Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Mitch McConnell Praises Barack Obama, Ted Kennedy, Makin' Deals with DemocratsSpeaking at the Kennedy Institute, Mitch McConnell appealed to his actual constituency -- Beltway/Accela Corridor establishment liberals. The Boston Globe reports, "Majority leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky said Kennedy was someone who could separate the personal from the political and who stayed true to his word. Those are characteristics that will help the body function better in the future, and there are already signs of progress, McConnell said."Strangely, he didn't inform his voters about his take on "how politics should be conducted" when he conned them into voting for him. Senators are just government workers like any other. They all are just bureaucrats, pulling federal checks and resenting their clientele for bothering them. They think they know better than the public they pretend to serve and do very little but scheme to ignore the public's wishes until they can start pulling their government pensions. Off-Topic: But I expect this is what people will be talking about -- George Zimmerman shot through his car window in Florida. I take this to be yet another assassination attempt or, I guess I should say, a "protest." Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Hot Tip to Republicans:
We did not elect you to send love letters to Obama and to "work together" and to be a cute "odd couple" you dicks. We elected you to stop the statist agenda in DC, which you PROMISED TO DO when you were asking for our votes and money. As in, gave *us* your word. You like that Ted Kennedy kept his word with you? Yeah, we the voters -- the people you represent, allegedly -- would appreciate to get the same level of treatment that Ted Kennedy gave to you. At a minimum. Instead we're getting the same treatment that Ted Kennedy and Chris Dodd gave to waitresses. Posted by: mynewhandle at May 11, 2015 02:24 PM (AkOaV) 38

No, it's not perfectly acceptable because here's what it really means: we'll go on the Senate floor and make a big show out of "disagreeing" but really at the end of the day, we're all on the same team and fuck the voters. McConnell is definitely one of those rare instances where conservatives should have voted Democrat in the General Election and watched him be defeated. I thought that "strategy" was stupid until seeing him in action as Majority Leader.
The problem is, conservatives voting for closet left-wing Democrats in deep red states is not really a good long term strategy for anything except feeling good for maybe 24 hours. Posted by: McAdams at May 11, 2015 02:46 PM (DJolZ) Posted by: comrade at May 11, 2015 02:46 PM (nqBYe) 203

Everyone should always vote against the guy that betrayed them in office then lies about what he believes. Every single time. Seriously, what difference would one more Democrat in congress make over having this turd in office? How would McConnell being defeated have changed a single thing for the worse?
Always, always, always vote against these scum, in primary and in general. Every time. No matter who they are up against. Until voters stop trying to be subtle and tricky and start bringing the hammer every time, they will never, ever listen. Why should they? They can do anything they want and rely on voters to "pick the lesser evil" and put them back in power, to do it more. Posted by: Christopher Taylor at May 11, 2015 02:49 PM (39g3+) 214

the only conservative interest groups that have held their own or made gains against the left and progressivism in general are the NRA and the prolife movement. The common thread is that they both have steadfastly refused to compromise if it meant abandoning even an iota of their bedrock principles. They know that any compromise position becomes the new line of scrimmage in the left's never ending battle to assert their power.
