JJ - My money says that Mossad's already infiltrated most of the installations Iran's got churning out not-nuclear-weapons nuclear material. I'd say ground-based sabotage in conjunction with conventional airstrikes.

No Hollywood story today, but I do have a couple of stories that you might enjoy telling at your next party. So settle down, and let's begin. . .
A young lady dreamed one night that she was walking along a little country lane. Every detail of the dream was so vivid in her memory that she carried it around in her head for days. Then, three nights in a row, she had the same dream. And each time, she woke up just as she was about to speak to the old man.
Well, it happened that a few weeks later she was out driving in the country when, off to the side of the highway, she saw the country lane of her dreams! Shaking, she carefully drove along the the lane, and gasped when, at the end, she saw the little white house she had so often dreamed of. Slowly, she walked to the door and knocked. It opened to reveal the old man with the long white beard.
"Please tell me," the girl whispered, "is this house for sale?"
"It is, miss," replied the old man, "but I wouldn't buy it if I were you. You see, it's haunted."
"Haunted?" echoed the girl. "By whom?"
"By you," said the old man, softly closing the door.
Now here's a story that was a favorite of the composer Richard Rodgers:
It seemed that one night, an unfortunate fellow - we'll call him Mr. Jones - got lured into a poker game with a few sharp characters and ended up losing his entire bankroll.
Of course, as you can imagine, poor Mr. Jones was desperate. "What am I going to use for money until my paycheck on Friday?" he wailed. One of the sharpers pulled out his wallet and handed over a five-spot. "Your tears are destroying me," he snorted. "Take this money and scram."
Walking home, a despondent Jones was accosted by a lady of the night, shivering and in rags. Jones pushed her aside, and she burst into tears. "I'm starving," she cried. "If you don't help me, I swear I'll kill myself."
"Boy, this is really my night," Jones thought, but he handed over the Lincoln. The poor woman kissed him, tears still streaming down her cheeks. "I'll never forget you," she smiled. "You've restored some of my faith in humanity."
The next morning, Jones was glancing over the newspaper when he noticed a headline that read "Body of Unknown Woman Taken from River." The description of her dress and hat proved beyond a doubt that the suicide was the woman he had befriended.
Shaken, Jones stepped out of his office for a breath of fresh air, where he ran into the sharper who'd given him the money the night before. "Hey, what did you do after you left the game, Jones?" he asked.
"Nothing at all. I just walked home."
"Didn't you spend any money?"
"Not a cent," Jones replied. "Why?"
"Oh, no reason," the sharper laughed. "I just wondered what happened if you tried to palm off that phony five-dollar bill I gave you!"

Yes, Bennett Cerf was the country's leading raconteur for a generation. He's also the guy who got "Atlas Shrugged" published, and was as close as anybody got to being Ayn Rand's editor. Several years ago couple we know (she hard core, delusional liberal, he just a be quiet to get along type) called me out of the blue to go to dinner. I thought that was strange because they never do that and it was even a weekday, making it even stranger. No doubt the idea to comply with the hive behavior was the idea of the she-liberal. Also no doubt the idea to go out to dinner instead of sit in the dark was the idea of the she-liberal. Inviting us was probably the idea of the he-pseudo liberal) So the she-liberal had to show her dedication to the cause but couldn't live without modern conveniences for one hour1 LOL! Plus, any energy "savings" were squandered 100 times over by eating in a Chinese restaurant which use massive amounts of gas on specialty woks/stoves for cooking.

I recently read an informative article on the "only 12 cleaning items you really need" and Dawn was at the top of the list.
It's an amazing stain remover, especially for oily/greasy stains. In a pinch you can wash your entire laundry load with just Dawn. And wash yourself too.
Dawn is even an ingredient of my home made fruit-fly traps that work better than any store-bought traps.
A few big bottles of Dawn, preferably the anti-bacterial Dawn, should be in every prepper's stockpile.

Yeah, apparently we use 500 % more electricity than our neighbors or something like that. I can believe it, to a certain extent, because we gave one of the largest single-family houses on the block and an elderly lady who loves her TV and is always cold, so her portable heater is almost always in use. But the number they quote seems ridiculous. It's the New Hot: corporate shaming.

I have yet another prayer request, for my father in law. He fell yesterday morning and badly broke his right arm. With all of his other medical issues, they don't think he'd survive a surgery to repair it, so they're going to immobilize it and hope it heals on its own, but they aren't certain it will.

No, but I think a former neighbor was growing pot in their garage.
I keep the house at 71 during the day, and 67 overnight. New Gas furnace, new fridge, new small freezer in the basement, other then the kitchen light, only the rooms we are in have the lights on.

There are limits to what a 110 appliance can draw every month. One space heater running continuously 24/7 could (off top of head calculation) add another 300-500 kwh. Which *might* put them in the 150-200% usage range. I'd be very suspicious that someone has tapped into their circuit. Or something somewhere is running into the ground.

My house is right at 1700 sf and my peak usage is in the last week in June. I don't use 2500 KW in June and I have a 3 ton heat pump.
The best way to see actual usage is to open every breaker in the breaker box but one that feeds outlets in the kitchen. Make sure nothing else is running and turn on a toaster to make toast. Check the name plate data which should read somewhere around 1KW for a toaster. Your meter should run 1KW if that is what your toaster is. 1KW = 16.7 watts per min.

'Average' size house anymore is about 2,500. Which should require a baseline of about 500 kwh per month. Electric resistance heat (or air conditioning) would double or triple that number. So, if you're using more then 1,500 kwh per month somethings wrong.
Or you have teenagers.

Nicholas Sord, the driver, pleaded guilty last fall to drunken driving
and was sentenced to 56 months in prison. He had a blood alcohol content
of 0.236 at the time of the accident, about three times the legal
limit.
He would have been charged with felony DUI with a death in SC. he would be old and grey by the time he got out of jail. Felony DUI with a death can get you a $25K fine and 25 years in jail.
