Top Democrat, Republican on Foreign Relations Committee Strike Deal to Ensure Congressional Role in Iran Deal;
May Attract Veto-Proof Majorities

From Hot Air's headlines, this is big.

Obama has previously threatened to veto a bill that looks like this.

But it looks like there could very well be a supermajority to override his veto -- and when was the last time you remember such a thing happening?

The bill aims to thwart Obama if he attempts to impose his crooked deal with Iran on his own authority, suspending sanctions and the like. The bill would keep sanctions in place until Congress disposes of them.

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker said Tuesday that negotiators had reached a bipartisan agreement on legislation allowing Congress to review a final nuclear deal with Iran.

"What I'm most proud of is we've kept the pure integrity of the process in place and the President cannot lift, while Congress is reviewing this, cannot lift the congressionally mandated sanctions, which is what they've been trying to do and push for over the past couple of weeks," Corker told reporters as he headed into a classified briefing on the emerging Iran agreement with Secretary of State john Kerry and other top administration officials."While Corker said that "no one should ever count their chickens before they hosta," he expressed optimism that when the bill comes up for a vote in the committee later Tuesday it would pass, as expected.

...

The bill also requires the President to make a series of detailed reports to Congress on a range of issues, including Iran's nuclear program, its ballistic missiles work, and its support for terrorism globally, particularly against the U.S. and its allies.

2 So they're going to pass a law forcing Obama to follow the Constitution?

How does that work?

If he's already ignoring the law, how does passing an additional law change anything?

He already said, "hey, senate, fuck you and your stupid constitution and laws". He's got a pen and a phone, remember?

5 As I read it, it's a bullshit compromise and only for show not for go. They pass this piece of shit bill and then don't act on the real "treaty" when they get it and it still goes into force. So all this is a fig leaf for the Dems in the next election. Ace don't be fooled by this. And I'd bet everything I have the White House is in on this and only making like they are mad for show.

They have other ships, but those were two big blue water ships as I understand it.

As for Putin? Eh... how does it help him to sell the Iranians nuclear material? The US would figure out where it came from sooner or later. Why not just let the Iranians do it themselves?

Also, I doubt Putin is wild about the idea of a middle east nuclear arms race, especially considering that Iran is in their neighborhood, and that Russian infidels are closer and easier to kill than American infidels.

But the bill would prohibit him for 60 days from suspending, waiving or otherwise easing any sanctions that Congress levied on Iran. During that 60-day period, Congress could hold hearings and approve, disapprove or take no action on any final nuclear agreement with Iran.

If Congress passed a joint resolution approving a final deal -- or took no action -- Obama could move ahead to ease sanctions levied by Congress

I agree with some posters here - the fix is probably in, and the tough dems will go all wobbly at the last minute. My response is: So?

Seriously, so what? The alternative is Obama shoves this POS down our throats anyway. The alternative is Republican opposition gets painted as, racists, islamophobic, or some other idiocy. With at least some dem token opposition, then there is a chance this crap deal gets scuttled, if not by us, then BY the IRANIANS. Look, Obama is an incompetent, but makes up for it by being a lazy idiot as well. the more you make him work for this, the more chance he has of slipping on a banana peel, or losing interest. The more he explains the deal to congress, the more the Iranians are going to say "hey, that's is not what we agreed to." We win every timethe idiot in chief has to explain himself.

This is exactly like Syria and his red line bullshit. When asked to explain what he wanted and why he wanted it, he mumbled some shit about congress not being patriotic, and promptly gave up.

173 ZOG and Iran

The king of ZOG, he called for war
And the king of Iran, he answered.
They fashioned their weapons one upon one
Ton upon ton, they called for war at the rise of the sun.

Out went the call to one and to all
That echoed and rolled like the thunder.
Trumpets and drums, roar upon roar
More upon more.
Rolling the call of "Come now to war."

Throughout the night they fashioned their might
With right on the side of the mighty.
They puzzled their minds plan upon plan
Man upon man
And at dying of dawn the great war began.

They met on the battlefield banner in hand.
They looked out across the vacant land.
And they counted the missing, one upon one,
None upon none.
The war it was over before it begun.

Two little kings playing a game.
They gave a war and nobody came.
And nobody came.
And nobody came.
And nobody came.
And nobody came.

Russia and China are also starting to trade oil, military equipment and manufactured goods in their own currencies.

191 I think we are seeing the first time these a-holes are actually afraid:

The Iranians make a nuke. They give it to some of their minions. They walk or drive it into an American city (most likely DC or New York). They detonate it. They say they have 5 more, here is a list of our demands. The cities empty. Everyone is out in the countryside starving and playing Road Warrior. They know they are the Iranians first target.

Facts not in question:

ii - Iran wants her proxies armed with S-300s
D - Russia is not going to take being screwed with lightly
trois - Israel can not fight Russia and Iran

Therefore

Rule 2: No pics or vid.

Rule 2 is there for a very good reason. Apparently there was an issue years ago with infiltrators and pics taken and outing to bosses, etc.
