Here's what the left is (I think only now) realizing:
The ideology of whoever they run doesn't matter. The media will cover for them, their voters are dumb, politics is (thanks to the media) now very "tribal" and the LIVs who swing elections don't know shit about anything. So I wouldn't be surprised if they run a loud and proud socialist / communist like de Blasio. At all. Because it would never be mentioned, and would not dissuade a single D vote. Time for the DA, some judges and even cops to face civil penalties as well as lengthy jail time. Act like fascist thugs, get treated like fascist thugs (at least until the US is completely a fascist thug state anyway.) But of course they won't because that isn't how the system treats its own. We live in a version of hell of our own making. Might as well just abandon the pretext that we don't and go full socialist so at least -everyone- knows what the game is. Here's what the left is (I think only now) realizing:
The ideology of whoever they run doesn't matter. I think they figured it out in 2012. But yeah, exactly what you said. Who the candidate is and what they believe, how able they are what their background is like etc, they are confident they can get a win out of because of media and popular culture control. And the machine is in place to get that fraud to give them the final bump. And I think they're right. Posted by: Christopher Taylor at April 20, 2015 01:26 PM (39g3+) 113

I think a lot of people overlooked Obama's hard left ideology because they liked the idea of America having a black President. I knew plenty of non-political, LIVs that made that point.
If you take that away, I think the electoral terrain is much rockier for a true blue progressive. Even though DeBlasio and Obama have the same ideology, DeBlasio would lose in a Dukakis-style fashion if he were the nominee. Posted by: McAdams at April 20, 2015 01:27 PM (D5chc) 119

Posted by: The Great White Snark at April 20, 2015 01:44 PM (XUKZU) Outside of City Hall and City Council chambers, sure. Posted by: Insomniac at April 20, 2015 01:45 PM (2Ojst) 193
but no, let's keep letting the RINOs shit all over this country b/c elections....
Posted by: prescient11 at April 20, 2015 01:31 PM (q5APL) I consider myself a Republican's Republican. I vote in the primaries. I vote straight ticket in national elections. I voted for McCain in 2008 and then four years later I voted for Romney, both Establishment favorites. No way I'm voting for Jeb Bush. No way. The big money men with the fat cigars buy the nomination for a pudgy cipher with no discernible leadership, politicalor rhetorical skills but whose last name is Bush (a name that doesn't exactly shout electability), a shlub who looks like the local manager of a small town hardware store, and I'm done with the GOP. Enough is enough. To paraphrase e.e. cummings, 'there is some shit I will not eat.' I used to be willing to vote for crap to avoid even worse crap, but that was when I believed we had even an infinitesimal chance of turning things around. We're past that point. Vote for whoever you want, I'm looking seriously at Vermin Supreme since SMOD won't be on the ballot. Who is president will matter only in how long it takes for things to collapse, not if.

#74 Hugo De Blasio has legally changed his name six times. That's either guilty of something or pathological, pick one.

Good news on my LIV fam: none of them like Hillary and plan to vote on her. And they will set themselves on fire before they vote for Jeb. So proud.
Bad news on my LIV fam: all of them have bought the MSM line on the conservative nominees that none of the candidates are electable. All of them said when I mentioned that I liked Ted Cruz, "Isn't he the crazy one?" And of course his being crazy ties back to the guvmint shutdown, because govmint shutdowns are bad, mmmmkay? *rolls eyes* They are not paying attention so I am going back in my archives and compiling good articles on the GOP candidates, like the one comparing Cruz to William Tell. Most have no clue who Walker is, so I have a chance to influence them before the media utterly poisons him. But they already think Rubio and Cruz are on crazy train. A few of my younger friends like Paul a lot, though whether or not he is actually on the crazy train, I can't confirm or deny as of yet, lol. In short: No one in LIV land in my neck of the woods seems thrilled to vote for either side. Maybe everyone stays home in 2016? Posted by: LizLem at April 20, 2015 01:50 PM (yRwC8) 206
188.
I think a 3 point election means the White House is a jump ball. Democrats had a MASSIVE voter advantage during the times when Republicans like Nixon and Reagan won 49 states. That advantage has actually dwindled considerably. The idea that a Republican can never win the White House again seems premature in my opinion. All the stops were pulled out for Obama, the MSM didn't even play the game of appearing unbiased, and I honestly believe the only reason he held on was the turnout operation going on in the background saved his bacon. It's cute that you think a member of the media would ask her this question at a debate.
The Republican MIGHT (but probably not because Republicans are totally okay with high-paying jobs [as they should be]), but even then, a moderator will step in with something about 'personal, private info not being relevant to the issue at hand.' Posted by: Washington Nearsider, Keeper of the Guards at April 20, 2015 01:35 PM I know it will never happen. A man can dream, can't he? Hugo De Blasio took one look out the window of City Hall, said "WTF was I
thinking?" and immediately began looking for another job. ----- He took a vacation before even starting the job. He is too busy preaching about income inequality to run the City. Posted by: Penfold at April 20, 2015 02:02 PM (Fbt5B) 209

There will be at least one progressive challenger to Hillary. I expect one to be backed by Obama & Co (at least covertly). DeBlasio has strong ties to the Inner Party, so this piece rings true. Note that DeBlasio may be the blackest white man in America. The reporter on this, Fred Dicker of the NY Post, is quite good, especially on NYS and NYC politics. Hillary is vulnerable to being pinched on one side by the Progressives and on the other by an Angry White Man (Webb / O'malley). Even more if there's a minority candidate in the mix.

Time to divide and move. We cannot coexist in the same nation - it is time to cut the irredeemable leftist counties out of our States and reform our two nations. One for the superleftists, free shit army reserves, and Social Justice Freakazoids, - under as they wish a socialist dictatorship in all but name with no rights but that given to them by their owners/masters in the government.
The other a liberty based constitutional representative republic with one addition - Socialism and all attendant philosophical organizations are banned. And after a suitable period to reorganize, no one from the Soviet Enclaves will be allowed in Free America. And the Soviet Enclaves will necessarily not be allowed their own arms or armed forces. We bore the burden of being targets and supporting our nation's nuclear forces - we keep them. All. No immigration allowed from the soviet areas that are loyal to FSA or that kind of "entitlement" mentality. Then let them select their emperorkingdictator and we can sit by and make the fences that keep them out. And laugh. Because fuck the left.
