Yes, but this is the kind of pushback that is meaningless. There is little risk in today's action. I want pushback that involves actual risk. I also want pushback that involves the exercise of legitimate Congessional powers, whether that be the power of the purse, impeachment, consent over nominees, etc.

Not really. Chamberlain may have been naive but he undoubtedly was loyal to Britain and was doing what he thought was best, however misguided.

As far as the speech goes, it is so damned refreshing hearing a major politician give a speech in public that is honest, straightforward and void of political correctness. It has become so rare it is always stands out when you hear it.

Will this speech fall into either of those categories? I don't know. I think for Bibi in Israel, this speech could be of the latter variety. Hopefully for the world, it will be for the former.

As I recall, there's an IDF Auxiliary program for non-combat jobs; logistics, mechanics, truck drivers etc. Open to foreign supporters of Israel, and it frees up IDF manpower for the trigger-pulling. IIRC, the physical, experience and age requirements are pretty wide, so even us fat old bastards could pitch a hand if we have skills that would be useful, and if we can pass the security check.
