Obama: Um, Okay, Actually I Did Know Hillary Was Using a Private Email Service

Just a few days ago, the White House claimed that it only became aware of this issue in August 2014, when Hillary inveighed upon them to keep it quiet.

Now Josh Earnest "clarifies" -- "clarifies" is a White House euphemism for "completely reverses a previously-told falsehood" -- that in fact Obama did notice that Hillary was using private email since like forever ago, but didn't know the exact extent of her usage of it, nor that she had completely refused to even set up a government email.

"I would not describe the numbers of emails as large.... He was not aware of the details of how that email address and that server had been set up," Earnest said.
That's a shift from Saturday, March 7, when Obama told CBS that he learned about Clinton’s private email system at "the same time everybody else learned it through news reports."

This constant dissembling from the White House, in which broad and emphatic untruths are later replaced, less prominently, but selective disclosures, is a calculated technique of deception. The White House knows that people firm their strongest, most enduring perceptions of an issue just as they form perceptions of a person -- first impressions dominate all subsequent information learned.

So the White House always -- always -- chooses to lie very big in the beginning, to establish that First Impression in the minds of the public, which will never completely dislodge, that they "didn't know" this or that.

Then, once that deception is implanted, they offer less false (but often, still pretty false) accounts.

Hillary would have had to be on email lists, including a "cabinet member" email list, and someone in IT at the white house and at state and at any other organization where Hillary was on an email list would have had to a) whitelist her domain and b) add her off-domain email address to the mailing list

And if she was going to IM her colleagues -- which is apparently what they all do, since the fed gov is the only place where lync convo's aren't archived like emails -- her clintonemail.com domain would also have to be federated with the state.gov domain.

So please some insulting our intelligence.

It's like when they said the IRS doesn't back up emails, and expects employees to archive emails TO THE LOCAL HARD DRIVE which is laughable.

Ignoring the people who she corresponded with, dozens of IT people throughout DC would have also had to know, or her emails to everyone in government would have been sorted out with all of the other emails these govt officials -- who have publicly available email addresses.

In other words, thousands of angry citizens probably email department heads on their public email addresses every day. To make those inboxes manageable, everyone who is not whitelisted almost definitely gets sorted in to a "bullshit from the plebes" folder.

So IT people all over DC had to be whitelisting her email addresses (or just the domain) so that Hillary could email people without her emails being lost.

One thing that interests me is what part H. Clinton took in Fast and Furious.

FF sent guns to Mexican criminals (and they seem to have been running other, similar ops out of Florida and perhaps elsewhere that sent guns to Central America). It seems to me that that kind of thing should interest State, who has, via ITAR, authority to investigate and prosecute.

Yet not a peep from Clinton. Or State. I'd like to see her emails from the whole FF period.

We already know that not only was Justice involved in FF but DHS was as well, as was Treasury (at least one IRS agent). I would guess State was in the loop as well.

Cruising through the sports channels the other day and landed on an ESPN documentary about high school athletes who are "transgendered" and want to play on their chosen gender teams.

What was really frightening about it was the complete acceptance by the youths on the teams of this person. How they admired the person for their bravery, etc.

Some oddities in the Boris Nemtsov murder case in Russia. The Russians have six suspects. One reportedly blew himself up when cornered by police. One claims to have an alibi (specifically, he claims he was at work with lots of witnesses). And one apparently confessed in court before making an Islamic gesture.

The last man is the particularly interesting one. He reportedly has links to Putin's guy in Chechnya. In theory, that would suggest that Putin was behind the murder. But if that were the case, I'd expect the government to be making sure that this guy didn't get caught - or at least not get caught this quickly.

I'm not saying that Putin's losing any sleep over Nemtsov's death. But it does make me wonder if the hit was unrelated to the Russian government in Moscow.
