Yeah, in the first season crossed with a 60s Gerry Anderson Thunderbirds vibe, in the second season with 80 pop-culture.

Very meh.

Cultural note. Aussie TV does something really odd before shows that show dead people -- as in people like Winston Churchill that are no longer alive. They broadcast a warning to the Aborigines so they can avoid the show. Because it steals their souls or something.

1) Ed Straker. It has to be someone who can look and sound pissed off all the time, but not in a petulant SJW way, more in a snappy, irritated, I'm-all-that-stands-between-humanity-and-disaster way. He has to convey the idea that he has never heard of snark, and if he ever saw some, he would punch it without a moment to think about it. Not sure about this one. Today's actors are mostly too relaxed.

106 So there I was, last Saturday, about five in the afternoon, pulling into my driveway after an unscheduled day at work putting the finishing touches on another Vac System. Inside the house....., Wife, kids, pets, home, weekend, (only partially interrupted)!

Couple hours later, call from the boss. I'm leaving first thing early the next morning for a lovely week in Ohio. I took one of the new guys with me, so we'd have a full crew, (I played driver). Barely there for 24 hours and New Guy was busted for trying to shoplift a wireless router from Walmart. After about an hour of fruitless negotiations with the security guy, (who hid his face from me the entire time), to settle the issue without the police.....up to offering to just buy the damn router, the cops arrive, and New Guy is marched out to the police car in cuffs.

Boss not happy at hearing that news, New Guy fired immediately. Around midnight, we picked up Ex New Guy at the 'detention facility', and drove him to a motel his friends/family paid for. I made sure he had a few bucks for food, and we left him there.

The weirdest part of that day was the Walmart security guy refusing to face me while we talked.....it was just.....weird. Yeah, I understand why, still really odd though.

Oh.....if I haven't mentioned it yet, a week without internet. It sucked. (Company apartment, which apparently doesn't rate internet connectivity. It was kind of fun explaining to the boss today that I didn't finish the technical drawings and schematics because I had no internet).

Lastly.....home again! Captain Moon, ignite that chicken casserole! Hoowah!

107 Danger 5 is a real thing, yes. It's an Australian comedy action show. Up until recently the whole first season was available on Hulu, but it's not there now... maybe something to do with the fact that they just finished up their second season.

111 I absolutely love Danger 5. It's not a Team America rip-off; it's an homage to the shows from the 60's like Man from Uncle or whatever (and yes, Thunderbirds a little bit). They make sure you can see the strings on all the little miniatures. Everybody smokes and drinks and drinks some more. They turn the action knob to 11, with explosions and gun battles in every episode, and with the heroes fighting dinosaurs and robots.

If you actually watch the show and don't love it, sit in a corner and think about what's wrong with you.
