Want To Live The Rock Star Lifestyle But Don't Have Any Musical Ability? No Problem, Just Become A Federal Law Enforcement Agent!*

Sex parties with hookers and other gifts, all courtesy of your local Colombian drug cartel! All this can be yours if you just sign up to join the DEA or any of a number of other federal agencies.

Sweet!

The stunning allegations are part of an investigation by the Justice Department’s inspector general into allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct within DEA, FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the U.S. Marshals Service. The IG’s office found that DEA did not fully comply with its probe.

...

The “sex parties” in Colombia, though, were by far the most damaging allegations.

“The foreign officer allegedly arranged ‘sex parties’ with prostitutes funded by the local drug cartels for these DEA agents at their government-leased quarters, over a period of several years,” the IG report says.

“Although some of the DEA agents participating in these parties denied it, the information in the case file suggested they should have known the prostitutes in attendance were paid with cartel funds. A foreign officer also alleged providing protection for the DEA agents’ weapons and property during the parties,” the report said. “The foreign officers further alleged that in addition to soliciting prostitutes, three DEA SSAs [special agents] in particular were provided money, expensive gifts, and weapons from drug cartel members.”

But don't worry, there's a price to be paid for such egregious behavior....suspensions of between 2 and 10 days. Thanks public worker unions!

Gee, why do some people feel the game is rigged against the serfs, er "average citizen" and in favor of members of the governing class.

71 The War on Alcohol created a Crime Syndicate (there's no such thing as a mafia, just ask em) that was much more powerful than they ever dreamed of becoming.
Because they were providing something a great many people wanted.
They also created legions of corrupt(able) cops, DA's judges, politicians....you get the idea.
That much power and wealth spread around had a very corrosive effect on the already tenuous honesty of government.

The War on drugs is the same, only the stakes and the money are much, much higher. These cartels are almost in control of countries, their influence is so great.

Not going to go batshit libertarian here, but a rational person could ask if the War on some Drugs (TM) is worth the cost. What have been the gains, and what have We the People given up or had taken from us in the prosecution of this War.
Gifts and Sex parties for DEA agents is just a tiny tiny peek into the corruption, almost a distraction even.

Posted by: Mr. Moo Moo at March 26, 2015 11:16 AM (0LHZx)

96 This is all so unbelievable to me. As a kid, I dreamed about growing up and being a straight-shooting G-man or a supercool undercover DEA Agent--or even protecting the President as an uber-capable Secret Service Agent, heroicallytrained and wiling to throw myself into the path of the bullet aimed at the President, who I envisioned as also heroic and wise.

And now it turns out most of them are dirty, drunken scumbags, and the rest are (evidently) timid little careerists dreaming of those golden parachute pensions who don't want to rock the boat.

Fire them all. It's a shame we can't shoot them.

97 OK, here's the storyuring the filming of Rebel Without A Cause, Wood, James Dean and Dennis Hopper decided they wanted to have an old-fashioned Hollywood orgy, just like they did back in the days of John Barrymore. So the three rented a cabin in the mountains and headed there.

In the trunk of Dean's car were cases of champagne, because another thing Wood wanted to do was bathe in a tub of champagne, which, to her teenage mind, was the epitome of Hollywood class. So Dean and Hopper bought as many cases as they could find and, when they got to the cabin, filled up the tub to the rim.

The luscious Wood disrobed before her two amorous swains, and, with a sly smile, slipped into the tub. But as soon as her holy of holies submerged into the fizzling bubbly, she screamed in pain, "My pussy's on fire!" and leapt out of the tub, to hide in her bedroom - alone and in pain - for the rest of the night.

History doesn't say how a blue-balled Dean and Hopper passed the evening.

212 @183 - around here cops are pulling six figures from pretty early in their careers, especially if they can snag a little overtime, and with the current disability and 3%-at-50 pension retirements pretty much everyone's retired by their early 50s with a pension at or above their base pay for their final year and medical for life.

I think the firemen have it better than the cops in that once you get some seniority you can pretty much set up your work schedule around the hours of an outside business.

Maybe the good part of the Californian public-safety taxpayer shakedown is that big payout at the end is a pretty good incentive to minimize on-duty corruption.

As a patrolman, he enjoyed the action and the excitement. Although he confided that most of the city cops in this city were pot heads. Interesting.

As he grew older and became a sergeant (investigator, plain clothes), he grew more cynical about the job and a lot of other cops.

The last few years, he was counting the days until he could retire and get out. I don't think he was corrupt. But he sure saw a lot of stuff inside that made him sick and tired.

I think a lot of cops get into it for various reasons, and then get burned out and should quit, but don't. Then they become alcoholics, corrupt, a lot of things. Cynical, mainly.

You only need a CCW if you plan on carrying. WAY, WAY more than that have pistols anyway (that they just don't carry), and/or rifles/shotguns.

While the cause (US weaknesses, fecklessness, lack of seriousness) is of course disastrous, the result of Arab states (and, most likely, others, ahemm) collaborating to try and deal with the Persian onslaught may have positive effects in the longer run.

Beyond the absurd "leadership" currently vandalizing and wrecking the US, the country as a whole is not the serious actor it was just a few years ago. Nothing close to the maturity on foreign policy that allowed more or less responsible leadership during most of the Cold War.

Carter was far out of touch with average sensible American views on world affairs - one reason for the electorate excreting him from power in 1980.

To the extent most Americans have anything that could be called "views" on foreign policy today, Obama's, uh own very unsophisticated ignorant (and in his case perversely anti-American) views are NOT that out of the mainstream.

312 In a development that has largely been missed by mainstream media, the Pentagon early last month quietly declassified a Department of Defense top-secret document detailing Israel's nuclear program, a highly covert topic that Israel has never formally announced to avoid a regional nuclear arms race, and which the US until now has respected by remaining silent.

But by publishing the declassified document from 1987, the US reportedly breached the silent agreement to keep quiet on Israel's nuclear powers for the first time ever, detailing the nuclear program in great depth.

The timing of the revelation is highly suspect, given that it came as tensions spiraled out of control between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and US President Barack Obama ahead of Netanyahu's March 3 address in Congress, in which he warned against the dangers of Iran's nuclear program and how the deal being formed on that program leaves the Islamic regime with nuclear breakout capabilities.

Another highly suspicious aspect of the document is that while the Pentagon saw fit to declassify sections on Israel's sensitive nuclear program, it kept sections on Italy, France, West Germany and other NATO countries classified, with those sections blocked out in the document.

338 I prefer to be thought of as a "Foot Washin' Baptist."

So, do you do that on Holy Thursday.? People in churches often don't like to have their feet washed because they don't want people looking at their feet. However, as you know Jesus did it as a sign of service and humility-because feet are considered a private/low part of the body, . That is why some Middle Eastern person threw shoes at Bush and why Obama had his feet up on the Oval Office Desk with his soles showing while talking to Bibi, several years ago (and of course, the American media just passed it off)because they didn't know it was considered a slur. Obama has shown contempt for Israel since he came to office.

Just dealing with (the disastrous situation) as it presents itself. And the "choice" for this was made by American voters, twice. More than that, actually. The hysteria in 2006 over Iraq pretty much revealed the unseriousness that pervades America on serious issues.

And those finding apparent tension in the US bombing ISIS in Tikrit to assist (inter alia, a key point) "Iranian-backed Shi'a militia" should consider similar situations, which are not that unusual in modern times, esp. during the Cold War.

Cuban troops guarded US-owned Gulf oil facilities in the exclave of Cabinda for the Soviet-backed MPLA regime in Angola, while the same Cubans fought US-backed UNITA and FNLA rebels in the south and east of the country. All this time the US and certain Euro countries tightened the vice of sanctions on South Africa, while cooperating with South African military and intel folks in southern Angola.
