So liberal friend who is fighting common core for her kids is upset
about Education Secretary Arne Duncan threatening that the Feds might have to "step in " if too many people opt out and don't comply with the testing requirements. She links to aYouTube video made by another liberal Mom even more outraged. In it, she goes on, quite admirably, about Federal intrusion into our lives and states this is what happens when the Federal govt . doesn't listen to the people and becomes oppressive and shows scenes from assorted demonstrations in the past. Most notable was the King "I have Dream Speech" and shots of civil rights protesters. Really? The civil rights movement was in response to Federal intrusion in our lives ? Of course not. The Federal govt passed the Civil Rights Act in response to discrimination in the states. Worse, that law has now been used and abused to grow the power of the Federal govt beyond anything imaginable at the time and as a pretext for more govt control in our lives. In particular, it is being used by Arne Duncan who cited historical racism and civil rights, as a need for Common Core Testing. I'm glad these liberal soccer mom's are fighting Common Core but it would help if they would get their historical facts straight and understand that it is their political heroes that are shoving it down their throats. Also, many seem convinced evil corporations are behind this, not a power hungry Federal govt. Shows how deep the brainwashing is in much of he citizenry. On Clinton's age, Republican rivals imply -- but never say -- she's old
(Reuters) - Her campaign barely three weeks old, Hillary Clinton already has been attacked by Republicans on everything from donations to her family's charitable foundation, to her tenure as secretary of state and her ties to Wall Street. But her rivals, and the political action committees that support them, are treading more carefully on one incendiary subject: her age. .. of course, they know that old Reagan joke about youth and inexperience is just wating for them. The oldest president to assume office: 1) Ronald Reagan was 69.95 years of age, Jan 20, 1981 Hillary Clinton would be 69.3 years of age, Jan 20, 2017 2) William Henry Harrison was 68.06 years of age, March 4, 1841 Elizabeth Warren would be 67.6 years of age, Jan 20, 2017 3) James Buchanan was 65.86 yeas of age, March 4, 1857 Posted by: H. and body cams for all police aren't going to show very much when an officer is grappling with a suspect who is resisting. It won't show much when the suspect and an officer are struggling for control of the officer's service weapon, and the camera is pressed up against the suspect's shirt, and the other officers (if any) are standing on the wrong side of the struggle, or involved in a struggle of their own with a second suspect. Since everyone keep mentioning commie day I will repeat #694
Good Morning Morons. Today is Friday, May 01, 2015 and is a traditional holiday known as May Day. Originally it was a celebration of spring with dancing around the "May Pole". However in modern times the communists have usurped that celebration with their own version to celebrate the Haymarket Riot in Chicago, which actually occurred on May 4th. Only a communist would celebrate a riot (which they caused BTW by throwing a dynamite bomb at police). I suppose down the road somewhere these black communists who are causing all the modern riots across the nation will pick some traditional holiday to celebrate torching their neighborhoods and looting. Probably call it Hands Up Don't Shoot Day and hold it on July 4th. Posted by: Vic We Have No Party at May 01, 2015 08:46 AM (wlDny) 127

Well, Charlie and Linus never made anything of themselves. Ahem - Linus never made anything of himself? I guess you must not be an IT guy if you've never heard of the operating system he created. Charlie Brown - well- what did you expect? Last I heard he was working in a Call Center fielding complaints. Posted by: Lokki at May 01, 2015 09:22 AM (a5F9g) 233

Seriously. I've never left my weapon somewhere it was not one of a) in my complete and immediate control or b) locked away so that others could not access it. I know the rules of gun safety. I can hit center mass of a target out to 25 yards (I'm not going to win any awards or competitions, but if I need to defend myself or my family, I'm at least competent to hit that at which I aim). My carry weapon (the only one not lost in that tragic boating accident) lives in a gun safe which my children cannot access. Before said tragic boating accident, my other weapons lived in an even more secure gun safe (there will always be a tradeoff between security and convenience). Yet there are many who would say I'm not "qualified" to carry a weapon and "only the police should be able to carry guns." Then sh*t like this happens. Or the cops in CA or NY get in a shootout and hit innocents, or just kind of "spray and pray" in an area.
