Mom has had scoliosis since childhood, but recently it's gotten worse. She's going the physical therapy route, which seems to be helping her. I'd do just about anything before attempting back surgery.

The after-the-fact stuff remains beyond belief and easily the most outrageous (and transparent, and amateurish, and despicable) scandal in US foreign policy history. Up to and including the loathsome, bizarre behavior of Hills, Bambi, and Joey Choo Choo alongside the caskets of the dead and their statements to family.
The country is degraded beyond recognition and that chapter illustrates it as dramatically as any other of the last few years.

So in 2016 you'd be facing a fairly well-respected incumbent, not the legacy of a catastrophe. I'd bet Biden could win reelection on that basis.

Big difference in the two splits:
The GOP split is over philosophy. Dem split is over power.
GOP is split on the GOPe and "Tea Party" types.
The Dem split is, and has been, between the Obama minions and the Clinton machine. Who wins the fight in 2016 controls the party, and the money, for the next 4-12 years. Both need that money. Clintons need it for their "foundation", and the Obamas need it for their retirement years. A house in Hawaii and college tuition don't come cheap.

Summary:
* She overheard two guys behind her. First was a comment that was weird slang, and she mistook it as some sexual joke. Second was a very mildly sexual joke: hey, let's make a USB device with a really big dongle, hur hur hur.
* She could have turned around and said "That's not cool. You're making me uncomfortable." Based on evidence we have following the incident, the guys would have immediately apologized effusively. She didn't do this.
* She could have found a conference staff member and complained. She didn't do this.
* Instead she took a photo of them and put it on Twitter, where the Internet could see it. In other words, she didn't bother with a warning, she just went straight for the nuke.
Now, here's the truly ironic part. On her own blog, before this incident, she wrote a post about how a woman should say "That's not cool" in such situations. And, her job was "developer evangelist", which means it was her job to win hearts and minds of potential customers of her company (developers who could use her company's products), and Twitter and other social media were part of her job. In other words, she damn well knew better. She can't claim she had no idea what she was doing.
After she became widely hated for getting a father of three kids fired from his job, her company fired her. This makes perfect sense. If her job was to win hearts and minds, and she was so hated that people were starting to attack her company's servers, she clearly could not do her job, probably ever again. She was now unambiguously a liability to the company.
Now I read that sidebar article, and it says she hasn't had a job since she lost that developer evangelist job. And she blames the guy who was fired! She thinks he shouldn't have publicly stated that he was fired, and I guess she thinks she wouldn't have lost her job if he had just kept his mouth shut after she got him fired.
I agree with the guy she got fired: nobody should have to go through what she went through. (He seems like a nice guy who is willing to let bygones be bygones.) But my sympathy is limited, because she should have known better.

My mom....she's 80....had surgery a little over 2 wks. ago. She couldn't walk. After surgery and a week of re-hab she's getting around pretty well.
