The terrorist known as "Jihadi John" who served as "host" for several brutal ISIS videos seems like a bright, though evil, guy. If a guy like him can't get a job in the racist west, surely other terrorists wannabees can't. Whelp.Investigators believe that the "Jihadi John" masked fighter who fronted Islamic State beheading videos is a British man named Mohammed Emwazi, two U.S. government sources said on Thursday. He was born in Kuwait and comes from a prosperous family in London, where he grew up and graduated with a computer programming degree, according to the Washington Post. ... The Post quoted the friends of Emwazi, who spoke on condition of anonymity, as saying they thought he had started to become radicalized after a planned safari in Tanzania following his graduation from the University of Westminster in London.Sounds like a hardknock life that could drive anyone to beheading innocent aid workers, Christians and anyone who has the misfortune of being randomly in their sights. You won't be surprised to find that this university seems to have had more than a few random brushes with Islamic radicals. Perhaps they need to consider beefing up their alumni job placement services. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

It's not as if Lenin, Hitler, or the Montagnards grew up in abject poverty, either. The "root causes" argument most often amounts to deflection. Ms. Harf and the other smart-setters are most comfy when the "root causes" blame America's perceived shortcomings, particularly "capitalist greed."
In truth, Jihad John hates America because Marie Harf went to school and has a paid job, rather than being shackled in his tent peeling grapes for him. Her expensive education has no answer for that. Blank-out, reboot. Restore default state - blame capitalism/America. Posted by: SocietyIs2Blame at February 26, 2015 11:21 AM (QKIQb) 60
It really is amazing to me how many people don't realize that to be a terrorist you need a support network. Training, planning, and covering your tracks takes quite a bit of time, after all and if you actually have to work to support yourself (and that means being someplace for hours of your day) then you do not have the time to dedicate to the terrorist side. It isn't "if they have a job they won't become terrorists" it is "if they are forced to have a job then they don't have time to become a terrorist."
To note: remember how their used to be Red Brigades and Red army Factions all over the place back during the Cold war? Notice how they disappeared when the soviet funds were cut off? Yeah, that. They're tormented by the possibility that someone, somewhere, is doing something he wasn't forced to do. The funny part is that they claim to be the upholders of Science<tm>, although the basic tenet of all science (real science, not "social" science) is that the evidence is king. You follow the data wherever they lead you, and if they contradict your expectations, then ... your model is wrong, and you need to change it, or reject it entirely. Islam is a religion of conquest which embraces a totalitarian view totalitarian view of life. However, as the Blogger, "Anchoress" notes, the secularr West is too "hip" to deal with the religious dimension. That's part of the reason why they won't call them Islamic terrorists, why they won't call martyred Christians "Christians" and why they deal with such stupid platitudes as "They need jobs." They have a job; It is being a soldier for their Allah:

Everyone will be busy with an assigned job. It the Left's perfect order. And then there'll be no terrorism, no crime, and no need for religion. Government will provide Everything. So the fact that this jihadi comes from an affluent background does not in any way negate obama/Harf's argument. Islam is a religion of conquest which embraces a totalitarian view totalitarian view of life. However, as the Blogger, "Anchoress" notes, the secularr West is too "hip" to deal with the religious dimension. That's part of the reason why they won't call them Islamic terrorists, why they won't call martyred Christians "Christians" and why they deal with such stupid platitudes as "They need jobs." Okay I think I have a good enough metaphor for Net Neutrality to sink your teeth into.
Current plan, think of restaurants. At Ruth Chris, Mr. Netflix goes in there and orders the porter house steak will all the trimmings and even cheesecake for dessert. Meanwhile Average Joe has all this college debt and working at Starbucks, so has limited bucks and is eating off the dollar menu at Taco Bell. Now with Net Neutrality, the buffet menu price plan is imposed on both consumers. Mr. Netflix is still eating the porter house steak but he is being charged far less. Meanwhile Average Joe sees his price for three tacos goes up so he now can only eat two tacos. Posted by: Anna Puma (+SmuD) at February 26, 2015 11:35 AM (CF4F1) 125

So every new situation they look at the question is - who are the Evil Whites and who are the Noble, Oppressed Blacks. That's how the look at jihadis -- as Oppressed Blacks, with Israel becoming Evil Whites. It's stupid and idiotic, but it's how their brains works. The more than 300 pages of new regulations are secret, but Mr. Wheeler says they will subject the Internet to the key provisions of Title II of the Communications Act of 1934, under which the FCC oversaw Ma Bell. Why, why are they secret? That is just so much Bullshit.
Because if they weren't, they wouldn't be able to keep their rubes in the dark. I have an old friend- smart guy, been in IT especially the internet basically since it first became commonly available back in the mid-90s. He and his dad ran a local ISP. Knows his stuff. He supports Net Neutrality because he's bought into all the lies about "ISPs shutting down websites" or whatever. Now, he *should* know better than that, and if the Regs were public, the blindfold would be ripped off. Thus the Progs are being very careful to hide what they're doing until it's too late to change. Yes. But it won't be. Actually, there are two theoretical ways it could be stopped, and neither will happen. The correct way: Congress says "F*ck you" to the FCC, and writes a law forbidding them from regulating the internet. This won't happen because Democrats want the internet regulated. The incorrect way: Someone is negatively affected by the new Regs (going to be hard to prove, since we don't know what the f*ck they are) and sues the government for infringing their 1A rights. And, of course, what they'll hear from the courts is, "You lack standing. Next!" Posted by: AllenG (DedicatedTenther) - TrueCon at February 26, 2015 12:04 PM (kff5f) 248

--- FIRST, BROADBAND TAXES. ONE AVENUE FOR HIGHER BILLS IS THE NEW TAXES AND FEES THAT WILL BE APPLIED TO BROADBAND. AND HERE'S THE BACKGROUND. IF YOU LOOK AT YOUR PHONE BILL, YOU WILL SEE A LINE ITEM THAT SAYS "UNIVERSAL SERVICE FEE" OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. THESE FEES, WHAT MOST AMERICANS CALL TAXES, ARE PAID BY AMERICANS ON THEIR TELEPHONE SERVICE. THEY FUNNEL ABOUT $9 BILLION EACH YEAR THROUGH THE FCC. NOW CONSUMERS HAVEN'T HAD TO PAY THESE TAXES ON THEIR BROADBAND BILLS BECAUSE BROADBAND HAS NEVER BEFORE BEEN A TITLE II SERVICE. BUT NOW, IT IS. SO THE ORDER EXPLICITLY OPENS THE DOOR TO BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN NEW TAXES. INDEED IT REPEATEDLY STATES THAT IT IS ONLY DEFERRING A DECISION ON NEW BROADBAND TAXES, NOT PROHIBITING THEM. THIS IS FIG LEAF FORBEARANCE. INDEED THE FCC HAS ALREADY REFERRED THE QUESTION OF ASSESSING IT FEDERAL AND STATE TAXES ON BROADBAND TO THE FEDERAL STATE JOINT BOARD ON UNIVERSAL SERVICE AND HAS REQUESTED A RECOMMENDED DECISION BY APRIL 7TH, 2015, RIGHT BEFORE TAX DAY.
