Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is turning up the pressure on senators to make a deal on three important bills, vowing to keep the chamber in session until its work is done. The Senate is quickly approaching a week-long Memorial Day recess, but it still has to finish work on a "fast-track" trade proposal, expiring provisions of the Patriot Act and highway legislation.

I figure this is because of rape culture, or global warming, or George W. Bush; perhaps all three.

It strikes me that we've built such an affluent society that we now have to find make-work for a large segment of people who get to waste their time in pseudo-intellectual pursuits like this survey. These researchers would produce more value to society if they were reduced to field hands or street sweepers rather than coming up with boutique issues to justify funding for social engineering.

Good Morning Morons. Today is Friday, May 22, 2015. On this day in 1964 LBJ announced his Great Society social reforms to bring an end to poverty and racial injustice in America. We still have poverty and always will regardless of what the socialist government does. Indeed, when you subsidize poverty you create more of it. This was a simple ploy to buy black votes for the Democrats and it worked. It is very easy to grow a FSA. As for racial injustice, that had largely disappeared for blacks by 1964. Now we still have it but it is largely against white males.

It's feminists wanting to get on the Sharpton/Jackson race hustle.

Do you know what the "Rape Culture" hoax really means to feminists?

It means that Universities have to set up offices to combat rape culture and "raise awareness" -- and Columbia U did that very thing --- and these offices have to hire otherwise unemployable Women and Gender Studies majors at salaries far greater than they could make in the private sector.

And it also means feminist groups can raise money to "combat rape culture" through fundraising and government grants/earmarks from politicians who want to show how concerned they are about rape culture and inequality.

126 I once sucked in enough mosquitoes approaching Plattsburgh NY to block a radiator and do in a water pump. And Ontario, jeeze. The only thing that kept Dad and me alive (and, years later, New Wife and me) was that the darned things got in a fight over whether to eat us here or carry us home. They come right through window screening. Just by pushing real hard. In winter they grow fur.

You'll note that the Orkin List is based on how many calls to exterminators to reduce mosquitoes are received. This accounts for Alaska, as no one would expect to do warfare with them. I'm between Detroit and Cleveland, both on the list, in an area where early white settlers built moving tent frames over their cattle to keep them from going mad from the bug bites. We don't make the list, because we didn't call Orkin.

143 Next week is my denominational meeting. We have six pieces of legislation related to homosexuality-I am hoping that I can avoid some of the discussion because I have to be out of the room counting votes. We are supposed to have the largest attendance ever for our denominational meeting; I think it's not coincidental that we have a high registration and this legislation at the same time, but you can't vote unless you're a credentialled clergy or laypersons (Rep from a church) They don't allow tables at the meeting trying to influence votes on legislation but I hope we're not going to heave to wade through loud group protestors outside on either side of the issue.

Last night I woke up from a nightmare in which there was a terrorist attack by ISIS or something at the meeting. As far as I recall they have metal detectors before you go in the Conf rooms, but still-this nightmare was very unsettling.

I would appreciate your prayers for our group. The meeting starts on Thursday and goes through part of Saturday. Uggh.
