RomneyCare/ObamaCare Architect Jonathan Gruber Is Having A Bad Week

First, the State of Vermont stopped paying him when it came to light he held Americans in such low regard. The state's auditor has found some fishy items in Gruber's billing and has asked the state's AG to investigate the matter.

Now comes word that the new Republican Governor of Massachusetts has fired him from the state's exchange board.

Gov. Charlie Baker has demanded and received the resignations of four members of the state Health Connector board, including MIT Professor Jonathan Gruber, who touched off a national uproar late last year with videotaped comments about misleading marketing of the Affordable Care Act and derogatory remarks about the intelligence of the American people.

Gruber was appointed to the board in 2006 by then Governor Mitt Romney and re-appointed by Governor Deval Patrick. The other three board members asked to resign – John Bertko, Rick Jakious and George Gonser – were all original Patrick appointees.

Local crime reporter Sarah Klift seems upset at the news.

Consider this my gift to you after bringing so much of the GOP's garbage to the blog today. But don't get comfortable, we're back at it in the morning.

With "Federalist," there's a chance of peeling off some Democrat voters who would think that the party is actually *for* an all-powerful federal leviathan based solely upon the name. It could work for at least a couple of elections. "American," on the other hand, would only be guaranteed to repel them.

Because to find individuals who fit the mandated identity-politics template, it's necessary to inflate what were often incredibly minor historical roles and make them seem much more important than they actually were.

Because there are certain consumers who routinely use a crap load of bandwidth, but don't want to pay for it. Some online gamers, people who download a crap ton of movies, and then when the major players slow down your access because you are sucking up a huge amount of bandwidth you need the feds to bow to you, because you WANT MOAR FREE STUFF!
I could get into a long involved post about the why's and the wherefore's but mostly it's about the heaviest users pouting about why should they have to pay more for more speed than everyone else uses or get slowed down. Now it will be treated as a utility in which you get to pay more so that people that use more bandwidth than you can pay less.

No. They're being kept secret.

I have read that the main effect will to be to cement the market share of the largest providers, and make innovation more difficult. It will probably also increase costs.

Further down the line, I don't think it's too far-fetched that licenses will be required to start websites. And I'm almost certain that political content will be regulated at some point, to comply with already-existing regulations controlling political advertising.

201 The poor woman who is office manager for my husband's company was in a nasty wreck this evening.

She's stopped at a red light, and a school bus (one of the nasty union drivers who has been threatening to go on strike...again), hits the car behind her, slams her into the intersection, and her car is totaled. Miraculously, she's uninjured, but the guy behind her is carted off in an ambulance.

She called my husband, totally shaken up. She's 65 and has never had so much as a fender bender.

Anyhow, husband instructs her to be aware of the fact she may hurt later.

I have a feeling the poor woman may get a new car out of the accident.

The bus company has had incident after incident of speeding drivers, leaving little kids at the wrong stops, etc.

I hope she gets a damned Mercedes out of the bastards.

202 @192 Because there are certain consumers who routinely use a crap load of bandwidth, but don't want to pay for it.
----------------------

More accurately, it was because service providers were threatening to (and I think actually had done so) throttle down the access speeds of the heavier internet users. i.e. transmit more than x-amount of data over the internet during a month, and your service provider would slow down your connection for the rest of the month.

Yes, the Fairness Doctrine governed political commentary on radio and television for decades. If a station broadcast an editorial, they had to give equal time to an opposing view. Of course, the stations were licensed by the FCC, so failure to comply could have consequences.

It was eliminated during the 1980s, and conservative talk radio blossomed immediately afterwards. That was not a coincidence.

You enjoying your retirement, pension and the $130,000 worth of bonuses you got shortly before you got caught?

Just wait until the Reps take over both houses of Congress. You will have to pay back all that filthy lucre and go to jail!

292 275 Snow bunny sex ... ahh high school. Worked at Brighton and Alta. They say the bright sun on the snow produces a cocaine like endorphine high -- I don't know about that, but it does something to 20yo college chicks from California.

Then...hot tubs at night.

Posted by: EC at February 25, 2015 08:54 PM (doBIb)

and you know??? its still pretty much like that...

now its just more expensive Cabins vice 8 people sharing a hotel room...

But the MILF factor is high at ski resorts....

Because, as I explained to a friend many years ago... once you get off the bunny hill.... Fat Women don't ski...

I miss the white Christmases we had in Chicagoland. I still miss the occasional snowfall, living here in Savannah.

What I don't miss is snow still on the ground in April. Or trying to vid the boy playing t-ball in June and it's 45 degrees and sleeting.

Ugh.

However, you and Mrs. EC enjoy a wonderful snowbound night (and hopefully, day) tomorrow!

Here in Slovannah??? Gawd no. We're just getting wind and soaking rain. My mil is getting snow and freezing rain north of ATL.

We're supposed to attend a meeting for a non-profit husband serves on tomorrow. We're waiting till morning to see if it's cancelled.

I do miss a nice snowfall and all the coziness that goes along with it.

Yep. I imagine the had to have custom made them. They were like snow pants but in dress form. I don't know how they managed to ski in them, but they were all having a good time in the lodge.

319 This reminds me of the story of a great fisherman, who was awarded a 'Master Fisher' trophy in a tournament. In his enthusiasm to spread the glory at the ceremony, he pulled forward a shy young man covered in hip-waders and fish gore and gushed, 'I couldn't have done any of it without this Master Baiter!' Gruber is a Master Baiter.
