Obama: We're Going to Have to Change "How the Media Reports" To Get More Redistribution of Wealth

Well.

You define a leftwing radical as one who believes the center left is just too conservative.

I think that the effort to suggest that the poor are sponges, leeches, don’t want to work, are lazy, are undeserving, got traction. And look, it’s still being propagated. I have to say that if you watch Fox News on a regular basis, it is a constant venue. They will find folks who make me mad. I don’t know where they find them. They’re all like, “I don’t want to work. I just want a free Obama Phone, or whatever.” And that becomes an entire narrative that gets worked up.

I haven't seen anything like this in a long time. I'm not even sure the Obamaphone lady was ever on FoxNews.

I think he's actually just making this up. He's assuming about things he doesn't know about. Which is his preferred mode of thought.

And very rarely do you hear an interview of a waitress, which is much more typical -- who is raising a couple of kids and doing everything right but still can’t pay the bills.

And so, if were going to change how Rep. John Boehner and Sen. Mitch McConnell think, we’re going to have to change how our body politic thinks, which means we're going to have to change how the media reports on these issues, and how people's impressions of what it’s like to struggle in this economy looks like. And how budgets connect to that. And that’s a hard process because that requires a much broader conversation than typically we have on the nightly news.

This dapper little Chavista just tosses off hair-raising bon mots like this thoughtlessly -- we're just going to change how private institutions report the news.

12 Redistribution of Wealth is just setting up an oligarchy. Very very rich elites, and the proles.

Penalizing productivity simply stifles mobility and the very rich (and powerful) have the latitude to wall themselves off from the penalty.

What's worse is the realization I had recently about the Republican party: they like having a Democrat in the White House.

What's worse is that Republicans don't even care if they control Congress...but prefer to...if given the choice.

You don't believe me? Look how happy the R's in Congress are right now -- they love this arrangement -- they *love* having obama in the White House.

Republicans *want* a D in the White House and don't you ever forget it.

It's about how a guy found something he really enjoyed doing and was once able to support a family doing it. That is, right up until his own government decided that there would be a New Economy and gave away an entire productive and growing segment of the economy to our communist enemy. Then over 10,000 small businesses were closed here and he hasn't seen his skills in demand in many years.

I'd like to tell that asshole my story.

The first step to recovery is admission.

WE need to admit several things about the GOP.
First of all, the GOP is not an opposition party and has no interest in ever being so.

Second, the GOP is not a small or even a medium-sized government party.

Gawd. The degradation of this country, that such an alien buffoon could have any public position, much less the presidency.

So will the Fox WH guys have fun with this, hammer the spokeshole for examples, and mock the idea that a struggling waitress doing everything right owes any of her problems to one cable TV network, vs. the economically disastrous policies of this idiot and his ilk?

Will the pathetic and disastrous McConnell and Boehner respond, with their own mockery?

I can provide them some, gratis:

"I haven't watched Fox News in years, but in any case I certainly don't get my idea of economics and the role of government from TV - although this president several times has said he first learned of huge and important scandals and lawbreaking from the news.

Unlike this president, I understand that lawlessness, and ruinous taxation and regulation, destroy economic opportunity. This administration destroys jobs through its so-called environmental mischief, its disastrous attack on health care finance, and by pushing misguided minimum wage laws, and then has the arrogance to blame other people for an economy flat on its back 6 years after a crisis itself caused by massive and misguided government intervention.

It's high time the president stopped musing on controlling the press, like some Third World strongman, and educated himself about the constitution and real-world economics"

I know. McConnell and Boehner. Lucky if they even notice this jaw-dropping insolence and idiocy from the alien buffoon in the Oval Office.

It's about how a guy found something he really enjoyed doing and was
once able to support a family doing it. That is, right up until his own
government decided that there would be a New Economy and gave away an
entire productive and growing segment of the economy to our communist
enemy. Then over 10,000 small businesses were closed here and he hasn't
seen his skills in demand in many years.

I'd like to tell that asshole my story.

New stat: Labor economist Clyde Prestowitz attributes 60 percent of the U.S.' 5.7 million manufacturing jobs lost over the last decade to import-driven trade imbalances.

One more trade agreement from perfection. That is, if you define perfection as the complete loss of manufacturing jobs to communist countries.

Real 1984 stuff. Further referring to the Citizenry as the "Body Politic" is usually done by authoritarians who presume the Sovereignty of the State as "head" and the people as the "body" to be controlled. To be fair:

Sit in a box in a machine that has a deep hum while watching 2 steel rails come at you and the scenery can be monotonous also. This machine is heavily sprung and so you are isolated from any positional inputs that humans normally rely on. All you have to go on is your eyes and the speed dial.

You're only control is two levers on the dash. One is the dead man switch and the other is the throttle.

You have some other dials but the main one is speed.

Now the speed signs (of course you've made this trip dozens or at least many times but you can't remember them all and where they are and the speed changes) come at you and the signs are only about 18" x 18".

Now imagine you are near the end of your run. You're tired, having trouble concentrating and just can't wait for you to get to the stations so you can stretch (oh did I mention you sit in that chair for most of the ride. You may get a break and stretch a bit now and then. Depends on the union contract and if there's a relief engineer).

Now imagine you've been tooling along at 65-75 and you're now in a slight downslope so your speed is increasing slowly but increasing. Now you come up fairly rapidly to a radical change of speed. You freeze for a moment "how the fcuk did I get here so quick" and then you think "should I try the brakes?" Maybe not cause you might tip the engine over or derail as you've now got TONS of mass pushing you into this curve.

Well by that time it's too late as physics has taken over and the train begins to tilt due to centripetal forces and now the whole train has gone over and you're luck your alive cause the engine could've gotten pushed into an abutment or off the roadbed into a ditch or ravine.

Now the real terror begins. The arrival of the NTSB investigators.

240 The problem with Obama's little plan -- and by "little plan," I mean decades-long Marxist infiltration and corruption of the media which started long ago and is still progressing as we speak -- is that reality trumps propaganda every time.

The media could fool the outside world that "the grain harvest in the Ukraine is doing better than ever" under the compulsory collectivization of the communists -- but they couldn't fool the Ukrainian farmers and their grumbling bellies and emaciated children.

The reason that the majority of people believe that

a. facilitating welfare dependency only further creates a culture of dependency that ever escalates; and
b. there is massive fraud and abuse of the welfare system...

is NOT because the media tricks them into believing this (as if), but rather because people see the dependency and fraud happening every day with their own eyes. All the propaganda by leftist media shills can't compete with the reality of first-person observation.

Gramscian indoctrination only ever produces normative conformity (outward agreement with the mob), but never "informational conformity" (actually changing one's opinion despite personal evidence).

Where I live, bumpers stickers like that on a car would mark you as the most conservative person in the neighborhood. They at least make a nod to normal values.

More typical around here would be "USA = Terrorist Regime" and "Smash the Patriarchy."

NOT allowed to.

Engineer MUST be pressing down on the deadman's switch at all times while in motion. If not enough pressure is exerted the brakes will automatically come on and stop the train. (don't know if there's a way to abort that from inside the cab)

If that happens to an Engineer it's a write up and an investigation with possible disciplinary actions taken.

275 Hrm. I may have to dust of that blog I don't have over this one. It deserves a bit more in-depth analysis, I reckon.

There's the obvious angle of "What if a Republican had said it," and then that leads directly into this: if a Republican *had* said it, it would be "a threat" and "chilling free speech."

Yet when TFG says it, it really *is* a threat and an attempt to chill free speech.

293 Folks don't realize that we're running twentieth and twenty first century trains at speed over rails and roadbed designs that are centuries old.

In Japan and Germany and France (due to the war destruction) they redesigned their roadbeds for faster travel. Which is why they can sport 200-400 mph train travel.

Britain to a lesser extent did not suffer that much destruction but they were able to do some redesign so they have faster trains also.

Here in the USofA, it costs too much just for the property purchases let alone the construction and these days it's impossible due to NIMBY and Greens.

So we're stuck with 19th century roadbed routing.

It's just that in most areas, the Left has such social dominance that to express contrary opinions would self-ostracize you, and likely put you at risk for harassment or vandalism.

Because that's actually the story of his life. He hasn't built anything. Everything has been given to this middling to low-performer his entire life and he knows it. Somehow he became THE Affirmative Action Hire and, truly, nothing he's accomplished could've happened without countless others doing all the lifting. He reads a teleprompter. That's what he built. President
Barack Obama told a gathering at Georgetown University on Tuesday that
the problem isn't racial segregation, it's wealth segregation,
manifested by "elites" who "are able to live together, away from folks
who are not as wealthy."

To combat this problem, the Obama family will relocate to
Baltimore, somewhere near Greenmount Ave and North Ave, after the end of
the current presidential term. Both Obama children will be training
with special operation forces during their summer off from Sidwell
Friends School to prepare themselves for the reality of their new home.

There is certainly something to the idea that white people move out of central cities to get away from black people. But then you have to explain why so many black people move out of inner cities as soon as they can afford to do so.

Maybe it has more to do with the fact that Democrats are very good at getting people who don't know any better to vote for them and absolutely abysmal at governance. Anybody who can afford to moves out of places governed by Democrats. Perhaps if Republicans rethought their strategy of running as "We are the second worst people you could possibly have in government."

415 omg, i get so tired of this garbage. if ya don't want to be poor, get a marketable job skill, don't have kids before you have a spouse and a career, and don't abuse drugs or alcohol. in addition, be willing to work hard.

if a woman is a waitress raising two kids and can't pay the bills then perhaps she should transfer to a restaurant that is more upscale so she can get better tips. she should also work towards attaining some new job skills.

but regardless, people make choices in life, and the rest of us should not have to pay for other people's choices. we are all responsible for our own condition in life.

if ya don't want to do your homework, fine, someone else will. they will get into the school instead of you. they will also get the job with a good salary, and you will end up working for peanuts possibly as a waitress that can't make enough money to pay the bills.

choices...it's not rocket science....it comes down to choices...
