and swhisher requires some script to run and I get tired of turning scripts on and off all the time and I have scripts turned off because I dont' know what else the scripts are doing which is why you can't get the thing you want without the scripts running because the interweb is using bait to lure unsuspecting innocent people into downloading stuff to get the cute and shinny thing they bait you with.

To me that's not "no fault." And if she's at fault for the divorce, then absolutely she shouldn't get anything. As you said- exceptions for "he was beating me," apply.

The problem is most guys, when their wife says "I want a divorce," are either too happy to get out of the relationship OR are so dumbfounded that they can't really respond. In either case, she gets to set all the terms.

I don't even want to think about going through such a thing, but if I did, I'd be finding the best lawyer I could to make sure that if she's the one who is leaving, that I'm not the one getting screwed.

That's all child support is - extra alimony. It has nothing to do with the actual cost of supporting a kid, as it's based entirely off of income, like the income tax calculation chart. There are absolutely no requirements that the mother use it for the kids' benefit, and there is no accountability mechanism.

Zactly that. If you notice, a lot of the philosphical bits were about crossing boundaries. Rorshach crossed the boundary by violating laws and also by killing the villians. The Comedian was the stereotypical Tool of the Patriarchy, so Not A Hero plus Rapey. Dr Manhattan was Above It All but became non-Human in the final analysis. The only happy endings were for the NiteOwl guy and the girl, but only because they looked the other way and decided, Candide-like, to tend to their own selves.

148 Delaware has no-fault, and got rid of alimony. Even better, in most cases, joint custody is the norm. In most cases, the house has to be sold and divded.

See, the custody thing is a sticky question even in the best circumstances. But the rest of that is the only way it can work.

Marriage (the institution, ceremonies, and social aspects anyway) was designed to protect women, to keep them from being used up and thrown out (among other things). That does not mean that it should be made into a weapon whereby a woman rakes a man over the coals.

No-fault divorce destroyed both of those. Now Marriage wasn't something that protected women fro being used up and thrown out, and it didn't take very long (in the grand scheme) for women then to start using divorce to their own advantage.

And failed marriage is sad. Marriages that fail because one or the other partner has decided to be evil? Those are worse.

Meaning, be able to be alert and pay attention, grab a blanket because every shot in every film he does looks frickin' cold, and be prepared at the end to feel intellectually enlightened but slightly depressed. If you can handle those it's good times; I can so for me it is. But I can also see why it got the hate it did.
