John Nolte: The Only Difference Between Bill Ayers and Dylann Roof is That One Is Beloved by the Left and Is Obama's Good Pal

Yes, exactly.

I was pretty angry to read organs of the left putting out the claim that conservatives weren't calling the Roof murders "racist" or "terrorist." In the first minutes, when all reports are fuzzy and likely wrong, sure, people were careful about saying "We don't know the reasons for this yet." Similar to how the left says "We don't know the reasons for this yet" when jihadists saw people's heads off.

Except, of course, that when we did know the reasons, we called Roof what he was: a racist murderer and terrorist.

Pardon us for not wanting to be pressurized by the social (and anti-social media) into buying into yet another lie. ("My friend had his hands up and said 'don't shoot.'" Lie.)

But yes, facts in hand, absolutely, we deal with reality, and the reality is that Roof is a terrorist and a racist.

Meanwhile, the left and the media -- but I repeat myself -- continues to pretend that Bill Ayers was just a political reformer with a hobbyist interest in watches, batteries, and fertilizer.

Q: What's the difference between Bill Ayers and Dylann Roof?

A: Dylann Roof isn't a friend and colleague of an American president who enjoyed a cushy life in academia before retiring to life as the kind of author who's invited on-the-air by the mainstream media to hawk his books.

Other than that, both of these pigs share much in common.

Bill Ayers is an unrepentant domestic terrorist.

Dylann Roof is an unrepentant domestic terrorist.

Bill Ayers despises America.

Dylann Roof despises America.

Bill Ayers’s terror group The Weather Underground targeted and murdered innocent people.

Dylann Roof targeted and murdered innocent people.

Bill Ayers used murder and violence and terror as a weapon for political change.

Dylann Roof used murder and violence and terror as a weapon for political change.

Bill Ayers wanted a race war.

Dylann Roof wants a race war.

When you ask people on the right if they believe that someone's objection to his status or the political status quo gives him the justification to murder people, he'll say: No. That's terrorism.

If you ask someone on the left, the answer is: It's complicated. It's complicated by the question of who is the "Oppressed" in the relationship -- those in the role of "The Oppressed" have the right to commit terrorism (which is then called "resistance").

And then they have the balls to claim that we equivocate on the definition of a terrorist.

Incidentally, I know Obama has always claimed that Bill Ayers was "just a guy from around the neighborhood."

Funny thing, that-- he said the same thing about Jon Gruber.

And then O! How they laughed!

Lying to the American public, and committing perjury before the Supreme Court, is just a bit of cheeky, randy behavior from some lovable scalawags.

Just a guy from around the office. No big whoop.

30 I think Roof fits most neatly into the 'school/mall shooter' type of criminal, based on his actions and what I've read about him. I'm not sure that's generally what I think of as terrorism, but I could see how, if you take his reasoning seriously, you would put him in that category as some sort of domestic terrorist. Pathologically, though, he feels more like the other type.

But of course he was a crazy, evil murderer. No one disputes that.

52 Stormdoor, let's face it, was a mentally ill person who illegally acquired a gun and killed people. He is of no social significance.

But that reality is not politically useful. The shooting is not useful to the left unless it can be attached to a political narrative. Stormdoor, cannot have acted alone. "He didn't build that," but the killings must be attached to something the left hates like southern whites or the Confederate flag.

They blame the killings on the Confederate flag, which allows a large group of utterly useless people to rally around a cause and get a temporary ego fix because they are "change agents(TM)."

Well, it's a lot harder to gin up the racial tensions when everyone agrees on the series of events and who the bad guys are.

That's why the MFM (delenda est) always picks cases like Michael Brown or Trayvon Martin- because such cases can be counted on to be divisive. Had Martin or Brown really been innocent, there would have been no controversy.

Which tells you something about a couple of groups of people, when you think about it.

110 The funny thing is that white leftists are as devoted to white supremacy as any antebellum slaveholder. This is how they think:

1. Non-whites - believed to be childlike creatures with no capacity for self-restraint or responsibility Prone to violence if they do not get their way. Cannot survive without Ole Massa (aka the federal government) taking care of them.

2. Conservative whites (and non-whites): Pure evil and responsible for all the wrongs in the world, even ones that happened centuries before they were born.

3. White leftists: Would consider themselves God's Chosen People, if they believed in God. Intellectually and morally superior to both conservatives and non-whites (although they don't come out and say the latter, their condescending attitudes toward non-whites betray their real attitude). They believe they should rule over us all because the rest of us are too dumb to manage our own lives without them.

Really, the 2015 "elites" are as enclosed and sheltered from the larger realities of the world as the bunch who gathered at the Wilkes barbeque and discussed politics at the beginning of "Gone With the Wind." They'll receive a similar comeuppance I believe, although it might not happen for a while.

The long march through the institutions, especially the education system, has indoctrinated generations of Americans to loathe this country, and for whites, to loathe their skin color. The U.S. House Committee on Government Reform held an investigation on the matter, but the Justice Department prevented FBI officials from testifying.

President Clinton cited executive privilege for his refusal to turn over some documents to Congress related to his decision to offer clemency to members of the FALN terrorist group.

Well they're already calling the webpage he mentioned in his little manifesto a "far right conservative webpage devoted to white supremacy" so, yeah.

Apparently it just links to stories of black on white crime.

So now linking news articles is "white supremacy".

Go figure.

Yeah...I keep pointing that out to folks worried about that scenario. The only reason the Left wants "race war" is because it finally gives them an excuse to get rid of that pesky client group that's only barely worth more to them than the trouble they cause.

Make me sick, they do.

Roof v. Ayers?

Ayers wanted to set off a nail bomb at a Ft. Dix social dance (that is, half of the attendees would be civilians, as if that should matter.) Ayers admitted it would have "done some damage." But his bomb builders blew themselves up instead.

Without that crossed wire, Obama would have been meeting with his own Dylann Roof back in 1996.

They did not know where they were, in a state park, and still refused a map to begin with.

I had a couple of friends who were coming back to Denver from El Paso after bowling the National Tournament there. They missed the exit to I-25 North, and it took them over one hundred miles to figure out they were going in the wrong direction. I think the sign telling them that they were 20 miles from Arizona tipped them off.

If you're going to go hiking, make sure you (or someone in your party, at least, but preferably you) know how to read a map and compass.

Make sure you *have* a map and compass.

Make sure you have a method (preferably two- one sight-based, and one hearing-based) of signaling for help.

Make sure you have water AND a way to purify water you find.

Make sure you have food (it's easy to carry enough calories for a few days with meal bars and such nowadayz).

Make sure you have a way to start a fire.

Make sure you have a first aid kit.

Yes. Even if you're just planning a hike "for a couple of hours." It doesn't take much to get lost, have an accident, or otherwise find yourself in a situation where you will need any or all of those things.

344 What's the surprise ? The Left have convinced people that it was the Republicans who fought for segregation and against the Civil Rights Bill. It didn't even matter that they had a former Grand Kleagle as one of the leaders of their party.

They have also fooled people into thinking the violence and assassinations and assassination attempts always carried out by the Right. No matter that 95% are carried out by the Left.

Other than (questionably, I don't want to re-fight this battle) McVeigh, I can't think of a single "act of violence" attributable to "the right" in any way.

On the other hand... pretty much every other act of violence in our country over the past 100 years has been directly attributable to one of 3 groups: total crazies, leftists, or muslims.

With a heavy emphasis on leftists.

Shit, you could go all the way back to the haymarket bombing and still find leftists everywhere.

Again, back to scouting days- most of the time you can find plenty of tinder and kindling, if you know what to look for.

But, for survival purposes, carrying dryer lint or something similar is a good idea.

436 By all means, let's react to the carnage inflicted by an undiagnosed mental case by immediately banning stuff.

Seems logical and we'll thought out.

This could never get out of hand.

This could never have unintended consequences.

Heck, I've even made a fishing line from cedar bark, a fish hook from a mesquite tree, and then caught a fish with same.

Again- I don't recommend it. I recommend carrying some fishing line and hooks.

Posted by: Feh at June 22, 2015 03:38 PM (izITN)

Oh, suck.

I earned my Arrow of Light, but never joined the Order of the Arrow.

I do recall on my survival camp out that I didn't tie my shelter tightly enough and it rained that night. Luckily it was Texas in summer, so getting wet didn't cause me much more than mild discomfort.

Oh- and other sucky things BSA is doing- Arrow of Light is no longer "The Highest Award in Cub Scouting," but rather just another rank like all the others. So if you join in 5th grade, you don't have to earn your Bobcat then Webelos and *then* try to get your Arrow (which made it basically impossible to earn your Arrow if you joined in 5th grade). You just earn your Bobcat and then jump straight to the Arrow.

Yet the Arrow is *still* supposed to be permanent throughout scouting.

Which makes those of us who earned it rather miffed.

I didn't say it was a big fish.

Actually IIRC (it's been quite a while) it was about a 4" perch.

And we used Cedar bark because it didn't take much working to make it a decent line. If you were careful, you could peel off a good 4' strip at once, and then very carefully separate the fibers.

Then you basically drop-fish with it: find a pool where fish are likely to be, and just drop your hook hoping you catch something.
