True story... locally an 84 year old woman was shot and killed the other day. Apparently a stray bullet from the back yard of one of her neighbors, because she was sitting her own back porch with her husband. He says he heard a shot, but saw nothing until she collapsed.
Most likely scenario? Somebody shooting at some critter in his own back yard.

That's a tough one. If you live in an area with lots of pesky deer, I would call animal control to come get it. If you live in an are where deer are a real rarity, you might feed it and see if it adopts you.

Actually, it's pretty cool and might be a good survival skill in the Burning Time.
Take an old car tire, nail the beads loosely together so that it forms a tube. Then cut an opening in the tread. Toss it out in waist deep water and leave it. River cats will make a home in it. You and a partner can later wade out, feel around so you know where the opening is and lift it up. Most of the water will drain out the bead and any fish living in there can be poured out into a dip net.

It's an article of faith that the US was built on the back of slave labor. The US economy at the time was mostly agrarian until the Industrial Revolution, but even still, was very agrarian. Only 1% of Americans owned slaves. A large part of the remaining 99% were in direct competition with the slave owners. Doesn't it therefore hold that the US actually was NOT built on slave labor, but actually the vast majority of wealth was built by non-slave labor?

Long story short, slave labor held back the development of the south (just like it held back the development of labor saving decides in ancient Rome) and was most likely a huge economic detriment in the long run.

and that was his basic point.
the slaves worked just hard enough to not get whipped. the slave owners laid around all day doing whatever it is they did to entertain themselves. no one had an incentive to work.
free men working their own land tend to work their asses off to maximize their yield and people getting paid based on their work have much more incentive to do a good job then a "good enough to not get called out for sucking" job, especially if the boss is in the fields working next to you.
all common sense, really.

Well, no one in recent history at least. the only place people are remotely punished for being homosexual is in Muslim controlled areas. In the USA its a resume enhancer. Homosexuals on average have a higher standard of living than the general population, from what I've read. No lie, was flipping radio channels and I heard this guy talking politics. The longer I heard the person talk the more insane he sounded. Guy tuned out to be Howard Zinn.
One of the dumb things he was advocating was the need for the govt to recreate an artist jobs program like they had in the 30s, painting murals and such. Yes, because we are SO in need to new murals dedicated to socialism, like the ones painted on Coit tower?

I think you are misattributing the general goodwill and fondness that people here have for her TO her sexuality. AtC says something close to what you typed in you comment #415, close in the sense that the subject , object, pronouns, etc., sort of fit what you typed, .... but that's not quite her meaning.
In English, these differences have meaning ... not just the words.

Regardless of the English level or the number of school years of commenters (assuming they are all native speaker), I wouldn't claim that every single person here is so much better than me in understanding what is written.
The post in question was not that nuanced as you claim it was, it was not written by Einstein.
I do not think I have misunderstood the meaning or missed an hint of irony (if there was one and there wasn't).
CAn I give you a simple evidence why I am convinced it was simply over the top because that's the style of the person?
If a commenter flat out writes without any hinted joke or pretended irony that gheys should be put in jail (as it was assumed of Titus, while in reality HE was misunderstood) there would have been more people calling him out on it.
There was none. Eventually everybody else understood what Titus tried to say except one person who went full hyperbole on it and a stupid hyperbole. I also had a run in with same person still for a matter of her playing the martyr (which everybody here FLAT OUT DENIES because her specialness should NEVER BE QUESTIONED when it reality it is a well established pattern). I frankly do not have the time to search back (it probably happened 2-3 months ago) but I did even less than remotely suggesting what Titus suggested. This same person, the special snowflake that everybody treats like the second coming of jesus, again whined about being a victim and used the exact same words of the reply to Titus. (oh so I know what you will do to me if you get power bla bla bla, all pure unadulterated whining).
So I see AGAIN this despicable behavior on display and I took the chance to call her out. I was aware that she is protected species around here why should I care? I know I have done nothing wrong or nothing that has been done millions of times before my on this blog. The very people whining about lack of freedom of speech are simply throwing insults and calling for my ban and I am defending myself.
One defender of her royalness told me that she always speaks of treatment of Christians in China (something I called her out on, since she was only whining of treatment of gheys in the USA) and i made a search on google inside this domain (ace.mu.nu) for her name + china and I found nothing of sort - NOTHING. Apparently it is ok for her mob friends to even LIE about how perfect she is. To me this is outrageous. Next time they will assure me she found a cure for cancer because of her immense awsomeness.

About the linking. I remember very well that pasting links of long URLS results in error messages since the system wants short urls
I did not want to risk pasting the url and having to rewrite the post after the error message so I went safe and posted the title.
i know it was lazy on my side, but I had already a person calling me a fucking liar because I was taking time retrieving the numbers, I could not afford to waste more time.
