ISIS On Verge of Capturing Strategically Critical City of Ramadi, After Launching Attack that Surprised Obama

Boy these JV guys are pretty good. In a couple of years, once they've had some seasoning, they could make the States.

Fierce fighting has engulfed Ramadi, which lies only about 70 miles (113 kilometers) west of Baghdad and is the capital of Anbar province, Iraq's Sunni heartland.

Essawi, the deputy head of the Anbar Provincial Council, told CNN from inside the city Wednesday that it's unclear how much longer government troops can hold their front lines against the ISIS offensive.

The politician said he was on a front line himself, armed with a machine gun. Security was "collapsing rapidly in the city," and he begged the Iraqi government for reinforcements and the U.S.-led coalition against ISIS for air support.

...

His plea for help comes the day after Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi met with U.S. President Barack Obama in Washington to seek more support for the fight against ISIS.

...

The extremist group's offensive in Ramadi shows its resilience despite months of U.S.-led airstrikes and its recent defeat by Iraqi forces in the northern city of Tikrit.

The "No Drama Obama" policy of denigrating threats and blowing off major events continues infecting the rest of the government -- probably because Obama has filled the high ranks of government with ideological zealots and incompetents like himself.

The US military talks up this siege as if it's a minor skirmish with, yes, the JV.

A key Iraqi city is being threatened by the terror group. But reports that Ramadi is about to fall? Overblown, defense officials say.
Pentagon officials stopped short of confirming reports that a key Iraqi city is close to falling to the self-proclaimed Islamic State.

If the city of Ramadi was truly in danger on being overrun by ISIS, it would be a devastating setback to those hoping that the terror group has been thrown back on its heels.

But some Pentagon officials were skeptical.

"As of yesterday, Ramadi was not about to fall," a defense official explained to The Daily Beast.

What her brother seems of track on (is not about prayer and joy) is that he assumes the good will win is the same meaning as that America will get back on its feet which is may not, but then God isn't an American or of any other nationality.

There's also an algorithm - the name of which I forget - for determining whether or not a number is valid. Some guy at IBM, IIRC.

311 I got one of those "extra-sophisticated" cc's with a chip, even though I didn't want it. I don't circulate in public that often, but I keep that card in an aluminum note pad case. I've heard that aluminum prevents remote reads from people nearby. WTF do I know, the world is more dangerous than ever.

313 "So no card is safe? I have a chip on the card."

depends on the effort someone wants to put into it. Usually you are in more danger from a friend or family member than a pro. They are looking for the big score.

Now if you have the right equipment you can score big by scoring a lot of littles.

In effect, no card is really 100% safe.

I thought it interesting that they only charged a dollar on the card and it was declined. Something tells me this gas station must be a testing place and is on the watch list.

I had fraud alert contact me when I charged twice at a Wal Mart in a rough area. Once at pharmacy and once at main check out.

They called me immediately.

First: it's PERL, not pearl (Practical Extraction Reporting Language)
Second: There are several PHP scripts available (as well as Python) that do that.

Not in places I don't know, but the help does rotate a bit so I guess you only need one bad apple. The thing about this metal card? No numbers on the front of the card. They are lasered on the back. I would think that would make even harder to clone, unless they had a card reader.

Electrical Engineering degree, and you worked as a "Billing Specialist". Ho Ho Ho indeed. Guess the calculus of who was squared away and who wasn't was slightly off, eh?

Anybody thinking the above is unpleasant is absolutely right, but then, I paid my price. I find I don't have enough "charity" of spirit at the moment, so I'll just indulge the inner jerk for a while. Revenge, very cold, you know the spiel. Nobility is for tomorrow, and will be resumed tomorrow, but today, the day I finally pay off debt and finally work towards the future---today we gloat. He's dead, I'm alive. I graduated. She didn't. Victory.
