Who Will Stand? [OregonMuse]

Good article over on First Things about the SJW howling mob and its victims, and who will stand up to it?

Who, indeed?

The lynch mob is now giddy with success and drunk on the misery and pain of its victims. It is urged on by a compliant and even gleeful media. It is reinforced in its sense of righteousness and moral superiority by the "beautiful people" and the intellectual class. It has been joined by the big corporations who perceive their economic interests to be in joining up with the mandarins of cultural power. It owns one political party and has intimidated the leaders of the other into supine and humiliating obeisance.

Obviously, there is no hope that the GOPe will actually do anything like, you know, stand up and publically defend their constituents whose lives and businesses are being destroyed. No, they're never going to do anything like that. So I'm not talking about them. Rather, I'm talking about "good guys" on our side like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul and Scott Walker and Trey Gowdy. Has any of them used whatever bully pulpit they have to denounce the lynchings? Not that I have heard, but maybe I've missed it. I happened to be taking some time off work when the Indiana RFRA was passed and the howling mob swarmed all over Memories Pizza. I thought I was following events pretty closely, and I did not hear one, not one, GOP politician of national stature stand up for the owners of this small business. I was disheartened by this, but again, maybe somebody did speak out and I just missed it.

When things like this happen, I feel like I'm in a 'Mad Max' free-for-all zone now, no mercy, no law, no hope. Or, perhaps, Mad Max combined with a 24/7 Folsom Street Fair.

7 Brietbart > SJWs

Every time, never an exception.

Sadly, we've not learned the lessons he was teaching. Or at least, not enough of us have, as yet.

Much as I'm not a Rand Paul fan, he has at least shown a spine insofar as slapping down the Democrat Media Apparatus. (DMA) (newly copyrighted!)

That example and the Sad Puppy contingent, shows that it can be done be effective and be a winning strategy.

Even more than the Democrat Party, the DMA is our mortal enemy. And it's time we started treating them as such.

56 Remember how GoFundMe raised over $1 million for Memories Pizza?

Well, the SJWs didn't like that. They managed to get GoFundMe to shut down the fundraising for Sweet Cakes' legal defense:

Headline at The Oregonian 2015/04/25:

GoFundMe Fundraising Site for Sweet Cakes Owners Goes Dark

Late Friday night, anyone looking for the GoFundMe page set up to help the Gresham bakers facing a large unlawful discrimination award would have hit a dead end.

More precisely, they would get a "Campaign Not Found" message on the Support Sweet Cakes by Melissa web page.

A supporter of Aaron and Melissa Klein set up the campaign to help raise money for the couple after an administrative law judge for the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries issued a proposed order recommending they pay $135,000 in damages to a lesbian couple from Portland.

The BOLI judge said the Kleins illegally discriminated against Rachel and Laurel Bowman-Cryer when they refused the women's attempt to order a wedding cake, instead citing their Christian beliefs against same-sex marriage.

By 5 p.m. Friday, more than $66,000 had been raised toward a goal of $150,000. A lawyer for the Kleins said the GoFundMe.com web page had been authorized by her clients, owners of the bakery bearing Melissa's name.

By 9 p.m., it became apparent there were problems. Visitors to the web page encountered a terse note: "We're sorry, but the campaign URL you entered cannot be found."

It wasn't clear Friday what specifically led to the apparent shelving of the GoFundMe fundraiser. But in response to a query by The Oregonian/OregonLive, the San Diego-based company provided this email reply:

'Thank you for writing to us about this campaign.

After careful review by our team, we have found the "Support Sweet Cakes By Melissa" campaign to be in violation of our Terms and Conditions and have removed this campaign. The money raised thus far will still be made available for withdrawal.'

79 The new fundraising page for Sweet Cakes is at Samaritans Purse dot org.

This article just popped up at The Oregonian:

Sweet Cakes Owners Direct Donors to New Fundraising Site As They Look to Restart GoFundMe Campaign.

The two-year-old saga of the Oregon bakers who violated the state's anti-discrimination laws took another turn Saturday as they looked to restart a fundraising campaign to help them pay a potential six-figure debt.

GoFundMe shut down a page set up for the owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa late Friday, saying it violated the terms of service for the crowdfunding web site.

In a statement explaining the decision to close the account, GoFundMe said:

"After careful review by our team, we have found the "Support Sweet Cakes By Melissa" campaign to be in violation of our Terms and Conditions. The money raised thus far will still be made available for withdrawal. While a different campaign was recently permitted for a pizzeria in Indiana, no laws were violated and the campaign remained live. However, the subjects of the "Support Sweet Cakes By Melissa" campaign have been formally charged by local authorities and found to be in violation of Oregon state law concerning discriminatory acts. Accordingly, the campaign has been disabled."

Closure of the account came on the day that the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries issued a proposed order directing Aaron and Melissa Klein to pay $135,000 in damages to a lesbian couple who had come to their Gresham bakery in January 2013 to order a cake for their wedding.

The Kleins refused, citing their Christian beliefs against same-sex marriage. An administrative law judge ruled that the Kleins illegally discriminated on the basis of sexual orientation and on Friday, in a proposed order, recommended they pay damages to compensate the two women for their emotional suffering. Final authority to set the amount of damages lies with State Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian in issuing a final order.

Meanwhile, there are campaigns at GoFundMe for gang bangers, convicted felons (not indicted, convicted), of all types. For example, Jeremy Meeks. Google 'Superstar Felon Jeremy Meeks Raises Enough Money to Hire Top Lawyer'.

Excerpt:

News broke today that the felon with the famous mugshot, Jeremy Meeks, has officially raised enough money to purchase a well respected lawyer to represent him in court and Meeks also will be stylin' in court, raising enough money to rock a Tom Ford Suit to his trial. It's been reported that Meeks is planning to beat his case and is working on starting a career, still no word as to what exactly he will be doing but we can only imagine it will be something dealing with modeling. The money that the thirsty women across the world raised thru GoFundMe has also provided Meeks with the opportunity to hire a more than capable agent to help get his career started.

(a notion so unprovable that they had to change the name..) > the party that was made for the express purpose of defeating slavery is perceived as the racist party. >a president does things that he, himself said would be illegal and no one says squat, much less pitchforks and torches. Nobody seems to do much of anything as long as we can bury our faces in our cell phones.

Very much like wondering "what were those Germans really thinking while that Hitler guy was taking over?"

Actually, the Germans have a lot more excuse than we do. Their society was under assault by a collapsing economy, crushing reparations, and a budding communist insurgency, and some of them - 30ish % - voted for what they saw as the only way out.
We have no excuse. None. We, as a people, for our egregious stupidity and shortsightedness, deserve everything that is about to happen.

201 Who CAN stand?

O for a voice like thunder, and a tongue
To drown the throat of war! - When the senses
Are shaken, and the soul is driven to madness,
Who can stand?

When the souls of the oppressed
Fight in the troubled air that rages, who can stand?

When the whirlwind of fury comes from the
Throne of god, when the frowns of his countenance
Drive the nations together, who can stand?

When Sin claps his broad wings over the battle,
And sails rejoicing in the flood of Death;
When souls are torn to everlasting fire,
And fiends of Hell rejoice upon the slain.

O who can stand? O who hath caused this?
O who can answer at the throne of God?
The Kings and Nobles of the Land have done it!
Hear it not, Heaven, thy Ministers have done it!

There's no need to send them home. Remove the attractions that brought them here in the first place, and they will go home of their own accord. No free medical care, no free education, no work without proof of legal residence, in short, no free shit, and they'll go home voluntarily. All it takes is the will to be a dick about the whole thing, i.e., to be a dick to save the nation. So an issue comes up that this blog and other establishment blogs feel isn't as big a deal as it should be - that is the attack on Christian beliefs, and you nitpick on who should be making a stand - then you name the exact GOP candidates who fit the bill of not wanting to address this issue.

Sarah Palin and Mick Huckabee, both have more balls than Cruz, Paul, Walker, or any of those....It's just they don't fit into your model of who you want, so they get excluded.

Why?

Because we are ceding a lot of LIV mindspace to the left by pretending this has anything to do with a conflict of rights.

This is a coordinated attack on Christianity.

And if the various Republican governors were not cowards they would specifically be offering those being attacked refuge.

There seems to be a mutually agreed upon desire from both sides that this not degenerate into riots.

I have that on vhs. I loved that. Vintage Who. Ling, rambling, awful effects, but somehow the acting and the weirdness make it worthwhile.

463 What I don't get about Baltimore is that groups that organize these things must be on people's radar. They tend to use twitter and fb to communicate amongst themselves.

468 Is marines in Rome based on Edward Crichtons novel(s) The Last Roman, Praetorian series? Starts with a pope assembling an international 'seal team 6' to take on muzzies in a ww3 scenario and they end up zapped back to Caligula's time with a shipping container of supplies including first aid.

473 And probably not. What probably took down the Roman Empire was disintegration from the combination of bread and circuses, high taxes, and societal disintegration due to various elements that disenfranchised and excluded the yeomanry and urban productive classes in favor of the mob and the special position and privilege of the better classes.

476 "Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,

'Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.'

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

Yet I have set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, 'Thou art my son; this day have I begotten thee.

Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.'

Be wise now, therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Psalm 2, Old Testament, King James Version, 1611.

477 The lynch mob consists of political groups (e.g. ANSWER), unions, media, radicalized college students (away from mommy and daddy for the first time and whipped up into an emotional frenzy = mob). These are the henchmen of the left. They are the bullies, and as history has shown us, they'd be happy to put their countrymen into camps, confiscate their property, and kill them for holding differing views.
