Lynne Russell Has Extremely Nuanced View on Second Amendment

Lynne Russell is the former CNN anchorperson whose husband shot a home-invader to death when he trespassed in their hotel room. (And shot the husband, too: But the husband was a better shot, and, as they say in sports, wanted it more.)

She offers the following advice to gun-grabbers:

"The discussion over the debate to own a gun is just ridiculous," Russell told Fox News. "As Americans we have the right to bear arms and as humans the right to protect ourselves. I’m sure that the man who shot my husband did not have a gun permit. Criminals will always have guns. The rest of us legally obtain our gun permits."

She then addressed critics of those who choose to conceal firearms.

"If you don't want to carry, please don’t," Russell told the news station. "Then shut the f*** up about it. Make your own decisions."

Her husband, Robert Caro, is ex-Special Forces. They live together with her two breasts.

I will note again the media is not giving this story play, despite the fact that it is a highly-dramatic story involving crime and life-and-death stakes and a celebrity. In fact, Russell was the first solo anchor on an American news show. So she's a feminist celebrity, too.

But they're not giving it play because it undermines the lies they call their narrative.

They hate when attractive, appealing people have a story to tell that hurts their precious leftist narrative. They know that propaganda relies on making an emotional pitch, not an intellectual one, and that's why they promote their silly cooked-up stories with attractive, sympathetic Protagonists attached.

So when an attractive, sympathetic Protagonist challenges their narrative, they simply will not have it -- and they suppress the story. Embargo it. Memory-hole it.

The Charleston shootings are admittedly part of the story of guns in the US. But equally, so is this story part of that greater story.

But they only want the public to know one side.

67 So as great as it is that they both survived and the perp got offed, there was a major tactical error on their part.

They were staying in Ass-buquerque, which was a mistake to begin with. Then, at a Motel 6, an establishment known for frequent sketchiness on the premises, he went in to take a shower, and then while he was showering, she went out to get something from the car.

No. No. Noooooooooooooo. Hold it right there.

Parking lots of low-end motels in shitty cities? Solo doesn't work. You need your partner in the loop as you go outside, and eyes on, and preferably walking out there with you.

Remember that the gunfight in the room happened after she came back from the car, and the perp grabbed her and shoved her into the room through the doorway. Then her husband emerged from the bathroom wearing a towel, and the gunfight started shortly thereafter.

What if the perp had instead grabbed her outside the room and thrown her in a van and taken off? Or stabbed her and left her in a pool of her own blood on the parking lot asphalt? Her husband in the motel bathroom shower would have been none the wiser.

Carrying is great. Carrying is not a substitute for common sense and tactical wits. Back each other up. Make it habit.

The mid-career types who could not find a slot in the Reserves or Guard were tossed out into the real world. And I expect this draw down to have similar disastrous results.

Well guns appear to be one issue where Americans are mysteriously and oddly sensible, as good surveys have shown opposition to "gun control" measures growing for years and - well, you've seen how on the federal level it remains the only insane, pernicious, stupid thing to which there remains any political barrier.

So her comment will be met with approval or at least non-disapproval by most who hear it.

Sort of academic, as otherwise Americans - through their votes, inaction, and acquiescence in the virtual collapse of their institutions - are sitting idly by why unimaginable damage is inflicted across the spectrum.

What is it the Left is always selling us - victims are the highest authority on any given topic?

Lynne Russell = highest moral authority on gun ownership.

114 Why Motel 6? Actually, there ain't a lot in Albuquerque. There's the Hotel Albuquerque and the Hotel Andaluz, a Sheraton I think, then it's Motel 6 time. Or the equivalent. And going out to the car alone was a mistake, me thinks. Should have waited for hubby to visit the parking lot.

I saw it in the DoD too. They lost so much know-how and historical continuity in their push to downsize.

Lots and lots of lateral transfers for upper management, of course, thus stifling promotions from within departments.

NYC area Morons will remember a guy named Jerry from the cheesy TV commercials for JGE Appliances back in the early 70's. Mobbed up guy, but a local character.

Two black kids tried to rob him when he was driving a cab. He reaches into the cash box, retrieves a .38 snub nose and shoots goof #1 in the throat. Goof #2 runs and Jerry shoots him in the back! Then, as he tells it, he watched the blood, and the life, gurgle out of Goof #1. The cops came and were apologetic as hell to have to inconvenience him by taking his gun for a day or two.

The ACLU vociferously opposed the law. To date, 14 magistrates, out of 82 have taken that option. That led the ACLU spokescrunt to opine that, "..see? It just wasn't worth the effort to pass a law.

Specifically,: "Sarah Preston lobbied against the bill as director of the American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina. She said the recusals represent “a pretty small number.”

That number amounts to 17%.

And yet..., and yet..., the total gay population is only around 2%, and the number wanting to be 'married' is a truly tiny percentage

So...., "a pretty small number" is 17% when you are trampling on people's beliefs and society, but 0.05% is of the highest importance if they are 'gay'.

556 #518: Ever seen the movie The Limey? Terrence Stamp plays an old British gangster whose daughter was killed in a snuff film (IIRC) and he comes to the US to avenge her.

He uses a lot of Cockney rhyming slang, and he has to explain it frequently because none of the Americans he deals with are familiar with it.

It's a pretty good movie, and also a nice basic primer for Cockney rhyming slang.

Incidentally, there is one piece of Cockney rhyming slang that has made its way into popular usage in America. Based on when it found its most widespread usage here, I think it must've come back with our soldiers from World War One.

The term is "raspberry". It's short for "raspberry tart", which rhymes with "fart".
