The Obama administration hopes to save the bees by feeding them better, by putting different type of landscapes along highways, federal housing projects and elsewhere.

The plan calls for restoring 7 million acres of bee habitat in the next five years. Numerous federal agencies will have to find ways to grow plants on federal lands that are more varied and better for bees to eat because scientists have worried that large land tracts that grow only one crop have hurt bee nutrition.

The plan is not just for the Department of Interior, which has vast areas of land under its control. Agencies that wouldn't normally be thought of, such as Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Transportation, will have to include bee-friendly landscaping on their properties and in grant-making.

Not to mention the deadly swarms of micro-chip controlled killer bees Homeland Security has been working on....

Now, every store in town screams "Happy Memorial Day", as if it is a joyous occasion to celebrate the millions of deaths that it has cost to maintain this country. Car dealers have special sales, it's declared the official start of the summer with pool openings and such.

Ask the average American what Memorial Day stands for and they will struggle to answer.
They might say you can now wear white.

In my case it was having to switch out microwaves of different sizes, so I had to redraw the template on the underside of the shelf, drill new holes, install a new bracket and then actually hang the thing. And you're doing all of this to the bottom of the cabinet over the stove, so the angle sucks, then you have to hold the thing in place while you get it bolted trough the holes you drilled in the cabinet. It's all rather awkward.

Here in KC, the huge baseball game is between the Royals and the Cardinals.

So instead of the local broadcasters, it's FOX doing the TV. As they promote all the national games, at the very end they say "Oh, and by the way, the 2 best teams in baseball are about to play each other".

Well, fun thing is, the rain has just hit where I live, so that should mean in about half an hour or less it's going to hit the stadium where the game is being played. So if any of you are watching the game, be warned.

I'm guessing, based on the weather reports, the game will be called. Probably also tomorrows game.
