17 Good Morning Morons. Today is Saturday, July 25, 2015. On this day in 2014 the big news was the EPA illegally blocking an Alaska Gold Mine using the clean water act BEFORE a study was even done. As it turned out the EPA had been working to block the mine as far back as 2009 (gee what happened that year?). The individual doing the illegal blocking went on the lam and could be found by nobody, and has not been found to this day. (Yet I would lay odds he is still collecting a paycheck). This item went to court and the EPA lost in November of 2009. That has become rather common with the outrageous overreach the EPA has been doing since the Choom took office. But it does no good because the common man is out thousands upon thousands of dollars in legal fees and the cost of delays in projects. This is pure lawfare and the head of the EPA should be prosecuted for illegal harassment and abuse of office. Perhaps if Sara Palin was still head of AK that could happen.

Another great foreign policy win for Obama and his Choom gang. They helped create South Sudan in 2011 and gave them $2B of your money. Well the money has disappeared and the country has descended into shit. It is my opinion that the US has no business in Africa. Call in the British to get them to clean up the mess they left when they baled out.

The US has cut the military to the bone and is still cutting. The US foreign policy is a disaster pissing off our normal allies in Europe. The US appears to be weak and befuddled (because it is). 26 Illinois judge rules that Chicago can not cut the golden retirement benefits of its public workers. That is what happens when a corrupt government in bed with the unions allows them to write your laws and the State constitution. Chicago now will either have to enact a massive tax increase, which will w/o a doubt make the situation worse, or go bankrupt. I recommend they go bankrupt, and I mean complete bankrupt and shutdown everything, quit collecting taxes, and auction off public buildings. But I am sure what will happen is they will go to Obama with hat in hand and beg for even more federal assistance AND do another tax increase. Why? Because they know they will get it. So good old Vic down in SC will be helping to pay for corruption and malfeasance in Chicago as well as the crap that has been going on in Detroit for decades. I remember years ago when NYC went to the government for a bailout. There was a huge furor because everyone said no, it is unconstitutional. What has changed since then? There has been no rewrite of the Constitution.

Posted by: Vic - Republicans help Obama commit treason at July 25, 2015 06:38 AM
________

Part of the Founding Fathers' genius was how they drafted our charter documents in three dimensions. The Constitution, for example, consisted of ink patterns and parchment that one could call the first Magic Eye image. Sure, there are the words, but if you relax your eyes and kind of look THROUGH the Constitution, new stuff appears. This practice became quite refined in the late 1780s and '90s as the hidden messages in the Bill of Rights and some state constitutions contained rights and financial prescriptions that were hidden to those merely reading the words until about ten years ago.

Politics has become a game of ADD. No one is willing to take the time to play a season or two in the minors before heading for the Bigs. Hell, JJ, if you or I went on Levin's show, we'd sound "great on every issue," too! At least to anyone who thinks the way we do....

Sometimes I find the modern trend toward hero-worship in "conservative" politics ("Crooooz!, Roooobio!eleventy!, Walker!11!, Carson!!!!, just wait 'til Saracoooooda decides to run!") incredibly depressing, and frighteningly reminiscent of the Choom Boy phenomenon.

84 I remember years ago when NYC went to the government for a bailout. There was a huge furor because everyone said no, it is unconstitutional. What has changed since then? There has been no rewrite of the Constitution.
_______________________________

There's been no need for a rewrite of the constitution, since the constitution has been completely trashed.

Haven't you heard? In the Age of Obama, the only thing that matters is What Barry Wants. So we no longer need the congress to pass immigration laws, because we just do What Barry Wants. And we no longer need the senate to ratify treaties, because we just do What Barry Wants. And we no longer need both houses of congress to revise problematic parts of already-passed laws like Obamacare, because we just do What Barry Wants.

Those silly founders, thinking that the consent of the governed should matter, or that laws or constitutions should have some meaning.

They obviously failed to foresee the advent of the Chocolate Messiah. All hail the All-Knowing O!

86 I really liked the Ted Cruz speech but I wonder about the repercussions from McConnel. The GOPe and CoC is no less vindictive than Choomer. Although I like and would vote for Trump, I now think he might have just been trying to light a fire under our candidates to get them to start talking about important (to America and conservatives) issues. To show the candidates how to take fire and win. If so, he has done a good job. Cruz/Walker or Cruz/Fiorina would be good. So would Cruz/Trump, but I doubt Trump would want the pay cut.

The Russians are actively working to divide NATO and harass the US
everywhere there is an opportunity. There are several factors driving
this besides the normal Russian belligerent hegemony. The US has cut the
military to the bone and is still cutting. The US foreign policy is a
disaster pissing off our normal allies in Europe. The US appears to be
weak and befuddled (because it is). And guess where every one of these
problems have their source. . . Did you say Obama?

Posted by: Vic - Republicans help Obama commit treason at July 25, 2015 06:37 AM (GpgJl)"

One way the Russians could be quite effective in dividing the United States would be to quietly promise diplomatic recognition and a couple of dozen nuclear missiles to the governor of Texas or any other state that secedes. Before Obama, the Russians would have been laughed out of the office. Today, they would at least get serious consideration.

The main problem with the offer would probably not be the offer itself as much as the reputation the Russians have for dishonesty and sharp practice.

I have to imagine Mitch McConnell is so vain doesn't like hearing that stuff said by a 'subordinate,' especially in the Senate.

I think it's a pivot by Cruz. But I think he needs to go farther.

The whole thing has an annoying "Mommy, he made me do it!" vibe. Cruz should have been experienced enough to be skeptical from the start, rather than blindly voting for something that turned out to be standard sellout bullshit from a "leadership" known for that kind of crap.

We don't need any more reminders that teh Bitch is a corrupt fuckweasel, but the fact that Cruz could be gulled by him again doesn't say much about any possible presidential qualities there.

98 Interesting little thing on the Canckles e-mail thing.
She always goes on about how they are saying that NOW some of the content is labeled as classified, but not at the time that she sent/received it.

One of the articles clearly states that authorities reported the four e-mails as labeled as classified not just now, but at the time of her transmission/reception as well.

That is a shot to the waterline right there.

You comparing apples to oranges and coming up lemons.

With Choom Boy, it is most definitely a cult of personality sold on a pack of lies (Obama's gonna pay my mortgage!).

On the other hand, you have conservatives looking for anyone -- ANYONE -- with spine who can fight both the government tyranny and the media corruption of lies by commission and lies by omission. We're not fanboys at all, just regular Americans hungry for somebody, anybody, who will represent us, the great unwashed American taxpayer, and not represent They the Government (and its weaponized bureaucracies and its propaganda media arm).

Seriously, who in government represents you? I know with my 3 Congressbastards, Schumer, Gillibrand and Crowley, I have no representation, but plenty of burdensome taxation paying for all their vote-buying schemes

Eh, I'm willing to give Cruz a bit of a pass on some of this shit. Cruz is in his first term in the Senate; McConnell has been there for 30 years. It probably takes a while to learn the ropes, and Cruz is still a newbie. Those old fossils like McConnell are a conniving, cut-throat bunch of schemers. No person with even a minimal sense of decency would be able to navigate those shark-infested waters without getting bit a few times, especially in the beginning.

106 Dear Republican voters,

To deal with our changing times and the crises that face our great nation, the GOP will continue on its present platform of forced unlubricated sodomy for everyone. Whether this sodomy will be merely figurative or something else, remains to be determined by President Obama and the Supreme Court. Whichever is the case, this sodomy will continue to take many diverse forms from which we, the GOP, will remain largely exempt.

In these tough times, we urge you to remember: it's for America. *waves flag* We can't do it without you!

Vote responsibly. Vote Republican.
