9 Iran shipping it's enriched Uranium to Russia is not a key element in the deal. It is THE KEY element in the deal. The whole point of letting them continue to enrich Uranium for medical and "Research" purposes and letting them keep 6000 centrifuges, is because the enriched Uranium would NOT be stored in Iran and thus available for use in the making of Nuclear Weapons. If you "allow" Iran to "store" the enriched Uranium, you have not kinda surrendered, you have TOTALLY surrendered and insured both a Nuclear Middle East arms race and a certain Israeli Military response and possibly a nuclear one. If Fredo were to agree to this, he should be removed from Office IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE ( not including harming him or his family)

13 The campus left will never implode.

It will simply consume those not considered 'properly leftist' and keep on keeping on.

Certain groups may find themselves losing Most Favored Nation victim status, but on the whole, the campus left will emerge more left, bigger and louder.

Eventually it will become violent.

I suspect it will collapse like that collapsed, a dying fad that leaves ripples travelling for a long time.

Academia will remain leftist and radical, but the pendulum swing of society will discredit the self-consuming lunacy of SJW deconstructionism.

Of course, we'll be dealing with aging SJWs for the next 45 years...

From the Americas Death Is Greatly Exaggerated link:

"...Are there severe problems with our liberal democracy? Yes. Is it lost or irrevocable? No. While the system has been strained, it is still a vibrant and functioning liberal democracy where power peaceably transitions every four to eight years. While there is clear evidence of decline in key areas, what was once created can be recreated or refashioned in light of new challenges and new times. ..."

This is still my belief. It ain't burnt yet.

And they were never in Iraq (actually, they are now, but that did not happen until long after the war was over). A Halliburton subsidiary, Kellogg/Brown&Root, which Halliburton spun off back in 2005 (that is, they got rid of that company), was.

40 Williamson's take on goose crap is suitably smart assed, but he swings wildly for the fences with the border collie angle. Obviously any self-respecting troupe of borderers would have those geese crapping in unison and on demand in no time. The Washington establishment would never countenance such a threat to their power. I vote we all support DC Goose Dropping Alternative Power Sources.

Never, never joke about Guano Wars and the Guano Act. Guano completely revolutionized agriculture and munitions. Given the tech of the times, it was clearly worth fighting over. My favorite take is the Navassa Island affair, in which federal contractors kinda, sorta surreptitiously enforced slave-labor on US citizens after the Unpleasantness. It almost certainly is the model for Crab Key in Dr No, and Fleming would have heard the sordid details in childhood, since Flemings Bank was fresh out of Jay Gould railroads at the time and casting about crazily, and by means of confidential agents, for hot new investments in the hemisphere. It's only about 100 miles from Goldeneye.

The more you hear about Navassa, the more you're tempted to snug up the old tinfoil and go Big Conspiracy. It is probably the most securely held piece of US real estate anywhere -- proven by repeated attempts by State, Interior, Northern and Southern commands to give it away. There has to be something going on there. Meanwhile Haiti awaits Justice.

88 We joined Angie's List when we moved (quite a few years ago). I don't know if they were manipulating reviews, but I did observe that their review system led to "grade inflation." If you scored a vendor below a B in any category, Angie's List would contact you and seemingly want you to reconsider.

More annoyingly, we we decided to drop our subscription, we discovered they'd auto-billed our credit card account. I tried to get a refund, without success. Frankly, I think the only reason they didn't auto-renew us the following year was that we'd closed that credit card account. They remind me of newspapers who make it nigh on impossible to cancel your subscription.

Kind of ironic that the place for assessing businesses' practices had shady business practices.

Here on the other side we have Indiana domesticating a federal standard first signed into federal law by Bill Clinton, and getting massive coverage.

If there are going to be recriminations for the criminality of the Obama years that result in actual penalties, I'd nominate the press as target "A". Unlike most of you I believe we should turn the IRS cannons on each and every one of those assholes. The SEC shouldn't approve a single bond issue for one of them. OSHA should become very concerned about carpel tunnel syndrome at the NYT. Well, college students HAVE to have a cause. It doesn't matter how stupid it is. It's their "Kent State moment"; so they can say, "I was THERE, man!"

Radical ideologies (especially fatally flawed ones such as progressivism) quite frequently "burn the heretic."

The Campus Left is not "imploding," it is hardening -calcifying.

Note that two of the three articles mentioned had to be published anonymously- because the authors new they'd be branded "heretic" and heckled out of the 'in-group.'

And I do not believe that the Campus Left will ever implode- or burn itself out. It is too entrenched. It is too powerful on its home turf. No- more and more "heretics" will move away and withdraw, and the Radical Progressives will gain more and more relative power- as those who *could* fight them- don't.

200 The article at The Federalist is anti-AosHQ!

It says we aren't doomed necessarily!

No! No! No! We must have the burning times! There has to be doom and burning times and the destruction of everything because we have said that the slightest failure in any of our politicians means that it is all over.

Hope? Did our forefathers have hope? They weren't such fools! They knew that the slightest setback meant the end of everything and they just went and....

ummmm....

Cancel the rant.

201 Love the headlines today. Got a kick from reading the left eating itself. The anonymous lefty professor who snarkly mentions how he can deal with Republican kids, but then goes all coward because of liberal kids. Never occurs to him that perhaps his worldview is the one that needs questioning.

But the Iranian one, man that's quite a show of cognitive dissonance in the comments over there. Obama pulling out all the stops for Iran and they still stick it to him (and those comments show they recognize this). And now? They might still mock the Republicans for their letter, but guess who knew how to deal with Iran? And who's the ass that got its tail pinned on by the Iranians?
