Romney Shows Brian-Williams-Level Comedy Chops on Jimmy Fallon

Well, a lot better than Brian Williams.

I know this is a horrible post. I am looking for stuff. There's a lot of stuff but it all feels pawed-over, like, I can put up stuff about Germanwings but I have to think you've already thought all the thoughts you're going to think about that.

Oh well, there is this: Scott Walker says he doesn't support a pathway to citizenship for illegals, and says it's a lie to claim he "flip-flopped" into saying that, and Allah says he's a Big Liar in the first place, because he's always supported a pathway to citizenship and likely always will.

17 As for Walker's stance on immigration.

I'm a firm believer in "watch what they do, not what they say." What he has *done* has shown that he is, at minimum, soft on the border. I'm sure he's not a full AMIGO GRANDE!!! amnista, but I do believe his current stance of "no pathway to citizenship" is simply for speeches, and not what he believes.

I would much rather he defend what he believes honestly.

For example, he's said we don't even even need border security, we should just make it so easy to come in legally that one needs needs to sneak in. And he's repeatedly said that anyone who wants to work in the US should be able to come here.

61 Interesting OT:

Berkeley is in a tizzy over this video, which shows a city "ambassador" beating up a homeless dude:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sQ8nNr03cU

A little background:

Berkeley, like a lot of places these days, has a lot of homeless bums who live on the streets.

Berkeley also has an unusual "Ambassador" program in which the city hires folks to act as a sort of a cross between "street patrols" and "Welcome to the city tourist greeters."

But here's the crazy part:

In order to be PC, and to offer jobs to the disadvantaged, the city often hires (what's the right euphemism here) ex-cons and minor offenders and thugs to be the city's Ambassadors. In truth, half the time they end up scaring away tourists and initiating conflicts, rather than smoothing everything over.

The Ambassadors are not the police, and thus don't have any extra powers or rights: they're just people in city-issued uniforms who look official.

Anyway, in the video, two Ambassadors confront two bums who apparently were intending to root around in a dumpster. One of the bums gets (somewhat justifiably) irate that one Ambassador is just standing on his possessions. After some harsh words, the Ambassador just rears back and punches the bum HARD, and then continues to beat on him. The other bum tries to come to his friend's rescue, but ends up incompetently hitting his fellow bum rather than the Ambassador. The second Ambassador tries to restrain the second bum during the beating.

The city is falling all over itself apologizing for the Ambassador's assault.

And the activists are framing this as yet another Abuse of Power by the state. (Even though the attackers aren't police.)

HOWEVER...

...what no one wants to talk about is that this may be racial, because the Ambassadors are both Black, and the bums are both White.

So seen from another angle, this is yet another black-on-white violent crime, this time facilitated by state-conferred authority.

Because of the dangerous conflicting narratives, the media will likely sidestep this minefield!

87 " dealing with those here illegally, i.e. creating a path to citizenship."

allahpundit says 'dealing with' equals path to citizenship. That is not true, at least it is not what Walker said in that case. It is certainly true we will not mass deport illegals, we will "deal with them". There are several options there, that do not include citizenship. Slowly applying e-verify would mean many would indeed "self deport". But that phrase can't be used, as Romney demonstrated. Maybe some will "go back home" is nicer.

I think they just want to stay, but Democrats are the ones demanding they get the vote in time. A certain percentage we could give visas to work where they are actually needed in jobs. I think we should not give any illegal the vote or citizenship.

As for not punishing those children for what their parents did ... ANY child that has a law-breaking parent is punished for that in some way. But getting to live in America for a few years is not a punishment.

88 I'm down with accepting amnesty for illegals, if we agree on zero new immigration until they are fully assimilated (10 years or so). But they will never agree to that, and will never carry it out even if they agreed.

89 Can we talk about how the Republican senators voted down Rand Paul's amendment to offset defense spending increases with cuts elsewhere in the budget? Anytime Cruz or Rubio say they are fiscal conservatives and plan to balance the budget, they should be laughed off camera. What a sad party the GOP has become.

90 Hahahaha!

Oh, man. That Mitt Romney sure is rich.

And white!

91 We spend our time hand wringing about immigration, tax reform, entitlement reform, etc., etc., when it no longer makes a freak'n bit of difference. With the congress we have now, and we'll have then, every Presidents political agenda will be nothing but playing on the fringes. They will never pull this country back to limited federal government. It will keep spending till the whole shit collapses. Neither Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, Hillary Clinton or Zombie Goldwater can stop it.

92 The "safety" sheet at the Mayo Clinic is very long:

http://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/marijuana/safety/hrb-20059701

And the efficacy sheet is unimpressive:

http://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/marijuana/evidence/hrb-20059701

The reason there's a push for legalizing marijuana without it going through the usual rigorous studies that is required of most medicines has very little to do with medicine and a lot to do with recreation.

Don't come whining to me when your pot make the other medicines you take ineffective or leads to troubling side effects. If pot users would be willing to put up a bond and sign something saying they'll never file a malpractice suit against a drug company or doctor, knock yourselves out.

Literally.

I'm not keen on the costs associated with testing all existing meds, esp OTCs, vs marijuana for contraindications that, undoubtedly, will be passed on to me when I need an Advil.

93 I sort of want a Germanwings post as I possibly missed it during personal trauma(s) of life.

I also note that I have read this blog way too long to think "lacewigs" when I see "Germanwings." xoxo

94 Romney is running a stealth campaign. Why else is he putting himself into the limelight? Why now?

95 IMO Allah is pretty much of sh.t.

He's always on the down side of everything, ruining any optimism or hope.

I think he's a well-placed troll.
