Pam Geller's great. She led the fight and won here in NYC to allow anti Islam ads on buses and subways. Unfortunately, I saw a few pro PLO posters in Forest Hills (heavily Jewish). Then the brave MTA decided to ban all political adverts of any kind.

And the 11:00pm news last night had no mention of it at all.

Sort of goes along with the reports of the yutes of unknown race attacking multiple individuals, multiple times in Charleston.

67 The Sunday Show DOOM got to be too much for me yesterday so I headed for the woods. The better half was off organizing a music festival all day, so I just threw on some hiking clothes, grabbed my backpack and set off by myself for an easy afternoon walk in the woods.

The weather was spectacular here in the Western NY area all weekend, with temps in the high 70s but a nice breeze coming in off the lakes. The sun was shining through the treetops, the birds singing and chirping away, squirrels scampering all about, the leaves rustling in the wind. For a few glorious hours it was as if the problems of the world had melted away.

I had brought some baggies with me, so I collected some yellow birch twigs and basswood flowers for tea. The woodland margins are just a-burstin' with tender, succulent young greens, so I filled a large bag with dandelion and chicory greens, plantago leaves and a green onion or two to snip over this dinner-salad-to-be. Served it up later with a hot bacon dressing.

As always, a day in the woods is my perfect tonic for the seemingly-endless DOOM.

I see it as a group of people who are going through life with their heads in the sand.

I understand her role on the show was supposed to be larger, being Kirk's main squeeze, but that she was a bit of a mess with drugs and alcohol and an unreliable performer, so her role was severely curtailed.

They also have a singular ignorance of the reality of life in Islamic societies. They have a romanticized vision based on having watched Aladdin one too many times as a kid. What they don't understand at all is that to rule an Islamic society is to always be riding the tiger and forever looking over your shoulder. No ruling dynasty lasts long, and their exits tend to be as spectacular as they are bloody.

Over the weekend, I came into the possession of a few machines for basically the cost of moving them. I got a great Bridgeport, Reed surface grinder, an engine lathe, CNC OD grinder, possibly a 36" belt sander and all the ancillary tools, collets, etc.

Only trouble is that it's all 440 3 phase, so I have to find a building to buy or lease to put them in. I've been leasing storage space, so now's a good time to dump that and consolidate under one roof.

The search is on.

There's no way to get the 3 phase service at the house because it's stepped down at the front of the neighborhood and everything is underground from there on in.

It sure would be handy to have everything at home, but having a playshop has been talked about for awhile. We need room to store trailers, my son's boat, snowmobiles, ATVs and all the other crap that's filling up my storage units.

A friend just built a pole barn with shop 40 by 80 at his house and it worked out great, but he's limited on his power for the same reason.
