The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen United States of America
WHEN in the Course of human Events, it becomes necessary for one People to dissolve the Political Bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the Powers of the Earth, the separate and equal Station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent Respect to the Opinions of Mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the Separation.

HE has refused to pass other Laws for the Accommodation of large Districts of People, unless those People would relinquish the Right of Representation in the Legislature, a Right inestimable to them, and formidable to Tyrants only.

I had a dream the other night, I didn't understand.
A figure walking through the mist, with flintlock in his hand.
His clothes were torn and dirty, as he stood there by my bed.
He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low, he said:
"We fought a revolution, to secure our liberty.
We wrote the Constitution, as a shield from tyranny.
For future generations, this legacy we gave.
In this, the land of the free and the home of the brave.
"The freedom we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep.
But tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep.
Your freedom gone, your courage lost, you're no more than a slave.
In this, the land of the free and home of the brave.
"You buy permits to travel, and permits to own a gun,
Permits to start a business, or to build a place for one.
On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent.
Although you have no voice in choosing, how the money's spent.
"Your children must attend a school that doesn't educate.
Your Christian values can't be taught, according to the state.
You read about the current news, in a regulated press.
You pay a tax you do not owe, to please the I.R.S.

Actually, I don't think so. He seems to understand that there is a substantial risk that the pipe may not stand up to the abuse to which he is subjecting it. He hides behind a substantial barrier and yanks a string to set the thing off while his camera is recording it. If he were doing this stuff by hand or holding the camera by hand, that would be reckless. As it is, it is silly entertainment and falls into the category of experimentation. Now we know that a .50 BMG round can be fired from a pipe gun several times without rupturing it. The case is fire formed into a straight walled .75 caliber case. There is a lot more recoil than with an ordinary 12 gauge shell and the bullet keyholes within a few feet, which is not surprising.
Perhaps it may be handy to know about pipe guns in the not so distant future.

I shall endeavour to read the Douglas speech, but even before starting I realized the speech was given before the war; Before the war that ended slavery.
Of course there was resentment, and discrimination, and federal troops were dispatched to rebuild the south and it was called reconstruction.
Federal troops were again sent into Little Rock in the '50's, and again in the '60's Federal troops went into Alabama, and northern courts demanded an end to segregation.
Federal troops were sent into Detroit in '68', and Los Angles in '92', and before that National Guard Troops in '65'.
When will this cycle of violence end? When will we give peace a chance? When will we learn that violence doesn't solve anything?
When will we ever learn?
