Rosen, who is the director of counterterrorism programs and policy at the State Department, was arrested and transported to a D.C. jail and charged with one count of Use of a Communications Device to Solicit a Juvenile. ... A State Department source on Wednesday downplayed Rosen's role in his bureau. She said she was involved in investigations in which serious allegations of criminal misconduct by senior diplomats were swept under the rug. She had interviews with witnesses who accused senior diplomats of inappropriate sexual misconduct with underage prostitutes, pedophilia and other criminal behavior. The evidence suggested that the State Department’s acting inspector general, then Harold Geisel, had intentionally eliminated evidence from draft reports to lessen the blow or to completely eliminate accusations of wrongdoing against senior diplomats, according to reports obtained by TheBlaze.... Evidence revealed possible cover-ups by then-Inspector General Geisel who was charged with oversight for the State Department. Geisel appeared to ignore allegations that major Democratic Party donor and U.S. Ambassador to Belgium Howard Gutman had sought underage prostitutes while at his post in Brussels, according to evidence collected by Fedenisn. Additionally, Geisel had enough information to indicate that Hillary Clinton's own private security detail was engaging with prostitutes overseas.
But the only way we'll get to the bottom of this is to demand that Scott Walker personally vouch for Obama's status as "saved" by our Lord Jesus Christ.*

Absent a huge religious revival, I fully expect child pornography and adult-child sex to be legalized within my lifetime, at least in some limited form. Bottom line, there are just too many powerful people who clearly crave this, and the track record is clear: When a critical mass of powerful people want legal sanction to do something, they eventually end up getting it.
I know all the arguments about why this could "never happen" -- it violates mutual consent, because minors can't provide consent, etc., etc. -- but I can imagine a number of creative legal ways to overcome those objections (for example, I can imagine courts -- probably not American courts, at first, but courts in at least a few Western nations -- eventually establishing some kind of "personal belief" loophole for Muslims, which would gradually be extended to other victim groups). And I have already seen several instances of slippery-slope reasoning that I was repeatedly told could "never happen" actually happening.
I'm just following the slippery slope all the way to the bottom, and given the record of the past 50 years, I'd say it's incumbent on the slippery-slope skeptics to prove me wrong, not the other way around. "Never gonna happen" has happened before. It will happen again.

I'm a lawyer. One of my good friends is a child psychologist. We have been convinced that this will happen for about 15 years now for similar, overlapping reasons. Back then, it was the "fringe" concern of two professionals seeing a trend beginning and being worried about it, now its painfully obvious to the general public if only the media reported on it. There needs to be a serious push-back, and soon, or else it will be legalized as you (and I fear).
