Why should we give them anything for a bridge? Let them have a physically discontinuous country like Pakistan in 1947. If they decide to go to war with each other in 20 or 30 years like Pakistan, that is fine too. If they want to be physically united, they can join Canada. Of course, if Alberta desires to join the free country, that will be another problem for those people.

53 These pics we get daily, and Ace's Twitter soliloquy about splitting the country, make me think, who gets all the good places?

Coastal New England, California's central coast and wine country, Oregon, San Diego, all that and more is already taken by the nerd prommers.

So we get Minot? Rapid City? I know, the hill country is nice, but do we have to ask all the Austin hipsters to move?

Or do we, within our own territories, simply wall off all the university towns?

California would evolve into riots soon enough (southern CA and Oakland, at least.)

We could eventually absorb the eastern halves of Washington State and Oregon, once all the Progs have left.

82 Mattress girl case. The guy was suing under Title IX saying he was discriminated against because he was a man. The judge dismissed.

Judge Jesse Furman argued in his dismissal that John failed to prove that he was discriminated against because he was a man. Furman made no attempt to re-adjudicate John's case or whether colleges and universities should even be handling criminal matters like sexual assault. Instead, Furman focused solely on whether John was discriminated against because he was a man, and ignored other claims in the lawsuit.

Miltenberg also believes Furman held John to "an insurmountable pleading standard; requiring us to basically provide evidence that the panel members uttered statements specifically reflecting gender bias."

Miltenberg accused Furman of having a "pre-determined decision" and said that John still has "viable state law claims that he may still pursue in [New York] state court.

92 little shyning man, funny you mention CA central coast and San Diego. Sure, two of the nicest places in the country, but actuallythe two coastal sections of the state (along with the mysterious and mostly unpopulated far north coast) that are not yet completely lost.

SD is poised on the precipice (much worse than it used to be, obviously). But nothing like LA or of course that alien freakshow up near that big bay thinggy. Replaced Filthy Filner with a GOP mayor, voted down a stupid min. wage law, and yes an odd one but interesting, a few years ago crushed a referendum item asking the USMC to leave Miramar so the new SD airport of legend could go there. Small things of varying significance, but it's not yet LA. And of course there remain pockets of coastal SoCal (in Orange and Ventura cos.) that are non-moonbat.

And I think central coast is actually fine. Still not transformed, ag interests, small town traditional forces still predominate, I think.

101 >>You really want Michigan, Wisconsin & Minnesota? Why?

Principle. You don't win by ceding ground. Conan didn't answer what is best in life by saying rolling over and taking it in the ass from my enemies.

Tolerance does not equal acquiescence and approval. Just because I agree to tolerate some things I don't agree with doesn't mean they get to force me to approve of everything they want or leave. It means at best we compromise on certain issues or we fight and if we fight then I win and they lose.

The idea of ceding any more ground than we already have to the pajama boys of this country is sickening to me.

Too many interconnections. The only reason for the strength of this country is that it spans the continent.

That means trade and that means diplomacy and that means somebody's going to take it in the butt. And the political jack weasels will once again be in charge.

They can't be considered self sufficient if they can't grow their own food, pump their own water or any other strategic material.

Which is why they've been seized by the Democrats for so long because only they have the philosophy which condones parasitism and that's mostly what large cities have become. Besides being central foci for the illegal, the lazy and the insane.

The city states of the medieval era were a different animal than the cities we see these days.

One aspect of this is that there would be a demographic shift as black people who have been told by Democrats for decades that Republicans want to enslave them or kill and eat them will flee like the Palestinians fled when Israel was created. Actually, I think you'd be surprised.

Sure, TX has a few real tools- Wendy Davis, the Castro brothers, Eddie Bernice Johnson, etc. And, sure, with Federally required Gerrymandering, it means that the cities tend to vote Democrat more.

Additionally, I don't know much about Charlotte, NC.

That said, if you think San Antonio is as progressive as, say, Chicago, I think you're mistaken. Even Austin is more "weird" than really progressive. The two look so similar it's often hard to distinguish (and Austin is certainly the most progressive city in TX), but I think the state divide is the most clear we're going to get outside of mass (forced) migrations.

The "legitimate avenues of consequence" are being closed off to us daily - observe:

Elections? Bought and paid for, with a side of voter fraud. Besides, the parties you vote for are just two sides of the same coin anyway. The "illusion of choice".

Courts? Politically motivated, appointed judges who disregard existing law and public opinion/votes to hold as they see fit. No "standing", not the right "protected class", all used to dismiss legitimate claims etc.

Executive officers? Involved in so much corruption that we can't keep track of it, which they will never, ever see the inside of a jail cell for, since they will never arrest themselves. Vote them out? Ha! See above.

Legislatures? If they aren't corrupt, they're are just handing their powers over to the Executive or the Judicial, to the point that the Executive is unbounded by law and knows it.

Media? Hah!

Education? Hah Hah!

This dismissed case is just one more example of a door to a "legitimate avenue of consequence" shut in his face. Because he isn't the "protected" gender and the suit uses the SJWs own "rules" against them. And we can't have that. Is the Judge a woman? A feminist? That's the only reasons you need to explain the dismissal.

When the "legitimate avenues of consequence"get closed off, the "illegitimate avenues of consequence"gain popularity. And no "good" is gonna come from it.

That we are in the minority is the biggest lie since Goebbels and the one where the Devil convinced a lot of people he doesn't exist.

Conservatives (self identified by belief and/or affiliation) are the majority in the country. At least in the control/occupation of physical land.

The current majority is a ginned up mix of voter fraud, political bribery and segregation. The appearance is encouraged daily by the Media. (Ever wonder why they continue to do so? It's because they know they have to keep the lie going or it all falls apart).

All it takes is for conservatives to say:

"Enough"

"Molon Labe"

"Come and make me"

and the courage to accept the possible consequences because in some places it's not going to work and no one will know for sure where it will work until it's tried.

269 We could fix this without separation if only we could do a few things like forbid those on government assistance from voting, and eliminating affirmative action.

As long as we have a universal franchise, there is no way to turn things around. The drones and parasites will always vote themselves greater shares of the wealth created by the productive people.

Affirmative action has destroyed the traditional meritocracy by compelling the hiring and promotion of the lazy, incompetent, and stupid.

Yes, they do say that.

Because social security "which we all paid in to' and which is "MOST DEFINITELY NOT WELFARE, WINGNUT!" tends to be paid out to old retirees, who tend to live in low-tax VERY HOT states like Florida, Arizona, SC, NC, GA, etc.

And because our military bases tend to be in red states.

And because many of our southern states are full of poor southern blacks on welfare (and poor southern whites, too.)

Plus the cost of living is much lower, so salaries are lower but standards of living are usually higher in many southern states over northern ones.

So add all of that up, and there you have it. Requires a very selective reading of the data, but you can use those numbers to say "red states take more out of the treasury than blue states do, proportionate to income"

Posted by: HR braucht ein Bier at April 27, 2015 11:31 AM (/kI1Q)"

You see it that way. I see it as, optimally, coming to a peaceful consensus to dissolve the political bands that had connected one people to another. Once a new set of lines are drawn, people will decide whether they are happy where they are or if they think they would be happier on the other side of the line. If they believe that they would be happier in the other place, they have to decide if the other attractions of home or family are more important than other considerations. Read the sort of thing that Victor Davis Hanson writes these days about how life in his part of the world has been changed from Golden State California to third world status on the edge to descent into Mad Max style anarchy.

If it happens, I would recommend getting out while the getting is good. I would predict walls going up within a few years. The red state areas are likely to build walls to restrict immigration to legal means.

Thanks. I read the article. It does not sound like the lawsuit that was filed last week, since the student in the suit had been found "guilty" and in the new suit, the guy was cleared. I have not read the decision, but I don't think Judge Furman can re-adjudicate a determination of fault.

It is possible that his attorney could have brought an Article 78 of the Civil Practice Law and Rules in State Court to challenge the determination/adjudication of Columbia - but there is a short time frame to do it - State law specifically provides the courts with jurisdiction to review the decision of tribunals, corporations et al. Though a party generally only has 90 days to commence an Article 78 proceeding.

I think we may be in for a totalitarian takeover in this country (divided or not) in my lifetime. I didn't think that was possible, and no, I'm not discounting the slow creep toward it we live in now.

What I do think though, is that there is a tipping point for the leftists. The point at which they feel they have enough of an upper hand to stop faking it. When they start the mass encampments, the clandestine disappearances in the night, followed by shots to the head, unmarked graves... people who thought they were preserving something will be the ones huddled into mass graves. Stripped of their clothing, stripped of their dignity.

The left has ever been thus. It's only a question of how free they have been to exercise their beliefs. Marx and Rousseau only talked about it. Their 20th century children practiced it. I wonder if the 21st century is the one where they perfect it.

Well, yes. There is that matter of Progressives and Muslims sharing an absolute belief that they should run the world and unbelievers should bend the knee and submit to taxes of face unremitting war. Did you know that during the golden age of Islam, Muslims were a ruling minority in the countries they controlled? The Christians and Jews were the ones actually doing the work. Over the generations enough people decided that being a dhimmi was a sucker's game and now those countries are overwhelmingly Muslim and aside from unearned oil wealth, they are not in a golden age.

The thing is that we can fight an external enemy a lot better than an internal enemy that has already taken over our national government, our education system and our media. They also face the vulnerability that all of their political power is concentrated in cities which are much more vulnerable to nuclear weapons or large conventional weapons like MOAB.

333 Latest update about Harry Reid injury - the story about him being beaten by his brother that was told on Power Line and by Rush Limbaugh (as possible) is a lie, or at least the person who told it says it was a lie - but the whole story contradicted some known facts about Alcoholics Anonymous and how the person realized is too pat ..
And the reason given for telling the lie is also a lie.
I think the lie was spread by Harry Reid.
It's a Clinton style cover-up.
(one element of some Klinton Konspiracy theories is the spreading of false theories, which can later be debunked, to entice and entrap and later discredit the skeptics.
Notable example: The TWA Flight 800 missile theory, which was invented in the White House the night of the crash. It had two versions, U.S. government, and terrorist.
