1 If the RepublicRAT "leadership" had balls instead of neuticles, they would schedule the override vote on Keystone for today.

Unfortunately, the only group they're interested in defeating is conservatives.

4 Netanyahu's speech has got Obama admin breaking out in hives with the possibility that he will reveal details of the deal the admin is trying to strike with Iran.

Just guessing, but this doesn't seem to indicate that the deal is probably very good for Israel, and if it isn't good for Israel, it probably isn't good for the U.S.

Going out on a limb here...

cute.

Sanderssent a lettertoTreasury Secretary Jack Lew Fridayidentifying a number ofexecutive actions he believes the IRS could take, without any input from Congress, that would close loopholes currently used by corporations.

There is no such thing as a loophole. All provisions of the tax code were written to incentivize a course of action, to reward cronies, or to punish the unloved.

Loophole makes it sound like you can just creatively read the tax code and find an Easter egg.

Posted by: Bandersnatch at March 03, 2015 09:25 AM (JtwS4)

70 We can't "undo" Obamacare because of

1) "Risk Corridors", the corporatist payoff to the big insurance companies to buy their agreement

2) the wreckage of normal insurance practices by Federal law, meaning "no one can be denied coverage", however untrue this canard actually is.

3) There is not much "will" in Congress to do anything except some meaningless gesture acknowledging that "the people" (whoever those saps are) don't like it. The Republicans can milk this for votes for a couple of election cycles yet. Just like balanced budgets, Right to Life, etc., etc.

After a few more years, this bridle of tyranny won't be too uncomforable. We'll get used to it.

Loopholes exist because the legislative branch specifically wrote the law to create them. They'd invariably bluster that the legislature didn't realize that the law they wrote would do that, or that the intent was different from what was on paper.

145 Posted by: RickZ at March 03, 2015 09:41 AM (sy6zs)

Correct. Corporations do not pay any taxes, because there's no magic pool of corporate money just laying around. All of their revenue comes from customers buying their products. If you take a slice out of that revenue, the corporation simply demands more for its product to make up for the shortfall.

Corporate tax is the most regressive form of taxation, because the cost of goods and services is felt keenly by the poor, who are very price-sensitive, but barely at all by the wealthy, who can afford to pay more.

198 One of the great things about growing up in Boston, at least when I did, was being surrounded by so much Revolutionary history. And back in those bad old days teachers actually took advantage of it and taught us what happened.

We had field trips to the Freedom Trail, Lexington and Concord, etc.. We really got to see what happened to people when they feel they are being attacked by a tyrannical government.

Obama and the other statists are playing with fire if they assume there is no point they can't push people. History shows over and over again that they are very wrong. There is always a bridge too far that they go and when they do, well we all know what happens then.

Exactly. And as I've said a thousand times, governments are instituted to provide benefit to citizens. You can infer that from the unalienable rights they are supposed to protect. When a government acts to the detriment of its own citizens, elevating the wants of foreign nationals above them, it has betrayed its most basic purpose and can only be reformed or abolished.

Reform doesn't look very possible, lately, the corruption goes all the way down.

The danger is you are connecting to "them" - if they have any issues (virus, trojans, ect), it 'could' infect you (but, I've never seen it) - its usually very small on biz-grade networks, and those of us whom are paranoid on maintained local, smaller ones

http://tinyurl.com/mlbp9wg gives MS's overview.

You can also use VNC (my favorite) to connect also opposed to RDC

Its a virtual connection (a limited, localized VPN), but you interact on their device, they cannot on yours.

275 The trouble with English language.

"Why is drunken sex the man's fault?"

First case. Mob of unemployed men sit around drinking mead all day and go on a drunken Viking raid, plundering, looting, burning, pillaging and raping. Ok, that's a bad thing. If you want to argue the ancient vikings didn't do that, then substitute 'russian'.

Second case, Girls night out wanna get wild and paaaarrrty, get drunk and get ....... and it's the man's fault for giving the wildly drunken fems what they wanted because men are supposed to protect the helpless women who can't control their impulses at a drunken frat party they voluntarily attend.

Third case, innocent flower of fem virginity wants to meet handsome college student with potential for very large paycheck from some very large corporation. Has a drink, maybe two, gives in to impulse and discovers handsome college male will never be able to deliver on the promise of a large corporate paycheck. This is clearly rape, fraud, abuse, breach of promise, and oppressive patriarchy because he promised her a magnificent stallion to ride in dressage competition and all she got was a shetland pony and a cowboy hat.

282 Exactly.

I'm puzzled at how and when the notion of giving anyone who's not an American citizen any of the freedoms and benefits of our Constitution became popular. I can understand it when it comes to the court system, but paying illegals "back taxes" when they haven't paid any taxes at all seems all postmodern and shit.

To me, it just doesn't make sense. I'm pretty sure some of it began with that ridiculous misreading of the 14th Amendment that created that idiotic "anchor babies" bullshit. But since then, it's been expanded to include anyone who happens to be on American soil, whether or not they're subject to the jurisdiction of another government (which they very clearly are unless they've gone through our naturalization process).

Oh well, #WASTF anyway, so what the hell.

331 Instead of penalizing refusal to buyhealth insurance, simply reward the prudent provision of a taxpayer for himself and his family by sheltering income save or spent for health care expenses, including insurance plans, from taxation.

Encourage group insurance for non employer provided insurance, instead of individual plans; the scammy short term market always needed to be choked and reined in.... And shelter HSAs and block government demands that Medicare or Medicaid payments be calculated at a set discount of a standard fee, or government rules that a physician or hospital may not negotiate directly with a patient in the cash market (or who pays with an HSA).

Restrict rescission for "pre existing conditions" to cases where a high burden of proof of active deception in a limited window of time is established. No denying cancer treatment because someone forgot to mention a heart murmur diagnosed five years ago. You deny it to the person who found a lump related to the cancer within a year or purchase of a plan and hid it.

Limited rescission rights, tailored plans, state regulation of plans continuing, physicians and hospitals set their own rates independently of any contract with Medicare or Medicaid, sheltering of health care expenses from taxation, group plans available outside of employment. Medicaid for those unlucky or grasshoppery enough to get stuck with bad health and no money to pay for care.

>>>Trump is about as establishment R/squishy as you can get. He has this rep for being tough, but when you get right down to it he's a statist.

Sure sure sure.

Name the first Republican Presidential candidate?

352 Suggested methods for Hasan's execution?

Anything slow and painful would be nice, but more importantly, he should be buried in a pig's ass.

Ah a rope. Add a tree. Old ways are tried and true. For our times I would ask for the rope to be made from pigs hide so the radicals can have something special.

354 He can still say it

If it is censored in Israel it will still get out in the press, on the Internet.
Posted by: ThunderB, Shapeshifter at March 03, 2015 10:35 AM (zOTsN)

You all are confusing 2 different things. What is going to be censored in Israel is just anything "Political" relating specifically to the Election in Israel. Such as if Netanyahu attacks one of his rivals. They do not give a rat's ass what he saus about Fredo or Iran

355 No, not really, but she did ask, "Prime Minister, are you concerned that you might divulge classified information?"

LOL.... well the Iranians know what they are doing... the Israelis know... the US Government knows...

sounds like the only ones classified material is being kept from, is the US Electorate...

Good point. Let's hope Obama hasn't orchestrated a mechanical function so that nobody can watch it. "Ooops; The video feed went out."

357 I know this comment is way late but could Hasan be executed by drowning in a hog farm manure pit?

358 330 Good for Schilling, but what if it were, oh, some average joe's daughter?

Would he have even been given the time of day if he complained to the college of one of those shithead trolls if he were just some schlub?

Sadly it depends on color, gender, money, sexual orientation and all the other bull shit pc markers.

I vote firing squad, with M107, from 1000 yards.

So he can see the muzzle flashes...

361 There was a place where I grew up called "White Eagle Farms" that was actually a facility for animal testing.

We called it "Dead Beagle Farms".

There was a strip mall where I used to live that had a veterinary hospital right next to a chinese restaurant, the motto of which (my wife and I were pretty sure) was "Try our moo shu sik puppy!"

362 Netanyahu just walked into the Capitol and the CNN idiot-whore Dana Bash yelled, "Prime Minister, what about your gaffes?!?!?"

No, not really, but she did ask, "Prime Minister, are you concerned that you might divulge classified information?"

Posted by: Soothsayer is S.I.G. at March 03, 2015 10:35 AM (omuEe)
He should have fired back with "aren't you concerned you may have to report the truth? Have a nice day.......bitch." Of course, all the while, smiling.

Posted by: thatcrazyjerseyguy at March 03, 2015 11:22 AM (TPimP)

363 Well... Since I'm posting to a dead thread...

I vote firing squad, with M107, from 1000 yards.

... on a gusty, crosswind day, so the rounds need to be walked in...
