>>Gatter twice recites Planned Parenthood messaging on fetal tissue collection, "We're not in it for the money," and "The money is not the important thing," but she immediately qualifies each statement with, respectively, "But what were you thinking of?" and, "But it has to be big enough that it's worthwhile for me."
... >>By the lunch's end, Gatter suggests $100 per specimen is not enough and concludes, "Let me just figure out what others are getting, and if this is in the ballpark, then it's fine, if it's still low, then we can bump it up. I'm gonna drop this in a few threads today, apologies for the spam, but it should be self-explanatory that not everyone reads every thread. *clambers up on stepstool of awesomeness* Gettysburg. A few weeks ago the idea of a Horde visit to the battlefield came up and a couple of us thought it would be a good idea to organize it. Clearly, the best thing to do is to consult everyone on dates and schedule it a month in advance. But really. So, someone got Her calendar cleared for this weekend and it's a go. At least three Moron/'Ettes will visit Gettysburg this Saturday. The best idea so far is a horseback tour. My e-mail is in my nick. If you're interested in joining us please let me know. It's not surprising that commands would be leery about arming their troops. There is little trust nowadays between the officer/enlisted, and NCOs are not allowed to "train to standard." Appellate Judges Know Nothing About Tech
This is surprising? Actually, at this point I believe the courts are remaining willfully ignorant of technology. It allows them plausible deniability when they side with the State because "we just have to take their word for it." Stomped from last thread, b/c I think I matter:
I've looked really hard at the Common Core stuff, and come away with the opinion that it's designed to so destroy the educational system that the US will be unable to create any technically skilled workers, and so need to import H1B people for everything. It goes deeper than that: Like a lot of other companies, the progs realize Big Data is where it's at in the future. Common Core wants to know and document everything, EVuRYthing about your child. The progs think they can institute their own vision of the totally discredited idea of Soviet style workforce planning. Your kid will be a known quantity to the state by age 10. And will be exported to a "position of need", as determined by the State. Posted by: Brave Sir Robin at July 21, 2015 08:40 AM (5buP8) 35

When I was a kid - a very long time ago - the confederate flag had already evolved into a symbol of southern pride and had lost any connection it might have once had to slavery. You know, you think about what Iran was able to accomplish while under sanctions - hegemony over Lebanon and Syria. Near hegemony over the remnants of Iraq. Creation of a major puppet army in Hezbollah.
Now, without changing a thing about their character, they are welcomed with open arms into the international community - the so called civilized national community. Europe is going to pay first for this. Israel that'll come eventually. But Europe, with their self interest. Cheap petroleum. They think they'll be able to fix their debt issues with low cost oil and high gas taxes. They still haven't learned - there is no limit to what people can demand once they start getting free shit. Nothing they say, nothing they do will ever, ever, ever advance a conservative agenda. And yes, that does include the very article on abortion. If you can't tell, the GOPe is perfectly fine with abortion. Or did you forget their betrayal when the 20-week ban came up for a vote? Abortion, like all the conservative-sounding positions the GOPe takes, is nothing but a campaign soundbite massaged and tested for maximum efficiency to gather conservative votes without being bound to take any actual action. Think about it: he and his horde of lawyers expended time and money to illegally exclude votes of people serving overseas in our armed services, in direct contravention of existing federal law, of which, apparently, many of the judges were ignorant. I remember Pat Caddell, Dem pollster, saying that those particular actions would ruin the Democrats for a generation. Turns out Pat was wrong. This is why I chuckle at those still chanting "vote fraud". What fraud in casting and counting is needed when the voting population is so fake? Our last district in VA (thanks, Gerry's kid) had one section with over 4K "registered" voters in an area with roughly 1700 mostly single family properties. From the previous thread because why not.
There is actually more racism and hate in the NE than the South. If you look at the FBI uniform crime statistics and compare Alabama with a much larger population and a greater percentage of blacks than Vermont, Vermont has more reported hate crimes. It's even worse when you compare Alabama with New York. Reported hate crimes in Alabama: 6 Reported hate crimes in New York: 1034 You can look at most southern states and compare them to the NE, there are infinately more hate crimes reported in the NE. Appellate Judges Know Nothing About Tech This is surprising? Actually, at this point I believe the courts are remaining willfully ignorant of technology. It allows them plausible deniability when they side with the State because "we just have to take their word for it." If they actually learned this stuff, they'd have to find for the citizenry much more often. ------------------ You have a point. It is widespread, and I am sick of hearing it is not. A handful of votes can turn an election over.
______________________ Last year, or maybe the year before last, a group of about 30 states got together voluntarily and compared their voter registration rolls. They found a huge number of voters who were simultaneously registered in more than one state, and they also found that many of these people had cast multiple votes (from different states) in the same election. With mail-in ballots, there is really nothing to stop this kind of voter fraud, because the states aren't routinely comparing their voter data against other states' data (with the exception of the one time the 30 states did it last year). Dims know where all the vulnerabilities are in the electoral system, mainly because they are the ones who created those vulnerabilities (e.g., the Motor Voter Act, which is nothing more than a deliberate invitation to commit voter fraud). Meanwhile, Republican "leaders" continue to twiddle their thumbs while our country is being stolen out from under us through this rampant vote fraud . . . . There is also an unfinished skating rink they started behind city hall on the common that has become an open air drug bazaar. The minor league baseball team is named the Tornados. How thoughtful. Meanwhile, over at The Federalist -- think of it as HotAir for the polyamorous set: Arming Soldiers After Chattanooga Would Let The Terrorists Win By Philip Wegmann Arming uniformed soldiers in a civilian setting blurs the separation of martial and civil authority. It perpetuates the fear that feeds the terrorists strategy. And it has no place in a free society. The best counter-terrorism policy will keep American soldiers safe while preserving the principles they seek to defend. Honor the oath of the Chattanooga five who died for our freedom. Preserve the Constitutional separation of martial and civil power. To do otherwise, to surrender by taking the first steps to transform society into a security state, would hand the terrorist a victory. RE Planned Parenthood:
Now you see the beauty of Donald Trump. He does not come off as a conservative whackobird but his positions have been right down the middle. They are: he has always hated abortion but for a long time he was prochoice. Now he is prolife, with the exceptions of 1) incest; 2) rape; 3) life of a mother. This was due to the personal testimony of someone he knows very closely. But the point is, he can say, my fellow Americans although I have always abhorred abortion, at times in my life I have been prochoice and recently I am prolife with exceptions. But this is not about prochoice or prolife. This is about chopping up baby parts to sell them for a lamborghini. Babies. Babies who were big enough that they could survive outside the womb. A major investigation of Planned Parenthood facilities nationwide needs to be initiated and if it turns out that the allegations of these gruesome videos are true, as President I will immediately seek to end all federal funding to Planned Parenthood. There are many other worthy organizations out there to assist women with family planning and birth control that can use that money, we should not be giving one dime to an organization that butchers babies and then sells their legs, arms, hearts, lungs, livers on the open market to the highest bidder. This is grotesque. done and done. Posted by: prescient11 at July 21, 2015 10:17 AM (q5APL) 247

Arming them to enforce civilian law is but it is unclear that arming them on military bases has the same meaning. Tell me what the government does, aside from our great military, that it does not screw up or do it so inefficiently that it costs us all a ton of dough! Done and done. 257 Bush sent armed National Guard troops to the border so the law does have some flexibility.
------------------------------------------ A governor can arm the NG. If Bush federalized them then he was in violation. But as I said, they routinely ignore that law which was enacted after the civil war. Posted by: Vic - Republicans help Obama commit treason at July 21, 2015 10:24 AM (GpgJl) 262
Arming soldiers is a violation of the posse comitatus act. Which is routinely violated anyway.
Posted by: Vic - Republicans help Obama commit treason at July 21, 2015 10:18 AM (GpgJl) With respect, USING soldiers for military purposes and/or for "policing" within the boundaries of the US violates the PC Act. Allowing soldiers to be armed in order to protect their own lives does not, and as the regulation quoted in the article linked states, is sanctioned within the right to bear arms we all have as Americans. Yep, a lot of fucking felonies there. You see, that is why Boehner and McConnell never really did shit on Benghazi. THEY KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON THE WHOLE FUCKING TIME. When we started losing choppers in Afghanistan is when CIA started ditching the whole thing. One time overseas was receiving imminent danger pay. And it was decided to have qualification training with M-16s while deployed. So we loaded up in the open bed with troops seats of a Deuce and a Half to drive to the host nation rifle range. But we could not carry weapons while outside our compound. So host nation provided armed escort and carried our weapons, the same weapons we always carried inside the compound.
That nothing happened I am still grateful for. But I still think it was a stupid idea. Right up there with us having to queue up at the weapons van to draw magazines and ammo if we were actually attacked in the compound - reasoning being the outer perimeter with host nation would hold long enough. Yes, I know when the law was enacted but just arming soldiers is not a violation of the law. And what Bush did was not in violation because Operation Jump Start was done in cooperation with the governors of the affected states and the orders were clear that the NG would be acting in a support role to the border guards and not specifically involved in law enforcement. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Jump_Start Posted by: JackStraw at July 21, 2015 10:29 AM (OGm46) 276
Okay, so about this Planned Parenthood body parts scandal. I hate to go all Godwin on this (no I don't), but for a person to complain about this horrific practice, while still remaining pro-"choice", is like a person being pissed that the Germans are yanking teeth out of Jewish mouths before herding those Jews into gas chambers.
In my opinion, it is impossible for a sentient, moral being to remain pro-"choice" once that person knows what goes on during an abortion. You can't condemn one terrible aspect of the industry without condemning every aspect. Again, my opinion, and acknowledging that the Blog's Brilliant Proprietor is pro-"choice". I just don't know how the human mind can countenance any of this evil. Posted by: Sharkman at July 21, 2015 10:29 AM (72D6h) 277

Having successfully completed a four year tour as a Recruiter at NRD Washington/Philadelphia, the discussion of arming Recruiters interests me.
The issue of sidearms while in the Station is pretty much a no-brainer. Give them sidearms. Out and about performing the general day to day business of Recruiting? Maybe yes, maybe no. Are we talking allowing the carry of personally owned firearms, or government issued weapons? Is carrying to be allowed, or required? Will all Recruiters in a Station be allowed, or is there a secondary qualification besides passing Recruiting school in order the be allowed/required to carry? Will weapons be stored in the station, or taken home at the end of the day? Army and Marines? I get it, most of them are not total strangers to a firearm. Navy? I'm a retired Machinist Mate. I served with, and had plenty of Sailors work for me that would make great representatives/Recruiters for the Navy. But give them a gun? Hell no. Then we could say: well not everyone has to/gets to carry. OK...Petty Officer Smith is allowed to carry. Petty Officer Jones is not allowed to carry. Roll that potential PR disaster around in your head for a minute if Petty Officer Jones gets shot.. Not trying toms not to allow the arming of Recruiters. Just bringing up minor policy issues which would need to be solved to do so. Posted by: Village Idiot's Apprentice at July 21, 2015 10:35 AM (VPLuQ) 283
