25 Turkey started bombing Kurds in Kurdistan the same day it gave the U.S. permission to use bases in Turkey to bomb ISIS.

The administration doesn't give a rats ass if it knows that every doubt is now lifted that it is in bed with the "good" muslims. This country is now facilitating another attempted Turkish genocide, this time against the Kurds.

Fortunately for Obama, the media hasn't discovered this yet. Probably won't.

31 Can your city survive the apocalypse?

The answer is in the question. No city will survive the Burning Times. After 3 days there will be no more food. The vast majority of people in cities store a week or less worth of food in their home. So at best you'll have 10 days of food (and probably much less).

In the end, there may still be people in a city; there may even be something that calls itself a government. For all intents and purposes, however, any city over about 100K will have ceased to be a city, if it still exists at all.

32 OK, someone help me out here, because Orin Kerr sure isn't.

I don't understand the dicta that says if there is a search warrant, you can't challenge the grounds of the warrant because they aren't subject to pre-enforcement review. Why, exactly, isn't it?

Seems to me there's a lot of potential for fishing expeditions, as well as the basic danger of intimidating people, by not allowing it. Of course, that's probably why such challenges are disallowed.

Still pisses me off though.

One of the things that has to absolutely be brought to the front in addition to illegal immigration, is what is now official policy of the U.S. to diminish the white population and turn the US into an AmeriMexico shit hole.

This is a direct result of the '65 immigration over haul, thank you very much Ted Kennedy to SOB.

We must severely reduce legal immigration and end chain migration and re-orient our immigration policy back towards the 1st world and away from the 3rd world.

The U.S. simply does not need any more Mexicans, Somalis, Ethiopians, Vietnamese, etc.

I don't know why this is being touched on now.

Illegal immigration is a problem. Obama playing Tamany Hall writ large is a problem. Existing laws not being enforced is a problem. Existing checks and balances being subverted is a problem.
Lying sacks of shit like Gabe conflating any of these observations with any and all immigration is a problem, and a dodge. While you're sounding the hard line against legal immigration, they are subverting any means of controlling any sort of immigration.

I was about to make a snarky comment about how when the system stops accepting user input, you need to check your Republic owner's manual for factory reset procedures.
Then I realized... next time Humanity creates another great Republic, and there will be one, we need to make a proper owner's manual for it. And a factory reset procedure.

Current legal immigraton is tilted so far towards Mexico and the third world that you can end illegal immigration and if nothing is done about our current legal immigratin regime, you still end up with an AmeriMexico.

It'll just take a few more years to achieve.

I was hoping to go all day without thinking about that.

It's going to be confirmed today, and I'm going to have to sit down with Sean and explain to him that he might not get to finish the year in Scouts.

Our Charter Org has already weighed in: they will allow homosexual leadership. So I'm going to have to warn my committee that I will continue as Committee Chair (and allow my son to remain in Scouts) only so long as the policy has no effect (that is: as long as no homosexual parent asks to be part of pack leadership). The moment one does, we're obliged to accept them and I will step down.

Which is going to suck, since I expect we'll be one of only a very few packs in our area which will allow homosexual leadership.

57 No, they do not have to be addressed together.
This way allows an easier path to scream racism.

If you do wish to tie the two together, point out the many inequalities that the illegal power grabs cause for legal immigrants.

This is no different than gun control doing nothing but punishing lawful gun owners.

What organizations and clubs are left for children that historically taught self-preservation, responsibility and hard work?

I was thinking about this recently. 4H, Girls Scouts, Boy Scouts, most church children's programs, etc. They are being torn apart. What's left? The public schools used to be in line with many of these groups, but now they are pretty much the antithesis of them.

I've been watching Granite Flats on Netflix and loving it (like millions of other viewers).

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2624370/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Granite Flats is BYUtv's first original scripted television drama series. Brigham Young University TV.

It is like a Leave it to Beaver setting of kids detective stories. I'm adoring it.

It's great for your kids. It's a 10/10.

FFA is still fairly big in Rural and Semi-Rural Texas, at least. And Trail Life USA looks like it might be a suitable replacement for the Boy Scouts if their recruitment goes up (so that they're as, or at least nearly as, ubiquitous as BSA units).

But, that answers your question- not many. Of course, even Scouting doesn't really teach scouting anymore. You certainly can't get your Eagle without doing some real scouting stuff, but most boys don't obtain their Eagle anyway.

64 Inre Boy Scouts, I've found that I feel compelled to attend all campouts and activities with my son, if only to monitor this kind of shit.

And that's really a problem for the program, because it's supposed to encourage self-sufficiency. It's hard for a boy to feel self sufficient if Dad is always there.

Fuck the SJWs and the gays in particular for messing up a fine program. Jerks.

77 Inre Boy Scouts, I've found that I feel compelled to attend all campouts and activities with my son, if only to monitor this kind of shit.

See, I look at it like this- whatever good they may do is marred by the fact their actions violate their own Oath and Law.

Duty to God. Keep myself morally straight. Reverent.

Tenthette and I had to have this discussion recently, in light of the decision coming down, and I put it like this: when you're elevating someone to leadership, you're holding *all of that person* up as an example to be emulated. This is especially true when the ones they're leading are young boys who are naturally aspirational *and* don't have the maturity and judgement to separate the things a person does from who that person is.

So by allowing openly homosexual leadership, you're telling these boys that homosexuality is "natural," "normal," and worthy of emulation.

97 On Sept. 18, 2012, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office began investigating allegations that Corcoran, who was an assistant Scout leader and an adviser to the Eagle Scouts between 1997 to 1999, sexually abused Scouts. The investigation was initially prompted by two former members of Troop 173 coming forward, authorities said.

The prosecutor's office said one of the victims indicated Corcoran sexually assaulted him on multiple occasions before he was 16 years old.

Both victims referenced an incident that happened in the summer of 1999 in which Corcoran and the Scouts allegedly engaged in a "threesome," the prosecutor's office said.

She clearly won't allow herself to believe that what leftists do is directly related to what leftists believe.

She's shown it dozens of times when she calls leftists out for what they propose for society as being misguided only to fall back hard into the leftist camp on their umbrella philosophies.

The idea that a young teen that has been sexualized (by what ever ...) to the point that he publicly identifies his fetishes and can control himself around those whom he desires is ludicrous.

But there's a vast difference between the dude with whom you're sharing a tent at the moment coming on to you, and being groomed by an adult leader for sexual abuse.

When the kid does it, you can report it to an adult and at least get a different bunk-mate. If it continues, the boy will be kicked out of scouts (in theory, anyway).

When an adult leader does it, especially if he grooms the kid for several years first... well, it's psychologically different, even if the physical differences are more limited.

Granted not all homosexuals are going to be sexual predators, and some heterosexuals will be - 0% of heterosexual males are going to be homosexual sexual predators.

152 Question: Why is Obama so insistent on telling the Kenyans that they need to accept homosexuality, but not Iran (or Egypt, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, etc.)?

154 ... if Pluto ended up being made up mostly of precious metals and rare earths?

Wouldn't that be "rare plutos"?

They would clearly be "Trans-Uranic" elements.

155 I stand corrected; the national jamboree is now no longer held at Fort A.P. Hill. It's been moved to a location West Virginia.

Can your city survive the apocalypse?

The answer is in the question. No city will survive the Burning
Times. After 3 days there will be no more food. The vast majority of
people in cities store a week or less worth of food in their home. So at best you'll have 10 days of food (and probably much less).

In the end, there may still be people in a city; there may even be
something that calls itself a government. For all intents and purposes,
however, any city over about 100K will have ceased to be a city, if it
still exists at all.
==========
You got it in one AllenG. the apocalypse will leave any city over the 100K level in ruins in a bout a week when people realize there is no more food for a while and a massive blizzard-prep lemming panic hits the urban areas, following by mobs going crazy and massive looting while the police get stretched to the breaking point and beyond. And thanks to the Leftists and their enabler president, respect for authority, law enforcement, and peaceful public behavior is at an all time low. "Let it burn" isn't a defeatist position, it's a prediction of what will happen when the idiots realize there is no tomorrow.

I'm still waiting for gas prices to fall.

The middle of summer is not the time for it, for better or worse. After Labor Day, we may get some good ones. The downturn in oil just seemed to be an appeal by OPEC to get Obummer and EU to think kindly of them after Munich II: Iranian Boogaloo. Good luck on that boys, he has his "legacy deal" now, with no signs of a Senate veto, so they are in it deep.

159 By analogy to computers then, the reset procedure would be something like a "vote of no confidence", requiring new elections all around .... perhaps with former incumbents prohibited from running again.

(?)

This wouldn't fix the permanent bureaucracy problem, though.
The old "spoils system" was far from perfect, but what we have now is far worse. Any thoughts from the Horde ?
