Obama Flack Josh Earnest: We Still Think We Did an Awesome Job in Yemen
Obama Spokesman Jen Psaki: We Still Think We Did an Awesome Job With Bergdahl

Hm.

I sense a pattern here.

Josh Earnest: #YemenDenier.

Jen Psaki: #BergdahlDenier.

Incredible.

The Obama White House is just a Crisis Communications Shop. Everything is delay, distract, discredit, deny, destroy.*

It's just nothing but lies, spin, more lies, photo ops, human shields and Twitter games.

163 bergdahl

They could've aought the death penalty. The case has been sent to an article 32 hearing, which is a step to a general court martial.

The Article 32 hearing will be presided over by a military judge who will make recommendations about the charges, what forum should be used, even the punishment. Even at that stage he will recommend whether the death penalty should be sought

If the death penalty should be sought, other procedures have to occur. I think the military judge in the article 32 hearing will recommend against the death penalty, and it will not be pursued

We already know bergdahl is NOT being held in pretrial confinement, which signals they will not seek the death penalty.

Also yesterday Bergdahls lawyer was allowed to give the press a statement of fact from bergdahl alleging the conditions and hardships of his "captivity" by his "captors". Normally lawyers are very strongly discouraged from engaging with the media in military cases, even civilian lawyers. A gag order might even be issued

It clearly wasn't in this case. Bergdahls lawyer was permitted to release a statement of fact, which is evidence, to the press. They are prepping the ground. The government will not seek the death penalty. He will be sent to a GCM. He will be reduced to e-1, forfeiture of all pay, DD. No time.

Which he will get upgraded to an UOTHC or a General discharge in a couple of years, maybe evenan honorable eventually

c) Because it makes liberal heads explode.

All that said, I think a Christian Cost Share would have been a great option instead, but I see why he would go with the "destroy it from inside" option instead.

238 Bergdahl benefits

He will lose all rank and pay and receive a punative discharge from the court martial

After discharge he will apply to the Army Discharge Review Board and get his discharge upgraded, perhaps all the way to honorable, eventually

When he is discharged they will have to evaluate his medical condition. it's likely they will claim he has service related medical disability from which he will receive pay and benefits.

If he thinks he should receive a greater disability rating, he will go to the Medical Discharge Reciew Board for the Army

And they will give him 100% full disability, based on his captivity. Disability pay is tax free

If you don't have a CHL then it is probably going to be illegal if it is covered up so you probably don't want an inside the waist band holster, although I have found those to be the most comfortable and practical. You can go full cowboy and get a single action hog leg type revolver and carry it in a carved leather buscadero holster with cartridge belt. The nice thing about those guns is that there seems to be no upper limit on the cartridge you can shoot from them.

It's never 'just' depression when a sicko does something like this.

There's *always* something associated with the depression that the person is using to rationalize his/her depression.

We will find out there was some sort of obsession with this pilot -- his 'bugaboo', if you will -- that was his utility for hatred. (He hated not only himself, but the whole world, obviously, and he there was, in his mind, a good reason for doing so. We will likely learn this reason soon.)

Perhaps he can oppose it and while doing so provide his own anecdotal evidence on how sucktastic it is. He can say that ObamaCare is the law and unlike certain people he will follow the law, no matter how inconvenient. And it helps with his image if he is going to be running a populist campaign.

The most astounding reported fact by The Telegraph is that Andreas Lubitz had accumulated only 650 hours of flight experience. That's a very low level of exposure, and no America FAR 121 large carrier would employ any pilot for the 2nd seat at that level. Regional carriers have lower standards, but they are sufficient to meet the FAA approved minimum qualifications.

I do question the fact reported, and suggest that if he was rated at that level, he was not qualified to fly the Airbus. In America, we have 2nd seat pilots flying with a few thousand hours of experience, especially with carriers that employ retired military and those with rosters filled with large numbers of pilots employed during periods of rapid expansion.

With the US carrier employer seniority systems, it can take years to advance into the left seat, and that's why America has a very qualified pilot work force.

402 When Cruz started talking about this, he said that he had to go through an ACA exchange because it is required by law. This, of course, is not true.

What are his other options?

I "think" both he and others are confused. I "Believe" he said he was going to get the "Federal" plan which is what all Senators and COngress creatures have always had. That is NOT specifically a Fredocare plan.

406 Whats a Nick Searcy when it isnt eating demoturds?

He's going to direct the Gosnell movie Andrew Klavan is writing the screenplay.

Probably the sort of movie I should not watch (for the same reasons I should not have read that link), but it will be very well written and directed, and probably one people need to watch.

410 I think that maybe we are all missing out on the finer parts of the uber diplomacinging that is taking place right now.

Sure, we're selling out one of our stanchest allies but we're also able to do away with all of the other Arab nations too.

It's like shooting the moon in hearts, it's not that easy to do.

412 Yeah, saw the video. He's saying he's required to get insurance though an ACA exchange. This is not true. Is he going to tell us the real reason or continue to lie about the law? Do you care if he lies?

Posted by: Inquiring mind at March 26, 2015 03:30 PM (ibvmu)

413 Inquiring Accusations, why don't you quote what you think is a lie and we can go from there.

HuffPo:

"Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who is expected to announce his campaign for president next month, on Wednesday quietly introduced an amendment that would drastically boost defense spending over the next two years. The measure, first spotted by Time, would allocate an additional $190 billion to the Pentagon -- amounting to an approximately 16 percent increase to its budget. To offset the increase in spending, Paul calls for substantial cuts to U.S. foreign aid, the Environmental Protection Agency, and departments of Education, Commerce, and Housing and Urban Development."

He's doing it to get the others who favor Defense increases to show where the money should come from.

Exactly

Posted by: Nevergiveup at March 26, 2015 03:31 PM (rDqRv)

416 As Patterico says, the law does not require Cruz to get his insurance on an exchange, but apparently he is considering doing so.

Ted Cruz covering his family with ObamaCare is like James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles walking into an Acorn office. Relax. Don't worry.

Posted by: Alfred E SE Pa Moron at March 26, 2015 03:31 PM (xQX/f)

417 402 The other option is a private insurance plan not through an ACA exchange, which is what about 15-25 million Americans have.

Nope.

And if Inquiring Minds would like an actual answer then you will find in the article that Cruz said he would "presumably" sign up through an exchange, not definitely.

419 Ask him and let us know

Posted by: ThunderB, Shapeshifter at March 26, 2015 03:32 PM (zOTsN)

420 403, actually by law the plan available to members of Congress is through the federal ACA exchange.

Posted by: Inquiring mind at March 26, 2015 03:32 PM (ibvmu)

421 Well be getting new health insurance and well presumably do it through my job with the Senate, and so well be on the federal exchange with millions of others on the federal exchange,

He is mixing words which adds to the confusion, but the FEDERAL PLAN is NOT Fredocare. The FEDERAL Plan is NOT an EXCHANGE.

Posted by: Nevergiveup at March 26, 2015 03:33 PM (rDqRv)

422 402 The other option is a private insurance plan not through an ACA exchange, which is what about 15-25 million Americans have.

Ok - maybe I am ignorant here. So you can buy a plan through private exchange or through Obamacare? Why would anyone buy through Obamacare?

Posted by: SH at March 26, 2015 03:35 PM (gmeXX)

423 I used to work on the hill

Insurance has always been offered to members of congress, even in the Reagan years.

Sounds like now, if you want that same congressional insurance, you have to go thru the federal exchange

They said congress should not be able to exempt themselves from the laws they impose on others

Why don't you call Cruz IM

Posted by: ThunderB, Shapeshifter at March 26, 2015 03:35 PM (zOTsN)

424 Vague accusations, single-minded attacks, ignoring details, insulting assumptions, yeah, totes an inquiring mind and not just a bargain-basement agitator.

425 actually by law the plan available to members of Congress is through the federal ACA exchange.
Posted by: Inquiring mind at March 26, 2015 03:32 PM (ibvmu)

NO it is not. Can any person sign up for it? You have to be in Congress or work for them with stipulations

Posted by: Nevergiveup at March 26, 2015 03:36 PM (rDqRv)

426 It's that someone *poses* as asking questions when what they really want is to hurl an insult. Just hurl the insult, it's less of a lie.

427 The Yemen model was a perfect success. Much like the global warming models are a perfect success. And in both instances, the real world data needs a lot of adjustment, sorry, statistical analysis before the reality properly matches the models. Or is that the other way around? Eh...whatever.

432 Enrollment in ACA plans - either through the marketplace, through an insurance broker, or direct with the insurance company - is closed for this year - you can't buy insurance at the moment. Cruz is able to sign up now only because he is losing coverage, thus triggering a Special Enrollment Period exemption.

If I remember correctly, if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, you have to go through the Marketplace and can't switch to a non-Marketplace plan until the next open enrollment period. If that's correct then he doesn't have a choice; the only coverage available outside the mandated Open Enrollment Period is through the Marketplace.
