157 OK, I'm lazy. So I haven't kept up, but I think there are various outfits that try to track the overlap of illegals/serious crimes. Not a simple thing, obviously, due to both long-standing and newer, more nefarious reporting and stats policies.

But I recall that the % of outstanding warrants for serious felonies in LA County that were for illegals- this was, maybe, 4 years ago? - was ..... well, you wouldn't believe it. Most of them. Think it was higher than 80%. Of course you'd expect illegals to be more likely than locals to disappear from a given area, but still. And the DUI and DUI w/ fatalities and damage thing is epidemic in the Mexican illegal community. There are plenty of anecdotal examples from the likes of VDH in CA's central valley, but I think also that someone somewhere has been trying to track this too.

Anyway, it's perfectly logical that this pattern exists, when you examine the nature of the illegal influx. Of course the vast bulk have no violent or reckless criminal tendencies. But the minority that does is a much higher proportion of the total than in a normal sample of their home societies (or ours).

And it's not just Obama's "dreamers", or Lynch's - they're Rubio's, and Jeb's, and Dubya's, and ....... on and on. The illegal immigration catastrophe actually just parallels the other big optional disasters inflicted on the country - an irresponisble political class, and a mostly clueless/passive/dumb electorate (esp. including so-called educated people) who now are utterly indifferent to even the most insane policy, if it doesn't immediately, directly, concretely affect THEM. Not many citizens in the citizenry.

Funny how after the housing construction 'bust' started in 2008, a lot of these Mexican subs disappeared.

My wife and I bought a new house in 1991, and everybody on the crews, subcontractors, etc, were all pretty visibly Americans.

In 2002, when we built another new house, it had really changed. And I live in Ohio, not Texas or New Mexico, or California.

A guy that I work with was a foreman for a landscaping company in a frigid northern state (Minnesota) over ten years ago. Guys on his crews were frequently ''amigos'' and they had all the proper documentation on hand to show the ICE guys when they came around to inspect.
He didn't cook up the paperwork, but somebody sure did. We are all, in some sadly pathetic way, partly guilty in everything that has happened, even if it is just to look the other way and pretend nothing is happening.

And now, when our Central Government is determined to Look The Other Way because it will gain them political advantage, what good does any law do?

If business were faced with huge fines, they'd have incentive to verify status allot more than they do now. They aren't bad people, and I don't have that much animus towards them, but our own countrymen are facilitating this to depreciate the value of being a native born citizen.

And yet, so often (almost always), the people don't behave as the theory requires them to behave. And so the left constantly goes into conniptions trying first of all to FORCE people to behave as they ought to behave, and secondly (when Plan 1 doesn't work out, as it never does) trying to distract attention away from the failure of the theory.

So, as a clear, simple example of how this has played out:

Pre-existing fact:
Minorities do poorly in school on average.

Leftist theory to explain it:
The kids perform poorly in school because they have low self-esteem, and because the teachers are wittingly or unwittingly racist.

Leftist solution, imposed nationwide, courtesy of the Gramsci/Obama forces:
Pound esteem-raising messages into the brains of minority students from Nursery School onward, while simultaneously hector teachers into taking anti-racism training courses and then pressuring teachers to inflate grades for minority students.

Result:
Minority kids now in general have sky-high self-esteem, and they usually get passed through any classes they attend, regardless of performance.

And then the rocky shores of reality dash the leftist dreams:

Theory Failure:
Despite having high self-esteem and easy grading criteria, minority kids now do WORSE in school than they did before the leftist program was imposed.

Ooops!

This drives the left completely insane. They scream and rage and try to make everyone not notice that they had already gotten all their dream proposals enacted, and they failed to work; the students did not behave as expected. This results in an eruption of blame-shifting and dissembling and finger-pointing and noise-making, all intended to hide the fact that the theory failed -- and to demand that it get amped up even further, to make it work this time.

Multiply this whole process a thousand times over -- jobs for terrorists, family reunions for MS-13 gang members, restorative justice for budding psychopaths, handouts for the poor, etc. etc. -- and you get a history of the Left's failure and the status of 2015 America -- which are by now the same thing.

As you may know, one of the protesters (Eric Sheppard) is now a fugitive from justice for bringing a gun on to campus and leaving it in his unattended book bag during yesterday's continued protest.

His father is now pleading for his son to turn himself in.
