just to help the city kids shoot better. (so says the local Gannett paper, I am surprised they wrote such a story, with pride in the kids loving the ranges)

210 @86 I did the same last season on a Craftsman. The Italian replacement pumps are far superior to the OEM, so you're making a good investment. For a while there, it looked like Sears would wait until they had enough pump complaints on any given model, and then discontinue it.

Stands to reason that you're supposed to completely drain the whole rig at the end of the "season" (presuming you have "seasons"); that isn't as easy as it appears. You either have to suck up some anti-freeze into the pump chambers, or keep it in a semi-heated location so it can't freeze. This has been working for me.

Also, I got one of those real cheap pressure nozzles they advertise as gutter cleaners. I wouldn't use it for that, but for a lot of jobs you'd otherwise fire up a pressure washer to do (detritus between slabs, mud off the wheelwells), it's adequate. So I use the power rig a lot less now.

212 One of the guns at the aborted attacked on the "Draw Mohammed" contest in Texas was part of "Fast and Furious" ...

Five years before he was shot to death in the failed terrorist attack in Garland, Texas, Nadir Soofi walked into a suburban Phoenix gun shop to buy a 9-millimeter pistol.

At the time, Lone Wolf Trading Co. was known among gun smugglers for selling illegal firearms. And with Soofi's history of misdemeanor drug and assault charges, there was a chance his purchase might raise red flags in the federal screening process.

Inside the store, he fudged some facts on the form required of would-be gun buyers.

What Soofi could not have known was that Lone Wolf was at the center of a federal sting operation known as Fast and Furious, targeting Mexican drug lords and traffickers. The idea of the secret program was to allow Lone Wolf to sell illegal weapons to criminals and straw purchasers, and track the guns back to large smuggling networks and drug cartels.
