When my 14 year old daughter first started having sleep over parties, I was appalled at the lack of manners and decorum (to use some old fashioned words) of her friends, particularly the girls who played soccer. They burped (and thought it was funny), farted on each other, jumped on my furniture, basically acted like what I considered to be badly behaved boys.
Those girls are still a little too "chill" in the manners department for my tastes, but they would never, ever, cry and whine about a "bikini body." Heck, they might be lusting after her too. I'm hoping THOSE girls will save the gender ...

A reporter asked Lena Dunham and her producer why Lena was naked in a large number of scenes on the show, since it didn't seem to have any story line or artistic purpose.
And Lena and the producer both WENT OFF on the reporter for "body shaming" and such.
I mean, can we have a moment of honesty here? Unless it somehow advances the plot in a major way, no one wants to see 95% of their fellow humans naked on TV.
ScarJo? Yes. But probably only for the next 5-10 years, then she will join the other 95%.

I can lose fat, gain muscle (or vice versa) pretty easily. A lot of other people I know can't.
If I stop drinking beer and eating pizza for a month, I'm back down to my weight in high school. If I eat like an animal, I gain 10-20 pounds and hold steady there.
I have friends who eat like a rabbit and run half marathons, but can't lose that "last 10 pounds".
I'm convinced genes are more important than diet and exercise.

Exercise so that you have greater physical capabilities. So that you can lift heavy things, so that you can move all day and not be exhausted, so that you can pursue new hobbies. You may not lose weight, but you'll often gain muscle and look better.

I used to life weights semi competitively when I was younger. I was really strong, but I never had the defined muscles with ridges and popping veins look that some people naturally get.
...And then I know guys who hit the gym once a month or less that have 6 packs, defined muscles, and look like they just walked off a weight loss pill commercial on the "after" side.
SO i mean... we're all limited by our genes.

My understanding is that developing strengthvs muscle definition require different workout regimines. And veins and six-pack abs are less about working out and more about getting rid of body fat and excess water. Hence why some of the bodybuilders that I've worked with when I was in the Army hated life right before competitions. They were basically starving and dehydrating themselves.
I actually don't like seeing women with six-packs because you lose everything else fun about her. I like hips and tits.

What's funny is that they're going after Beach Body and not more pervasive, and much more powerful purveyors of (mostly) unattainable standards of beauty - fashion magazines that photoshop already beautiful women, and Hollywood. And women like Charize are just born that way (along with whatever they do to stay fit) - you cannot surgically get that, so why not just enjoy it like you would a pretty painting or sculpture?
It's their same of trick - demonize an easy target while giving the more powerful, fellow-traveler target a pass.

I have a transgender 7 year old daughter. She has become a beautiful, happy, vibrant person since she started transitioning a year ago. I have no reason to think her identity will change and neither does her therapist.
Because she is so young, she will most likely go on puberty blockers before she ever creates sperm. If she then goes onto hormone treatments directly from the blockers, she will be sterile. She will never create sperm.
She's too young to tell me whether she might someday want biological children, and I strongly suspect, knowing her personality as I do, that she will not want to give up hormone treatments for the length of time it would take to create sperm, because the effects on HER would be, well, significant.
I am in a 'Parent of Trans kids' group online and several of the moms mentioned that they were freezing their own eggs for their transgender daughters, so that their daughters could someday have the option of having children who are at least partially related to them. On the one hand, it seems like a huge expense for my daughter to be able to have a child who is a genetic half-sibling... but on the other hand, I see the reasoning. I am also a chronic worrier and I wonder if doing this would cause the child to feel pressured to use the eggs even if they didn't really want to. :-/

As for women, I think its foolish to go for the super hot model babe types that blind you when they smile. It _is_ childish. It _is_ a stunted way to view and interact with other people. It shows a definite lack of self-awareness to be so easily offended by such things. There is nothing wrong with feeling a little awkward when you see an attractive person of the same gender (especially if you feel that they are a rival) but really... they should have learned this in their mean girl days. I personally would rather see pretty people on a billboard than a plump middle-aged hag.
Think about it, you see a heavy homely person on a billboard, you're not looking at the product anymore, you're thinking 'wow that person is ugly, I don't want to look at that everyday.'

I have noticed that both hot women and good salesmen are very good at getting other people to do things for them. Some years ago I spent one of the unhappiest periods of my life trying to sell stuff. There were some technical aspects of the job which I found to be trivially easy but the other guys seemed to struggle with. One guy kept trying to get me to do his technical stuff for him. I told him that I would show him how to do it but I would not do it for him. Eventually he learned.
I ran into him some time after I had left that place and he was working somewhere else doing the same thing. He told me that they treated him like some kind of wonder boy there because not only could he sell but he also knew how to do the technical aspects of the job.

I have a transgender 7 year old daughter. She has become a beautiful, happy, vibrant person since she started transitioning a year ago. I have no reason to think her identity will change and neither does her therapist.
Because she is so young, she will most likely go on puberty blockers before she ever creates sperm. If she then goes onto hormone treatments directly from the blockers, she will be sterile. She will never create sperm.
She's too young to tell me whether she might someday want biological children, and I strongly suspect, knowing her personality as I do, that she will not want to give up hormone treatments for the length of time it would take to create sperm, because the effects on HER would be, well, significant.
I am in a 'Parent of Trans kids' group online and several of the moms mentioned that they were freezing their own eggs for their transgender daughters, so that their daughters could someday have the option of having children who are at least partially related to them. On the one hand, it seems like a huge expense for my daughter to be able to have a child who is a genetic half-sibling... but on the other hand, I see the reasoning. I am also a chronic worrier and I wonder if doing this would cause the child to feel pressured to use the eggs even if they didn't really want to. :-/

There's a graph which shows hotness on one axis and bitchiness on the other. The 'datable' zone is not where you'd assume most men would put it (on the high-hotness end). The 'marriage-material' zone is even more skewed towards the 'not bitch' side, regardless of physical appearance.

I think they can also do a lot with lighting, camera angles and perspective to make them look bigger (after all, they manage to make Tom Cruise look adult sized). When I watched the behind-the-scenes extras of the filming of Warrior, Tom Hardy doesn't look nearly as big and muscular as in the final product.

How do they know that their child is not simply acting out for attention? How do they know that their child is not 'rejecting gender norms' because of something they said or hinted at? How do they know for sure that this child is not convinced that he can change his gender because of something the therapist said?
I have a feeling that this is going to hit the fan someday but society should not have to hold peoples' hands when they go out of their way to break with the reality of their DNA.
