If it's a family holiday, it must be time for progressive Stepford Relatives to get their dose of Obama Talking Points to inflict on family members again.

The Obama administration wants you to bring a side of healthcare politics to your family picnic this weekend.
After ObamaCare's big win at the Supreme Court last week, federal health officials are serving up some tips about talking to family members who may be less-than-enthused that ObamaCare is here to stay.
"You should be prepared when Aunt Janine says something like, 'Obamacare hasn’t helped anyone!'" a spokesman for the Department of Health and Human Services wrote in a blog post on Thursday.
For instance, if your Uncle Ted starts calling Obamacare a train wreck, you should calmly explain that he's "otten ahold of some old talking points," the spokesman recommends.
Then, he suggests that you recite a three-paragraph response citing 14 figures ranging from healthcare inflation to the growth in full-time versus part-time employment.
"With greater access to affordable, quality health insurance, the Affordable Care Act is helping individuals and strengthening our economy!" the sample script goes.
"Now, would you like more corn?"

I think all people aspire to be Walking Commercial Messages for someone else's propaganda organs.

This really is a weird thing, and tells you something about the bent and insecure psyches of the progressive -- the value the intellect, but have so little of it! They crave someone giving them a Bluffers Guide to Sounding Smart.

This year, Uncle Ted will see how smart I am. He'll see.

In case you've forgotten, the New York Times is a stuffed full of lies like a Lie Mule smuggling 20 pounds of lies from Colombia in condoms, each filled with 400 grams of Lies.

NASCAR tells fans to stop bringing their confederate flags to races.

"As members of the NASCAR industry, we join NASCAR in the desire to make our events among the most fan-friendly, welcoming environments in all of sports and entertainment.
"To do that, we are asking our fans and partners to join us in a renewed effort to create an all-inclusive, even more welcoming atmosphere for all who attend our events. This will include the request to refrain from displaying the Confederate Flag at our facilities and NASCAR events."

I'd like to see one of these craven corporations driven into bankruptcy by a righteous counter-boycott, just to show we have had it. It would be nice to see NASCAR go.

And don't tell me you love auto-racing. So what? NASCAR is not auto-racing; NASCAR is a corporation that maintains some records and contracts. Could be replaced in a month.

You're not going to believe this, but Obama f***ed more shit up in the world, pressuring Arab allies not arm one of the few groups willing to fight ISIS, the Kurds.

Because, you know: Iran's going to do that. Just as soon as Obama gives them their nukes.

One of the coolest, and I mean coolest, family experiences we've ever had was at Williamsburg, VA on the 4th. Period characters read the declaration aloud from various points around the governor's mansion, w/o amplification. They had to speak it, in a loud and emphatic voice. It gave me chills. The memory still does. It seems like a hundred years ago.

I have never had any affinity for the Confederacy, but I think the time is right for me to purchase my first Confederate flag. It also appears to be the first time in my life I will not be flying an American flag on the 4th of July.

I had a longish conversation last night with a customer reps supervisor and then her supervisor's supervisor about the view point discrimination. I told them how I found it hypocritical that they would stop the sale of Confederate flags but still sold copies of Mein Kampf, Soviet flags and Che Guevara t-shirts.

I pointed out to them that if the corporate thinking was that sales of the Confederate flags sent a message of condoning racism that they couldn't endorse, then, by the same logic, sales of Mein Kampf meant they were endorsing the murder of 6 million Jews by the Nazis and sales of the Soviet flag meant they endorsed the murder of tens of millions of Kulaks and other enemies of the communist state. I told them that as a private company they were of course free to sell or not sell any product they wished but that I could not support a policy of disappearing parts of American history down a memory hole with my money and that they were missing the message of the Confederate flag and were ignorant of the history of the Civil War if they thought the flag (for most people and especially southerners) stood for racism.
I was polite since they were not the corporate drones that made the banning decision but I hope I got my point across.

I said Man of Steel was a great Superman movie. It was a better Superman movie than any of the Christopher Reeve movies. But what it was not a very good movie. Snyder seems incapable of putting a "soul" into a movie.Part of thatis probably connected to his color choice. Batman v. Superman will probably have that same lack of soul.

I live in the beautiful Sequatchie Valley, it is where God would reside if he were on this earth. The country store opens every morning at 5.00 am, it is about two miles "down the road"...the biscuits are piping hot and to kill for. The locals have accepted my Florida dumbass as one of their own because I so respect everything they believe in. I look out every morning at 300 million years of geologic activity that has formed my beautiful view...it is amazing. To be truthful, I don`t really give a fuck about a bunch of sniveling liberals!

For the CBF don't have much of a problem w/ those that want to fly it, I do have a problem w/ those that want to prohibit it.

I'm not flying that here. My family fought for the Union and I'm not gonna reignite the Rebellion here, but many died to protect the Union and defeat slavery.

History is important and needs to be remembered.

Consider another example for not standing up from the Republicans -- Corker took away advise and consent on the Iran deal and it is now approve and disapprove 2/3. All (except for maybe one and I don't know who) Republicans signed up for this. So, when Obama gets done with his crapass "deal" helping Iran become a nuclear power -- we just might as well be a nation that sponsors terrorism. So, standing up is important. And the Republicans are very bad at doing this.
That said, if I lived where and how you lived, it might not matter to me either.

404 Since there is mention of flags this Independence Day, I will note that I will be in Westcliffe, Colorado. I will be marching in their Parade with the TEA Party contingent. We usually have about 500 TEA Party members from groups from all over the state. Oh, yes. We all march armed, this being an open carry state. We will be led by several Constitutionalist County Sheriffs.

I have the pleasure and privilege of being in the Color Guard for my county's TEA Party group. I will be carrying a Colorado Gadsden.

Honestly? I've been tempted to do that quite often lately.
I doubt anyone - especially my neighbors - would notice, so the gesture would be moot.

I rotate two flags every year on Father's Day & Memorial Day. The flags that draped the coffins of my Dads. One is from 1971, the other is only about 15 years old.

407 Something I've been thinking about this past week. Remember the "Occupy" social bowel movement? What was the chief complaint they had? As I recall, they believed that a mythical 1% super-minority held the money and goodies they were rightly entitled to. Because useless college degrees and uh, stuff!! So, "Occupy" was ultimately about a majority imposing its will on a minority for that majority's benefit.

Same sex marriage benefits the roughly 3% of the population who identify as gay. But it's not simply the right to legally marry but the obligation of the other 97% to be silent, comply, accommodate and acquiesce, regardless of belief.

How do you square that circle?
