1 Good Morning Morons. Today is Palm Sunday, March 29, 2015. Now here is a little known tidbit from history. On this day in 1638 Swedish colonists established the first European settlement in what is now Delaware, naming it New Sweden. It was later taken over by the Dutch and then by England. (The first European settlement in the United States was St Augustine in FL in 1565)

I guess the Choom can't give away the store fast enough because Germany and France have joined the talks. It is pathetic when you have to depend on them.

3 Senate Republicans are renewing efforts to learn why Huma Abedin, a top assistant to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, was allowed to keep working at the agency under a special, part-time status while also being employed at a politically-connected consulting firm.

Why? Because Scankles, and Democrats in general, believe they are exempt from laws, rules, and regulations. Remember that one about "avoiding the appearance of impropriety"? In my old company when this originally surfaced Huma would have been fired. This probe started in 2013, and as usual, the Executive branch has been dragging its heals. If the Party of stupid was serious they would issue a subpoena with the request right off the bat. But nothing will come of this, as it is all hot air when everything is "off the table".

8 A black muzzie terrorist from NY has been found in FL trying to raise money to support terrorists. Don't he know that only Obama can do that? Oh, they popped him on gun charges. I suspect he has a felony conviction. Why is it that you never hear Holder or any other black activist, screaming about disparate impact on the gun laws? Why, because they are little more than a subchapter of the Democrat Party and gun control is one of their main illegal efforts.

10 Another big foreign policy win for Obama and horsehead.

BEIRUT - Islamic fighters led by Al Qaeda's branch in Syria seized almost full control of the northwestern city of Idlib on Saturday, taking over major roundabouts and government buildings in a powerful blow to President Bashar Assad whose forces rapidly collapsed after four days of heavy fighting, opposition activists and the extremist group said.

So now they are "Islamic Fighters". What other euphemisms can AP come up with for avoiding the term "terrorists"?

16 I posted a link and comments yesterday regarding the new Religious Freedom law in Indiana. I thought is was a weak law and would do nothing but provide political cover. Now it appears that Pense, who took a huge beating in the political thread yesterday, wants to weaken it even more because Gaystapo.

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence said he would support legislation to clarify the intent of the new law that has drawn widespread scrutiny over concerns it could allow discrimination against gay people.

41 Americans hate mass transit and like driving. So why is the government squandering 20% of the highway fund budget on mass transit? Two reasons both having Demoncraps at the core of it. (1) Blowing the green movement commies and (2) Blowing the Unions who build these massive tax boondoggles. It is not clear why the unions don't support massive highway boondoggles other than the fact that their money ends when the road is complete whereas with trains it continues. (Note this 20% allocation was passed into law when the Democraps controlled all three branches of government).

55 There really was no deep significance to be attached to this superficial and spontaneous outburst of popular enthusiasm. This welcome, although it was joyous and sincere, did not betoken any real or deep-seated conviction in the hearts of this festive multitude. These same crowds were equally as willing quickly to reject Jesus later on this week when the Sanhedrin once took a firm and decided stand against him, and when they became disillusioned -- when they realized that Jesus was not going to establish the kingdom in accordance with their long-cherished expectations.

But the whole city was mightily stirred up, insomuch that everyone asked, "Who is this man?" And the multitude answered, "This is the prophet of Galilee, Jesus of Nazareth."

57 When they had come near Jerusalem and reached Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, "Go into the village ahead of you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, just say this, 'the LORD needs them.' And he will send them immediately." This took place to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet, saying,

"Tell the daughter of Zion,
Look, your king is coming to you,
humble, and mounted on a donkey,
and on a colt, the foal of a donkey."

The disciples went and did as Jesus directed them; they brought the donkey and the colt, and put their cloaks on them, and He sat on them. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and that followed were shouting,

"Hosanna to the Son of David!
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the LORD!
Hosanna in the highest heaven!"

When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was in turmoil, asking, "Who is this?" The crowds were saying, "This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee."

There was a long discussion on that in an Ace column on the subject last week. I finally got the impression that the instructor was lying but the student had his problems too. IOW they were both wrong.

Why should the EU MSM be any different than the US? I think there is probably only one or a few companies that actually do investigative reporting. The rest just parrot whatever the party line is as written or do some minor manipulation and then disseminate it.

I have been logging the daily high and low temps since 1998. I have lost some data on occasion due to computer malfunctions and a sloppy back-up habit but I can prove that AGW is a lie. In order to have man-made global warming first you have to have warming. We have cooling.

103 Oh, Jesus Christ Superstar, huh? #45

I remember just where I was, exercising my 2-S draft dodge deferment, in the frat house hallway, almost to my room, when I hear the radio, from a bro's room behind me, blaring the chorus, "Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ, Who are you, what have you sacrificed?" This was before my "rebirth" from reading the Gospels, but I credit it with being one of many factors ultimately pushing me that way.

The JCS* single was released to test the waters for the whole opera (just as the Who had released Pinball Wizard before Tommy). I didn't realize this until...

I was working at the mighty WBCR-FM, 5 watts (on a clear day with a North wind you could catch us in Rockford) when the station manager, my frat dad, brought me the promo copy of JCS*. In later years, after our frat was no longer running the station, kids ripped off all the best of their decades-old, magnificent collection of LPs of all genre, and in retrospect, I kinda wish I'd absconded with that promo box, with all its bg info on the artists & all.

(Some former students had gone on to work in the music industry, so we got advance copies of stuff all the time. I also premiered Joni Mitchell's Blue album in the midwest.)

I liked Deep Purple, and thought casting their lead singer as Jesus was fantastic; what a voice! Regardless of the religious shallowness of the opera, it had its moments, and 'the rocks and stones themselves would start to sing' was one of them.

I've always wondered if Jesus was speaking literally or was merely amusing himself taunting his critics with hyperbole when he said the stones themselves would cry out, but it certainly spoke to the incredible, powerful enthusiasm of the moment. Still does, two millennia later.

FenelonSpeaks, thanks for "Ride on in Majesty." We aren't churched, so this helped me feel like I was there again. With choirs singing beautifully and enthusiastically... but I can't make out what they're saying. (Glad that vid had lyrics.)

Hey, sun's almost up here in the middle of America.

Of course "top" excludes the other gears which are all equally important and yet unique in their own way. We need to celebrate all the gears, equally and fairly whilst not making other transmission systems feel excluded. But then what about the drive shaft? Can we still say shaft and why isn't there a drive fadge? Ok, here's the format, we'll have Dianne Abbot testing the new Eco-friendly, vegan peace Prius which is fuelled solely on self righteous smugness, whilst Tony Blair is the star in a reasonably priced car crash featuring a golf cart and a dry stone wall.

108 I am not a lawyer or bioethicist nor do I play one on the interwebs, but I am an armchair philosopher.

It has always seemed to me that, even if we presuppose that a woman has the right to abort, even right up until the head crowns as one rabbi ruled, that unborn child is still a protected citizen in every other way. If a woman was attacked and caused to miscarry, even on her way into an abortion clinic, it should still be murder. It isn't the other person's choice.

That this grisly murder in CO isn't called murder is certainly a travesty. Just as was not counting the youngest, unborn victim of the a$$hole at Ft Hood.

The Mouse family has been farming (on and off) the same land for decades, and we've very good records back thru WWII.
This last half decade holds every record for snowfall (beating out the late 70s), lowest "high" temps, number of all time low temps, and longest periods of low temps - the other day we finally saw 70 - the first time since before Halloween. Think about that. This is the "South" - not New England or the Midwest, and nearly half a year between 70 degree temps.

(I was driving around yesterday in an areas of Atlanta I haven't been in about 8 years, when it was a very nice suburb. Now it look like a Mexican barrio.) Yet, so many are still asleep and accept the Dem/liberal/MSM lies BS about compassion, welcoming them into our community, the wonderful diversity etc... Once Obama gets his amnesty approved and rolling again people will no longer be able to stick their heads in the sand any longer. Of course, it will be too late and 70% of this country is going to be wondering WTF happened. Good times coming.

155 Now it look like a Mexican barrio"

Nah. The barrios I've been thru are a bit more colorful than say, Old Centerville road near Manassas. Of course, most of those folks are from Central America, not Mexico...

I'm beginning to think that no Republican can win in 2016. The fix is in.

Prediction: Once enough illegals have drivers licenses, Democrat opposition to Voter ID laws will magically melt away.

157 Vic,
My older brother is thinking about NM again, despite all bad things I've told or forwarded to him.
Last Sunday I called his ex to find out where the friend with home who loves it there.
She had him call me. He hasn't been in NM for 3 years. Home is in Gallup. He said its 1/3 white, 1/3 Mexicans & 1/3 American Indians.
When I asked about crime, he said its only Indian drunks that aren't allowed to drink on Reservations.
Wiki website has that in 2013 it had highest crime rate in the stare!

I've been looking at City & Wiki pages for 2 months & Gallup is only city that had crime rate & it's very serious issue there

i40 runs through it & it has winters.

That's perfectly OK with me. Let the games continue!

159 Mr. Scribbler,

I didn't bother to put link in.
We could have a real Justice Dept that might investigate him, but I know it's highly unlikely.

Reid is afraid of something.

160 130 Did Harrison Ford recover from plane crash?
I haven't heard anything about it since crash but I haven't looked.

It only happened 3 weeks ago. Besides the huge head lacerations he had another broken ankle and fractured pelvis. He's soon to be 73. Its going to take him time to heal. Plus, being bedridden due to his injuries adds more health complications.

165 Vic,
See 157.

I've researched NM & all TC suggestions. Brother is going to have to stop saying he's thinking & stop playing solitaire on his computer & do something.

Posted by: Carol at March 29, 2015 09:39 AM (sj3Ax)

166 OK Carol I somehow went to the wrong comment. And no, I don't think you want to live there.

My wife says if you want a big city the Dallas-Ft Worth are is probably bet. If you want smaller towns the hill country is best because it is beutiful. I asked about housing costs and she said has no idea because it has been too long since she lived there.

She is from TX originally.

I have been logging the daily high and low temps since 1998. I have lost some data on occasion due to computer malfunctions and a sloppy back-up habit but I can prove that AGW is a lie. In order to have man-made global warming first you have to have warming. We have cooling.

Posted by: Vic We Have No Party at March 29, 2015 07:32 AM (wlDny)

Good morning. We require all copies of your temperature data dating back to 1998. Your data will be returned following sufficient revision. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
