Memories Pizza Place May Never Re-Open, Due to Death Threats

There will be no reportage on this. Death threats are only publicized to the extent they can portray the left as sympathetic victims.

When the left threatens to murder political opponents, the media covers it up.

The Federalist's @seandavis linked this great 2007 article by @baseball crank on The Seven Steps of "Liberal Activism."

Here is how the Overton Window is moved, one (big but not huge) step at at a time, until the point which is always the end-game: criminalizing dissent.

1. It's a free country, X should not be illegal.

2. The Constitution prohibits X from being made illegal.

3. If the Constitution protects a right to X, how can it be immoral? Anyone who disagrees is a bigot.

4. If X is a Constitutional right, how can we deny it to the poor? Taxpayer money must be given to people to get X.

5. The Constitution requires that taxpayer money be given to people to get X.

6. People who refuse to participate in X are criminals.

7. People who publicly disagree with X are criminals.

Step 8 has been reached by a few over-achieving cultures, such as nationalist, communist Russia or nationalist, communist China or nationalist, socialist Germany.

Everyone knows what Step 8 is.

7 No conservative should ever talk to any reporter, ever, for any reason.

People ranked on the college student guy who snarked on Reason to use the N-word in a headline as the price for interviewing him. I think he had the right idea. Actually, the best idea would have been to hang up the phone, but second best is to snark on them.

Don't trust ANY reporter. Even purportedly sympathetic ones.

8 Ah, who am I kidding. The GayStapo won't attack in a frontal assault. They are the pussies they disavow wanting so fervently.

It only takes one.

I put extra blame on Buzzfeed and Mother Jones for this. The owners said specifically they happily serve gay customers but would probably have to decline when it came to an (insanely hypothetical) gay wedding.

And, of course, the headlines at BF and MJ just said "anti-LGBT".

Perhaps this is a poor analogy, but:

There comes a moment, at the very beginning of an engagement, when the panic dies, the stress fades away and all there is is the moment. It's a brilliant clarity. Things slow down. Your brain speeds. up. It's the calm before the storm.

We're in that calm now.

101 If you do talk to the press, have your own recorder and camera rolling the entire time that you do. Including during introductory pleasantries. And be aware that their equipment may be on even when it's ostensibly off.

The late Mike Wallace made a habit of showing up for what he claimed would be just "friendly, routine" interviews, prepared to blindside his interview subjects.

The few of those people who had their own recording devices and camera team ready when Wallace showed up then received, without exception, a violent tirade before Wallace stormed away and did not return.

They love playing the game just so long as the playing field is tilted _exactly _ to their specs and just so long as the refs remain safely on the take.

During the election of '08, I felt my liberal friends would change their tunes about Choom Boy as truth about his incompetence, inexperience, America-hating beliefs and predilection for hanging out with our enemies was made public. They didn't change. In fact, their opinions hardened as they saw what they perceived as "attacks" on the man who became President Historic First©.

Surely, I thought, the insane adulation and blind acceptance would would be worn out by four years of the Mocha Messiah. Nuh-uh. They went down on their knees to him again.

Having seen that their tactics work, the leftists, race-whiners and LBGT crowd (but I repeat myself) realized that they don't HAVE to stop. They more they p*ss and moan, the more bennies they get.

They won't change their ways until a functional, law-abiding administration and Congress take over. Even then, I fear that draconian measures will be called for to bring about a return to common sense and the ideals we were brought up to revere.

Not sure it will happen in our lifetimes.

154 What I heard is the Memories Pizza business is failing because their crappy pizza can't compete with a nearby chain, they never really knew how to run a business in the first place but now it's worse because they got no idea on how to run a business in the face of competition, the owners got no savings and no investors and got hopelessly behind on bank loan payments, and their house's being foreclosed.

Truth is, this was a goofball PR stunt, seeking out free advertising by claiming to refuse to deliver pizzas to gay weddings. Anyone who's ever been to Walkerton IN knows what a backwoods sibling-marrying dump of a town that is and that there's never ever even one gay wedding there ever. And no wedding I ever been to, which AFAIK were all non-gay, ever served pizza not even once, except one time at a day-after reception but just for the little kids. Besides, it's a wedding not an anniversary: homo can't 'have' kids except by adopting, or turkey baster, or by parthenogenesis but only if every male member's member drops off or gets lopped off and the species hasn't got any sperm-producing males left.

So, the idea of the organizers for a gay marriage - in puking Walkerton - ordering delivery of a bunch of pizzas for the day-after reception is about as likely a thing that could happen as Ben Carlson or Rick Santorum turning gay or Santorum being elected, to anything, ever again.

Hell, I don't actually have any strong opinions on it as a religious matter either (I'm sure Bannion will be here to execute me shortly.)
Frankly it ranks in the bottom 10 of "issues I care much about either politically or personally."

Having said that: I'm starting to feel obligated to defend the notion of "traditional marriage as a state entity" mostly because I'm starting to feel like something more than my ambivalence is under attack and this is just phase I.

This stuns me as it were.

In part because I was told I was being a jackass because I expressed that I would prefer my friend's girlfriend not bring her service dog into the hospital room where my newborn was, while she was less than 24 hour old.

(She wasn't coming alone, I assumed my friend would help.)

I ended up just relenting and my kid now has more dog exposure in 3 months than I had for the first 3 years of my life.

And dare I say my concerns were actually medical

The ABC affiliate that conducted this interview was from Elkhart. Jess Dooley, the Dike that called for the burning down of the Pizza place, had been the replacement coach for the last gay teacher that molested one of her female students at Concord High School in Elkhart.

Jess Dooley was suspended today. I guess they are gonna have to find another gay coach.

190 Simple. You wait 'em out.

Let's be blunt. Demographics aren't on their side.

Sure, they're having weddings. No kids. Not unless they convince a lesbian buddy to incubate a designer kid. Drug abuse and promiscuity are rampant in that "community", and they don't usually live to a ripe old age. They know it, too.

They're non-binary genderquestioning "allies" aren't much better in the reproductive department. They're kinda busy keeping Planned Parenthood's profit margins healthy. Gotta be fetusfrei, ya know, in order to be ready to march for your right to poop in a public park!!

Meanwhile, back at the Chik-fil-A and the Hobby Lobby, the minivans belching fumes are full of screaming kids who are already primed to start thinking of their future wedding days.....to the opposite sex.....and figure it out from there, kids.

Now, 'scuse me while I go enjoy some chicken nuggets and some crafty shit with my brood.

I think my wife's friends still roll their eyes over it.

215 23 - [Menendez]

Have you read the indictment? At this point, Menendez wouldn't qualify as toast in the Donner Party. A Dem administration is never going to try to take down a fellow party member Congress critter unless the case for the prosecution is both beyond a mortal lock and politically convenient. The convenient part is obvious, given Menendez's positions on Israel, Iran and Cuba are 100% opposed to Obama. It's the other problem preventing him from changing parties: Menendez would be more than willing to change parties and rest his chances for re-election on his name recognition and the billions in favors he's done for his constituents. The problem is that Indictment, not just the fact that it exists but what's in it and how easy it is to prove. And New Jersey jury pool types are exactly thrilled with their crooked pols in first place, but right now is worse than ever.

Let's recall here that the infamous interview in which Todd Akin blew up his Senatorial hopes, and did collateral damage to dozens of other GOP candidates all the way up to the top of the presidential ticket, was an interview which Akin had _actively sought out_. He called them to schedule it.

Despite his previously having a double-digit lead in the polls, a circumstance in which any competent campaign manager will fight to keep the candidate quiet and out of view.

Well self proclaimed "conservatives" (of which John Boehner is one, lets not forget) make up 40% of the population. Self describe liberals (of which Obama is not one. He's a moderate, remember?) make up 20%.

So, in essence, those numbers really don't mean much.

But on face value, yes "conservatives" do out number "liberals" 2:1, if you define conservative as boehner and liberals as people who think obama is way too center for them.

353 Well self proclaimed "conservatives" (of which John Boehner is one, lets not forget) make up 40% of the population.

Chill teh fuck out. I said 60% as a guess. It could be 40. Whatever. The point is it's not 0%. But listening to SoCons, you'd think every single person who bas born a Christian, opposes SSM and abortion.

And it's more than 2 states. It's 4. These states all voted either for SSM or voted against an explicit ban on SSM

Washington
Maine
Maryland
Minnesota

And these 4 were the last 4 to have votes. Which shows that the tide has shifted in public opinion from 6-10 years ago when states were voting 100% against SSM.

Add to that list states where the legislature passed SSM and it's another 6 or so states including IL, PA, NY, RI, VT and a few others.

No I meant it in the sense of there is no government agency in charge of issuing licenses to all businesses in a state.

I understand you need permits and other things, but those are supposed to be for specific reasons -- liquor license, health permits for safety, building permits for safety, etc.

So what license is it that the left is trying to yank from places that wont, say, photograph gay weddings?

Posted by: mynewhandle at April 01, 2015 07:04 PM (AkOaV)

Some municipalities and I understand some states require business licenses.
Others just require that if you wish to register an LLC or other type of corporation including a DBA you do have to register with the secretary of state or other type of agency. That is generally to provide seperation between your personal and business liabilities, and to provide an address to be served at for legal reasons.
There are other issues like inspections and such but are not actually business licenses

apparently for IN

"Businesses operating in Indiana do not
need to apply for a state
business license,
but they do need to register with the
state. All
corporations, limited partner-
ships, limited liability partnerships, and

limited liability companies must file organi-
zational documents with the
Corporations
Division of the Secretary of State."

Clearly idiotspeedracer is an idiot who can not be bothered to google "indiana + business + license" and as such should be requested to apply again when it grows a brain or moves out of its mothers basement.

_________

It's "only" 4 but it's the last 4 to have voted. That's the key.
And the 6/7 states that passed it legislatively are also the last ones to do it. By that I mean there haven't been any states to pass anti-SSM laws in the time these 6/7 have passed their pro-SSM laws.

So of the last 11 states to do anything about SSM, either via legislation or via direct vote, 100% of states have voted in favor of SSM.

And yet all I hear from SoCons is how SSM never gets voted on. You are creating an alternate reality.

And yes I would have preferred the process run its course at the voting booth and/or in the legislature instead of having courts dictate whether or not SSM should be legal. I've stated this numerous times here.

How about this - most times in the past when it was put to a vote - it lost. In the past two presidential elections, the winner never explicitly endorsed it (though came close in 2012) and flat out rejected it in 2008 (the engaged knew he was lying).

Abortion was at one time supported by the majority. It is not anymore. The pro-life side is making progress on that side. And to the extent it is moving it is moving in the pro-life direction.

So you are the one who is wrong with your assumption that social issues are only ever moving in one direction.

I don't know what the ultimate outcome of SSM will be. There are similarities to abortion - but huge differences as well.

515 In the past two presidential elections, the winner never explicitly endorsed it (though came close in 2012) and flat out rejected it in 2008 (the engaged knew he was lying).
_____________

Anyone who voted for Obama and thought he didn't support SSM in 2012 is not only too stupid to vote, but too stupid to live.

The trend in the past 3 elections (2014, 2012, 2010) has been in favor of SSM. 2008 was the last time anti-SSM won and that was in California.

I think if a vote were held again today in CA SSM would win 55/45, maybe even higher. I think a lot of anti-gay people simply refuse to believe that public sentiment has shifted so quickly. And yeah it is kind of unprecedented that on an issue as big as this, the country has done a 180 in less than a decade. But again, pretending it isn't happening doesn't make it less real.

516 Business Insider has an article listing the "15 smartest presidents". According to the article, the list was assembled using IQ scores, and some sort of formula based on artistic achievements or something like that for the ones that pre-date the IQ test.

Jimmah Carter is number 6.
Bill Clinton is number 4.
JFK is number 3.

Conspicuously absent are any Republicans after TR.

Soothsayer: Iran doesn't have these problems, which is nice.

I know this is meant ironically.

But we do have to worry that the SJW activists' zeal is, in fact, driving converts to schools of thought that support the overt punishment of homosexuals (and of other "protected classes"). Ultimately an America that punishes those of faith cannot keep the loyalty of those of faith.

The big winner is ISIS.

Imagine a moderate Muslim - that is, a Muslim who kinda likes America, kinda dislikes Jews, kinda reads a bit about Islam but really isn't committed to any of this just yet. (Probably 70% of the total here.) He (or she) looks around at America actively punishing citizens on homosexuals' behalf.

This "jack Muslim" isn't going to conclude that America is tolerant. He has already heard fellow Muslims refer to us as "the People of 'Ad". He is now going to think of "the People of Lot" as well.

One is a conservative (pastor's kid), one is dumb as a box of rocks but pretty, one is a diva who's entire being is derived from his gayness and the last one is my boss who thinks Rachel Maddow and Jon Stewart pwns the party of stupid.

Of the four, my boss is the most derisive of Christians and Walmart shoppers. A recent retort of his consists of "Pfft. They should have prayed more."

The conservative fears ROP adherents and what the new Sharia tribunal in Irving portents than he does Christians. My boss doesn't fear ROP as he believes they are a non-player and that so cons are who need to be side-lined. He and his circle absolutely hate Ted Cruz and are dismissive of Greg Abbott. So.. anecdotal of my small group of gay friends.
